WeFi
Just a word of warning here, WeFi is a pain in the @ss to remove, and causes problems. There is a thread worth reading which I have commented on before, and after sufferring problems with my original HTC Elf (Touch) after using WeFi, I WILL NEVER touch this sofware again!!

removing wefi in windows mobile
hello, guys, about 15 minutes ago i figuered out how to remove wefi from your phone without damaging your wifi service. First make sure that your contacts are on your sim card. and your music on your storage card. Go to file explorer/ device management/ and click on clear storage. input 1234 and click yes. the phone will then turn off and on again. when this happens, the phone removes wefi's unability to unremove. if you know what i mean. then go to program files and on the folder wefi, click delete it will keep telling you if you want to remove, and click yes. it will delete!!!!! i just did it if you have any questions email me at [email protected] thank you bye

[Q] Media Scan re-Enable

Guys, at the risk of sounding dim, I have used startup manager to disable the media scanner on reboot. However I now want to re-nable it but cannot see how to, I forget to make a note of the service/app I removed (I expected it to be disabled, but it just disappeared from the list)
I have uninstalled start-up manager which hasn't helped. Could someone check and tell me the name of the service/app that I need to re-enable to get my media scanning back.
Thanks

This is annyoing.... -__-

Whenever I try to install any .cab now, it now gives me a new prompt right after I hit "Yes" to install the .cab. It gives me this prompt:
"Installation of (program).cab was unsuccessful."
It does that for every cab that I'm trying to put into my HD2. (BsB, DocHD2MMSFix, etc) Idk what I can do to fix it, I tried to soft reset it. It doesn't help... I'm really stressed out and annoyed about this thing. Anyone got anything?!
why don't you just hard reset the device. use pim backup to save your contacts/text/calendar/.... it's a breeze to get all your stuff back.
are you clicking to download the cab and choosing 'open' straight from the browser? because i find they always fail if you try to do that. You must save them first, and then open them manually.

I always download them onto my PC, then transfer it to my SDcard then open it up from there. Never had any problems with it until now...

I sync to Google and never have to re-add all the FB stuff to my contacts. Each time I flash, I sync again and my contacts are back just as I left them.
I flash a lot and thus need simple solutions such as that. Thank GOD for Android on the HD2, which not only sync's contacts but reinstalls your apps too!
There. Now I've helped someone and plugged my own threads at the same time. Time for a cookie
Try using sdkcerts. It enables you to install unsigned cabs.
You have a problem if your HD2 doesn't even let you install it. In that case, you'd want to do a hard reset (but BACKUP your data first!).

the facebook connections are stored in teh contacts 'notes' field, so are restored when you sync them back after a hard reset.

You know.... if you have installed BsB Tweaks (free in Windows Mobile Marketplace), you can just enable unsigned apps under Polices.

[Q] Remove MSN Money & MSN Weather from Dash3G

Hey guys,
Need your expertise; Is there a way to remove MSN weather or MSN Money from my -Mobile Dash3G?
I want to keep the original T-Mobile flash but those 2 apps are just taking space for nothing.
Thank you in advance!
Hook up your phone with ActiveSync and go into file explorer. Open up the windows folder, then start menu. You can delete stuff from start screen there.

Those 2 apps dont show up on "Add or Remove Programs". T-Mobile disable that from uninstalling but I was hoping there's a trick to uninstalling them.

If I do that, won't that corrupt files on the phone since Im really not uninstalling them?
I dont think so because it's like you're deleting shortcuts off that menu. So I don't know how to completely remove those programs. Then again how can you completely remove any program anyway.

I have found the solution to the various posts listed on not being able to get rid of an uninstalled prog in the remove progs window. Using MemMaid 2.3 go jump to/databases/database usage, highlight SwMgmtMetadataStore and click browse, highlight offending entry and delete it. Then do and soft reset and you will find that the prog is no longer in the remove prog window. Hope this helps.

[Q] Changing Language every restart

Hi,
Everytime I turn off this computer in 5pm, and open it in 8am it's changing the Language. please see attached picture.
please help.
Out of curiosity, is there some particular reason to restart the computer? Sleep uses basically no power and resumes far faster. If you leave the computer in sleep mode, does this happen? What about hibernate, if the machine supports it?
Please check with the Startup tab on Task Manager. If you have unwanted programs starting up automatically, uncheck them and restart.
Anyway, do you have to manually reset the language settings on control panel every morning?

this computer is for office, so if we go home, I need to shut down this computer,
and when I open it the next day its always changing the language.
and I always need to use the 'auto system backup/restore', and same the next day,
it's about 2weeks.

here's the starting programs (attached)
yes, I used the 'automatic system backup' and its 3/25/14 (attached)
Can you try disabling all the startup programs above and restart? I'm not sure it will help but if one startup program is not in English, maybe it's causing the system to change the language...
You can always revert back to your current startup settings by re-enabling the programs as on your screenshot.
Also, did you check your language settings on Control Panel?

this will not cause problems if I turn it all?
yes, and its by default. pictures attached
PS -
If I restart or shutdown my computer right now, It didn't change the language.
I think it's changing the next day.
No, it will just disable the auto-start of programs you unchecked. You can always enable it back anyway
Now I realize it may be a group policy because the language always changes on the morning. Is your company using it?

You're welcome
Btw, is one of your programs using a non-English language for its interface?
Also, is it the first time you get the problem? Did it happen suddenly or after installing something?

ahm no..and if yes, I don't know what program is that.
yes this is the first time, but I think it's happening about 2weeks changing language everyday, no nothing happen,
and before I start my work in the morning,
I need to System restoreback to 3/25/14
all apps/programs that I installed recently will be deleted in that date.
Well, I think you already know this solution : if you want the easy way, just reinstall Windows
It can be a pain if you have lots of programs to reinstall and a slow HDD but it always works!

The computer can run automated tasks at defined times, startup time or under triggers. Try to post a screenshot of what you have there (under Task Scheduler Library).

Yeah you got it, but I don't see anything wrong.
I don't know what the first 2 tasks do, but they were not ran today so disabling them won't hurt more.
Then the last one runs everyday but not at 8 am, I wonder what it is. Can you select it and post another screenshot?

Phone been acting weird... need help

My phone has been acting really weird for a few months now and I can't figure it out. Is there a way to find all apps on the phone user installed, system, and hidden?? My phone isnt rooted; well I havent rooted it nor does it say it has. For instance earlier when I pushed my volume button there was an accessibility guy there nothing would open when I pushed him and while looking threw my accessibility settings and checking here and there to see if he was still there, he just vanishes without me turning anything off. Like WTF. Theres other weird things but that's just the most recent 1. And it's got me very concerned. Pls help!!
Your probably have a setting on in Accessibility like visibility enhancements or screen reader, you'll need to turn it off.
For list of apps you can view them in Settings > Apps ( Tap the 3 dots on the top right and tap "Show system apps" )

That's what I thought at first so I went threw my accessibility settings and they r all off. He hasn't been back so far that I have noticed. I know there r some spyware and malware that u can hide from being seen or make it look like some random app. Is there a way to use like adb or android studio to scan it for something that shouldn't be there.

I'm not sure too much about malware, I do know that Samsung has their own "Security Features" in Settings > Device Care > Security if you want to scan your device, also try Play Protect.
Seeing that the Accessibility issues are out of the way, what other problems are you experiencing ?

I saw the guy again but this time I kinda got to look at the running services and I found this. Could that have something to do with it?? As u can kinda tell, once I forced stopped that cloud messaging service the time changed on it and went under the dual messenger service. But as I was saying beforehand, google play services always had a pop up saying using headphones in the background. But my data doubled in the last 2-3 months, things I download will just disappear and pictures (like my phone will restore itself a few days but not my messages or calls), my phone also keeps adding a new camera gallery like it's not connected anymore and is a new camera same with the screenshot folder. Theres also a few other things

So Cloud Messaging's time would change because after you stopped the process it restarted itself. But the other things make it look like your phone is being haunted
Can you send your list of installed Applications ?
