Hi,
Having a problem with the HD with streaming audi from mycast.Orb.com, video *.asx works fine as does internet TV, but on audio it downloads stream.asx file (it does call it a video file though video/x-ms-asx) and windows media tries to open and says it cannot play the file as it doesnt support the format,
Any ideas? This is wierd as it works fine on my HTC touch and on a PC.
Thanks
Mark
I guess noone else gets this problem hohum
does anyone know any way to use an alternative player for streamed media? can I tell the HD to open .asx files with a different tool?

Are you using PIE or Opera to browse your selections?

Translation: There is a ??? updated bundle that will fix the problem your having.
this is a common issues with the new radio/rom. so if you recently updated, there is part of your problem.

It's been fixed. File links are posted on page 1 of this thread on treo central and it works on my Mogul again:
http://discussion.treocentral.com/showthread.php?t=148801
The About on my TCPMP says 0.72RC1, but the About might not be updated.
It's not the player, YouTube changed something. Zbop posted a fix.
HTC Streaming Media Player installation problems!?
I downloaded/installed the RvBCrS_HTC_Streaming_Media.cab from this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=341755, copied the dll's to my device (did not overwrite existing), and soft reset. When i launch a youtube video from m.youtube.com, the HTC Streaming Media Player opens, says 'connecting' for ~10 seconds, and then closes.
Has anyone else had this issue/can recommend a fix for the TITAN?
mobytube.net with tcpmp flash bundle (audio sync is off by -500ms and for file associations check mms) OR use orb with windows media player OR avot(i don't like it) OR buy an ipod touch and use wmwifirouter on the titan to use the ipod's youtube app
PS - the htc_streaming cab works for me (i didn't move any dll's, just installed and reset) but m.youtube.com sucks compared to mobytube and orb and ipod.
Is it possible to stream videos/images/music from your PC to your diamond in a similar way the Xbox 360 does.
The Xbox uses the windows shared folders to pass data over the WI-FI network connection. It would be great to sit in an other room in the house and listen to my full MP3 libary on my PC through my diamond.
Is this possible? I have searched the forum and haven't seen anything else like this, sorry if I missed it.
Thanks.
you can try the new 'Orb 2.0' or the 'WinAmp Remote' programs and they wrok fine, you have to sign on thru the website, and you;; be able to access it that way, i tried it but it was sorta choppy and slow.... If anyone knows a better way to do so, please let me know. I have a HP Media Vault and would love to know if anyone knows a way to stream directly from there, and not have to bypass it thru my PC. Any help would be appreciated. Hope that helps, OP!!!!
yeah, you can do it with coreplayer
Orb's good, I stream video and audio through it, works well
Orb + codecs installed = Fluent video, no lag
how did you make it to play the videos with orb?
my opera browser always quits working when i try to play a video from orb...
I use HTC Network Tool to access my shared files from my computer on my phone over WIFI Network and then use tcpmp to listen to music, watch video's, view photo's, read documents.... works pretty good for me on HTC Touch Elfin
if i remember well (hope so), when i originaly bought my HD, when i openened an internet page with a youtube link, if i click on that link the youtube player used to open and start to play the respective clip
now, in opera it doesn't even show me the link to click on and in internet explorer it tries to open windows media player to play the clip, which it doesn't happen
i am pretty sure that numerous internet browsers and flash players that i installed and uninstalled had affected my HD default functionality, but now i want it back
so, can somebody point me in the right direction in order to solve that problem and to use my youtube player again?
a second issue is that i can't find a way, at least, to copy the link i want and to paste it into youtube player.
is not exactly the solution, but is more then nothing
thank you for any suggestion!
I just got a new MK808B Dual Core Android 4.2.2 which looks like the real thing - TV logo and same message as I've seen everywhere but I haven't dared open it up yet to verify. Bought from aopoline on Ebay.
Anyway, everything works great, including the wifi from downstairs to upstairs. Youtube HD video plays and so do all my video files IF they are on the microsd.
The problem is that it won't play anything it finds on my PC via wifi. The stock file explorer finds my PC, lists the files all great but when I try to play one nothing happens. I see the frame for the video and the control bar at the bottom but no video output. If I put the same video on the SD card it plays. I tried all 3 included video players. Obviously I want to play films from my collection on my PC.
Any reason for that? Any fix? Thanks.
Maybe try vplayer with the upnp plugin.
Make sure all your correct ports are forward etc

There are multiple ways. I find ES File Explorer enough since it scans for SMB/NFS on the network and plays stuff with any player you got installed.
Sure you can also mount network drives, requires root and a bit of patience in researching.
I am using BSplayer for LAN streaming. It has built in file browser including LAN browsing. My lan speed is about 2,5MBps and it works fine for 700MB divx.

Yes thanks that worked. Problem solved. All good using BSplayer.
Just had this for a couple of days now. Works brilliantly so far.
