It's been fixed. File links are posted on page 1 of this thread on treo central and it works on my Mogul again:
http://discussion.treocentral.com/showthread.php?t=148801
The About on my TCPMP says 0.72RC1, but the About might not be updated.
It's not the player, YouTube changed something. Zbop posted a fix.
HTC Streaming Media Player installation problems!?
I downloaded/installed the RvBCrS_HTC_Streaming_Media.cab from this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=341755, copied the dll's to my device (did not overwrite existing), and soft reset. When i launch a youtube video from m.youtube.com, the HTC Streaming Media Player opens, says 'connecting' for ~10 seconds, and then closes.
Has anyone else had this issue/can recommend a fix for the TITAN?
mobytube.net with tcpmp flash bundle (audio sync is off by -500ms and for file associations check mms) OR use orb with windows media player OR avot(i don't like it) OR buy an ipod touch and use wmwifirouter on the titan to use the ipod's youtube app
PS - the htc_streaming cab works for me (i didn't move any dll's, just installed and reset) but m.youtube.com sucks compared to mobytube and orb and ipod.

Is it possible to get Youtube movies working on the BA (running WM6), and if so, what player do I need?
The TCPMP player gives me a "RTSP protocol not supported" error when trying to look at a Youtube movie :/
hi there!
there is some kind of plugin/addon, which allows you to download youtube movies to your pda....
just search this forum or google for it, here is ONE source!
hope that helps....
regards,
krz
I have that tcpmp plugin, and it does work most of the time. I've run into some files on youtube that still give me an unknown media format error. Not sure why.
The Avot Media Viewer that someone posted about here a week or so ago works great though.
http://www.avotmedia.com/
http://m.avotmedia.com/
The Avot is OK but it needs much work to be more than OK.
I use the vTap.
http://veveo.net/
Use the search bar to browse uploaded videos from any embedded video website (like youtube, metacafe etc).
You can also have a feature of searching into wikipedia articles!
Very cool...
After doing a bit more digging, I installed Streaming Media v 2.10 build 518.700 (from High Tech Computer Corp.) on it.
It's working GREAT!

hi everyone!
well, i installed the HTC STREAMING cab, which was included in xplode's cabs. i dont know, what version this actualy is...
anyway, i can playback youtube movies, but the performance sucks big time.... lots of stuttering, not enjoyable at all.... is it just me experiencing this problem?
is the BA oo slow to playback such vids?
or am i doing something wrong here?
thx in advance,
krz
you should check your internet connection too...
me again!
have to add, that i now have the FLASHVIDEOBUNDLE.cab installed, which not only gives me great streaming playback using TCMP Player (make sure u have installed the right version first!), but in addition to that gives me the oppotunity to save the flash videos to your storage right away....
VERY COOL CAB!!! KUDOS 4 THE (true) CREATORS!
btw: that STREAMING thing that came with xplode's cabs still doesnt work... (my internet connection is of course up and running!!)
cheers,krz
okay, after playing around a little bit and after installing/deinstalling/reinstalling HTC STREAMING Software, i am afraid i screwed up flv playback completely...
every time i try to load a youtube site, pocketIE crashes and my device freezes, leaving me with soft reset as only solution!
i tried to play back flvs on the youtube mobile site as well, with no sucess. nothing happens! the vids just dont load....
ARGH!!!!!
keeps crashing and crashing.... (pocketIE keeps loading, the suddenly freezes!)
when trying to play mobile youtube in pocketIE, nothing happens.... (just loads 0kb, then stops...)
can anyone load youtube.com without any problems?
can anyone play back youtube.com movies without problems?
HOW?
sorry for whining around here, but this really makes me go N U T Z

what streaming client do you have installed?
the one, that came with xplode's cabs?
or that one: RvBCrS_HTC_Streaming_Media.rar?
the easy and fast way, install my streaming media cab open m.youtube.com and it will stream with the player just fine, tested and working

well did you installed audio manager also ?, inside the cab there is verinfou.dl which is needed for most of the HTC software, but if you install them both it will work

very cool! i am trying at the moment, seems to work on my device! (cant really make sure, the m.youtube network seems to be down)
thx a lot man!
now the last thing i am trying to find out is, wahat makes pocketIE and my whole pda freeze every time i load the "real" youtube.com.... maybe some java bug? i dunno.....
After the upgrading, my XDA IIS, works fully fine, except this window media player. There are noises every second when play videos, etc .wmv
And Tcpmp 0.7X 0.8X can not play wmv videos as well, it is said [video code (avc aka H.264) not supported by the player] or sound code not....]
and I tired to re-install the OS, problems are still there. Anyone else has same problem?
search the wiki of blueangel i hv given solution for both.
I could not find any solution for that WMP?
TCPMP is alright now.

Where can I find a .flv player??
I need to watch my .flv movies which are already stored on my device (so I'm not talking about see youtube's videos)..
I have already tried TCPMP and its plugin.. But it doesn't work.. It isn't able to open my .flv files (and I have installed the plugin)...
Anyway.. Any solution?
It could go well also something which allow me to play .flv videos directly from PIE or NetFront...
I already know that youtube allows you to see its videos throught TCPMP, but I need to see also other videos, not onle youtube's ones...
Thank you!
tcpmp works for me
yeah, flavio, I think you're doing something wrong. I watch .flv files all the time with tcpmp.
Nothing fancy to make it work, I just install the flash media bundle with tcpmp (the part that makes it work for online youtube videos), and then within tcpmp, click file->open and browse to the .flv on my storage card.
Can't get much more simple... what's not working?

When I try to open a .flv video with TCPMP, an error occours saying that "codec isn't supported".....
Maybe the plugin I download is corrupted...

Have you made sure that Flash Video is checked in File Associations?
When prog open select Options/Settings and then select page File Associations and scroll down near the bottom to check Flash Video box, and any others you might wish to enable.
It's one thing installing the plug-in but it still needs enabling!

Only asked if u were running 0.81 cose the bundle is made for 0.72 (but can still work with 0.81) so installs in '(Storage Card\)Program Files\TCPMP' while 0.81 installs in 'Program Files\ TCPMP (something)\Player' with the 0.81 try moving the files from 'program files\tcpmp' to the file for the 0.81 version then try again.

Hi guys!
I have recently tried getting TCPMP to work on TP2. Without any luck.
Firstly there seemed to be a problem with it running on WinMo 6.1. That has however been fixed in a thead somewhere here on xda dev.
I have tried all three of these fixes, and while they managed to get TCPMP open after install (Not get the crash.txt msg), it caused the TP2 to crash when opening a video file (even when trying to run the video that comes with the phone (my documents -> movies)).
Anyone know of any other solutions? because i have been searching but havent found anything to get this working.
Cheers!
same problem to me, I can't even play the video recorded with my TP2. It just hang.
its special TCPMP thats, working here. I have this functional, if you want to post it, just let mi know.
JF
Make it so, please.
Why don't you use Coreplayer for playing movie clips?
I'm having not issues playing most types of movie file... Great player!
Probably because Coreplayer is not freeware.
TCPMP is the predecessor of Coreplayer
its here: http://www.digitwins.com/download/TCPMP-0.72RC1.zip
JF
No luck yet
Thanks for the link, but is this version working on yours? At least I was able to open a video file (mp4) without my TP2 crashing like it did with other recomps I've tried, but the image is all messed up with green lines and **** all over the place...
Sorry, Im not using TCPMP for viewing pics. Didnt noticed that. And Im not gonna use it fot it ;-)

Hi there... i'm having problems to get work on tp2 a player that supports subtitles. Do you know anyone? Thank you very much.
Regards.
Coreplayer dont use in touch pro 2
Coreplayer dont use with processor touch pro 2. In the web of Coreplayer it ist possible reed.
Thank you and sorry for me english
I just use this app now works like a charm.
http://divx-player-mobile.en.softonic.com/pocketpc
It is not possible for me :
- Core player can't start, I don't see the app after pressing the icon
- TCPMP-0.72RC1 open, but the videos are not working, it crashes
Is it a problem of 3D driver or somethong like that?
Well I too am using Coreplayer and it works just fine. v1.3.2 build 6909 for ARM. Plays VGA .avi files perectly...
Had the same problem with TCPMP crashing until I unchecked "DirectDraw" in Video Settings (i.e. use GDI or Raw Frame Buffer).
twana, that is brilliant, I'd given up on TCMP having tried every version I could find.
Did you find out how to fix the blacked-out buttons in the toolbar?
Black buttons are caused by the theme you're using. And yes even HTC standard theme is causing this
Hello!
Thank you Twana, TCPMP works fine for me when I put "GDI" in the video settings!
It is great.

Selecting gdi/rawframe buffer in video settings is a must. Also check tools -> preferences -> file associations if you want them to play aac mp4 etc it must be checked there.
Hi guys,
I'm having some problems trying to play the website iphone anime. It streams just fine on the iphone and the encoding is mp4, so that should be ok. I can only download the files and then play it, I cannot stream it. I've been trying to change the default player but I can't seem top do so. Any our ideas?
Just tried with Meridian and get the error message about "streaming to this device", might be a 1.6 issue.
can somebody test this in 2.1

If you have trouble streaming .mp4 files it may be becasue you have uninstalled mediascape. I found that i couldnt stream .mp4 any more after i uninstalled mediascape & MediaPluginManager.apk, one quick reinstallation using adb later and its all working again.
i never touched mediascape so it isnt that. Try websites like this... http://iphoneanime.net, http://mediamp4.com ,http://iphonehentai.com/ and play any of those listed movies. They are all in mp4 format (great sites by the way for movie buffs who love to watch streaming videos)
I never was able to get them working while i was on 1.6 and after 2.1 the default player still says unable to load file. I then tried Vplayer (awesome, get it from the market) and now i am able to stream 50% of the movies on these websites. I think it has to do with the native streaming support of the base player. it just isnt any good......
