how can i use BLACKSTONE for carriers like sprint ? - Touch HD General

any smart memeber knows how can i use the Blackstone for CDMA carriers like sprint ?
or any body did that before ?

Unfortunately...
You can't. The Blackstone has a GSM/WCDMA radio, and not CDMA.
Sorry dude.

It is not possible... plus the HD will NEVER come to the US

MetroPCS

My pre-paid phone just ran out of minutes, and I think it is a good idea to switch to MetroPCS. I am just getting the idea that it might be possible to use a Sprint Vogue with MetroPCS. Is this really true? If so, how can I get it to work on MetroPCS w/out paying for flashing it or MetroFlashing it? I am brand new to CDMA PDA phones and flashing.
BTW, does anyone know if MetroPCS is open on Sundays in SoCal?
Thanks.
BTW, I've been looking around and I don't see a solution to this. I called MetroPCS, and they claim that they don't use CDMA smartphones. I don't know if this settles it or not.
*bump* I'm kind of in desperate need of a MetroPCS phone...
metro will support the xv6900 it supports mine with web and mms

You were misinformed... of course metro uses CDMA smartphones! CDMA (Verizon, Sprint) phones don't require SIM cards like GSM phones (ATT, Tmobile)- unless you have a world phone...
You can now get phones from other carriers (CDMA only) added onto metro's network... I have a Sprint Mogul (pda smartphone) and my wife has a Palm Treo 755p (pda smartphone) on metro's network...
I know you can flash Treos, HTC 6800, Diamond...
Go here for more information about phones on metro... http://www.howardforums.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=335
There are so many dumb-non techie- people who work at many corporate metro stores... they are just sales reps... trained to know about metro services, not to keen on phone features or other technical questions...
If you want a list of compatible phones that can be flash to metro go here:

hey vonne thats cool but i never heard of them are they a wireless company? i much rather buy an unlock or do some of the things i said in the original message
you can buy unlocked phones off ebay. i sell some there. if you buy the Sprint I don't think it will work on Tmobile even if you unlock it because Sprint uses CDMA and Tmobile is GSM. If you buy an unlocked GSM phone it should work on Tmobile. I had a different unlocked GSM phone while i was in the US this summer and it worked fine.
ok csasek but im talking bout the hero/ G2 touch not any other phone i jus want that one there so many smart people that hav info on this phone an none can help me?
the only place you can get it unlocked is on ebay for about $550, and yes it will work in the US...any other specific questions
You are aware that the G2 Touch will not work with 3G in the US? If you buy one, you will be restricted to EDGE at best. As has been already stated, the Sprint Hero can never work with T-Mobile US at all.

Dave

why doesn't the Hero work with US 3G? what frequencies/technology do ATT & Tmobile us for 3G? I thought that Tmobile was using WCDMA/ HSDPA which should be compatible and that ATT uses HSDPA too.
I honestly don't know what all these things mean so if you could provide some insight I would really appreciate it. Since I sell these on ebay I like to be able to answer these types of questions.

Yes they do, but the important thing here is that these services can be offered over several different frequencies.
The "worldwide" Hero (as opposed to the Sprint one) only supports 3G (HSPA/WCDMA) at 900Mhz and 2100Mhz.
http://www.htc.com/www/product/hero/specification.html
T-Mobile US's 3G network runs at 1700MHz, and ATT's 3G at 1900MHz. Neither of these 3G bands are supported by the radio in the GSM Hero, so you are stuck with 2G/EDGE speeds.

Dave
Thank you very much for the explanation
im sure there is a radio update in the development section somewhere???
this would alow US users to have 3G but they would require root in order to flash the new radio
There is no radio ROM update at present which will make US 3G bands available, and there is no evidence as yet that this is a ROM and not a hardware restriction.
If I were interested in pursuing this further, I'd probably enquire in the Magic forums if it possible to flash a MyTouch 3G radio onto a European Magic to get 3G working with T-Mobile US.
Regards,
Dave

My HTC Touch is CDMA and is labeled as a Touch through Bell, and Rogers GSM Touch is also labeled Touch. I believe the vogue moniker has not been used in any marketing at all and remains an inhouse code name given to it by HTC before official release.
The code name for the GSM version is the Elf and the code name for the CDMA version is Vogue. However, under all carriers, "Touch" is used as the phone name.
This can be confusing when trying to buy one online. You have to be careful and look at the bands the radio supports to make sure you get the right one for your carrier.

skydirt is correct. when buying, you usually have to marry HTC Touch with the carrier the person says it is for. i.e. HTC Touch Sprint is the vogue aka sprint 6900, HTC Touch Verizon is the elf aka xv6900.

SLegend in the US

So I know this is probably a easy question that I should know the answer to but I need to ask it anyways. I want the legend for my sprint line.is there a way to make this work?i have always had gsm phones. My fiancee has sprint which is cdma and I really want to get the legend for her but I see its only available in europe. Thanks for the answers in advance.
go look at what bands the sprint network use and then look up the legend at htc from the country of import if they match up then it will work
however most networks use 2100mhz for metropolitan areas and the legend supports this

is there any unlock for evo?

hey guys i am planning to buy a HTC EVO for my brother soo i want to know will i be able to use it in dubai or will it only work in USA or is there any unlock for it like iphone ??
The EVO isn't GSM. So no, it won't work anywhere except Sprint in the USA. Well, it could maybe work in a few select markets, but it WILL NOT work like the iPhone, Nexus One, etc etc etc... Sorry!
awwrite thnx man
are there CDMA network in dubai ?
no there arent any cdma networks
Anyone aware of an unlock to allow use on Verizon?
