Iris Browser on Blackstone - Touch HD General

Hey there,
I'm really looking forward to get a new beta released...
Iris is really great (like the visible feedback when you click on a link, which opera mobile lacks)
but I get too often the following error: "Memory usage exceeds process memory limit!"
While TouchHD has plenty of memory )
If there's any guy from torch, please please a new build

looks like their team is very active, got this answer
We expect to make an interim release any day now that should improve the situation for that device.

let us know when they do release the version, thanks.

Hi
I'm running Iris from iris-browser-1.0.16.cab
is this the same version that you're having problems with ?
the only "problem" I'm having is that it's a bit fussy about selecting text boxes for loging in to things like facebook and owa
Gary

I'm using Version 1.1.3 without problems...
Oliver

I don't have any memory problem. Do you store yoir cache in ROM or microSD?

V 1.1.3 ran without problems at all...
New Version 1.1.4 still without problems... No Memory bugs at all...
Oliver

i got same memory problem. my device is Acer DX900.

No problem at all: good browser but no flash support...

Hello Friends,
As the subject, do you know what is the best IM application in Windows Mobile? I need an IM app which support auto-reconnect, buddy status, invisible, and not heavy. I have try similar app like :
Palringo : It cannot set buddy status. It just can set palringo account status.
Slick : It has match with my requirement, but the program always crash "failed to alloc memory" due its beta version.
IM+ : It has match too with my requirement, but its not free.
Any suggestion?
Thank you.

Hello,
I've already using BeeJive right now. Altough it have a little bit of problem when installing.
First, my MDA Pro is using Tomal's ROM, means it is customized ROM. And on the ROM is not installed SQLServer CE. So I've get error SQLServer when initial run of BeeJive.
And then after googling I found a LennySH_SQLCE blablabla and BeeJive fix on this forum. Yeah, first time execution it error 'database already exist' but i run a twice, Its working.
Perfect app.

good to hear that had that error too but wasnt able to fix it
hmm it seems I will not use beejive again....very very very big memory usage
checking on task manager ... beejive uses almost 4.5 MB memory...and If I open an conversation to people, it consume memory separately and almost same ... so when i open beejive and open one conversation, it takes around ..... 7-9 MB. When memory leaks, it crash.
maybe the solution is upgrading my Uni memory to 128. Or switch back to palringo -- but that app is not have much feature i need .. (archive and status).
Just share.
thanks
Have you tried Fring?

nice app
thanx bro
Very nice app. Would buy it and use it on daily basis if it only didn't take so much memory. Just runing it takes minimum 10% ekstra memory on my phone(sometimes even 20%), compared to regular HTC touchflow. That is the only drawback of the program. Besides that very nice interface, setting ability, and all the other stuff.
Does anyone else have the same memory issue, or is it just my phone? (if it's regular memory use for this program, I understand it, runs alot of 3D stuff, it's just that it starts to lag the phone if you have 1 or 2 programs open)
EDIT:
Ok, after a little bit of reading on SPB site, I can se that 3.0 version is not yet officialy released (they still only have 2.1.5 version as the oficial version on their site). This version is a beta, and not all functionality is enabled. Definetly a better visual and user friendly update compared to older version. Just hope that memory issue will be adressed in finished version.

On HTC HD there is no higher memory usage comparing with TF3D, even less. It runs smoothly without any sluggishness. Very quick display reaction on every touch. In addition, I think this trial version is already full functional, apart from that it will not work after 15 days. Hopefully Spb will release officially by that time ... so common guys ... the way you "dropped out" and let us use for beta testing is the cheapest way for you

JAVA & F1-applet?

Currently I'm running the Cell Pro V11 and although I don't think this ROM-version can be the problem, I thought it was worthy mentioning.
I'm trying to get the official F1-applet going that mobile users can download from http://mobile.formula1.com but for some reason it comes up with an OutofMemory-error even when my TP2 has "only" 48% used after a soft reset.
I was wondering if anyone has experienced this as well or that maybe a JAVA-update is in order or that there is some volatile memory that needs excluding in the registry for this app to work.
Really appreciate some answers/pointers from fellow F1-fans.
Same problem for me as well. Haven't figured out what is wrong. Really wish it wasn't a Java applet.
I will look into that. Downloading and testing.

Much appreciated Sergio; I know you're quite the busy bee...
In the FAQ section for the TP2 you will find a link to install JavaFX.
The repeat the procedure and you will not get out of memory anymore
Thanks for that; will try later tonight or tomorrow and report back...
/edit: it works... Bit slow though but I will try it out next F1 to see how accurate it is.
Thanks for the JavaFX hint.
Installed fine but unable to login message keeps coming up with unable to find server.
Any hints mates?
stock Sprint TP2 6.5 Sense 2.5.
Woke up this AM in the USA, & lo & behold the app worked for Round 3 of the WCC - Malaysia.
Nice stuff.
Must've been server issues not allowing some of us to connect the last couple of days.
Best advice I can say for Touch Pro2 owners is download the JavaFX & install that before downloading latest F1 App.
Should be able to get the HTC soft keyboard up & running too & u can choose not to use the app's own proprietary soft keyboard.

[BUILD][DISCONTINUED][DesireHD - Beta 2][Kernel: darkstone]

Hi everyone, I'd like to let everyone know that I will no longer be updating my builds.
This is mainly due to the lack of time and that I have a lot of work for university to do.
I'd like to thank everyone who donated to me, I have sent an email to each and every one of you
I'd like to thank everyone who supported me throughout the last few months and I'd like to thank everyone at #htc-linux & #htc-linux-chat for their help and for being awsome!
Once again, many thanks!

HTC Desire HD build for HTC HD2 by darkstone (Beta 2):
Easier to list whats NOT working:
- Camera (app closes itself)
- Ebook reader (E-Books do not open)
- Ringtones (Unable to select a ringtone, get a force close error)
- Video playback from SD card is slow, needs rectifying
- LED Notifications are bizzare, sometimes they work and sometimes they don't
// Creates a 1gb data.img (takes a long time to make on first boot, be patient. No, the HD2 has not crashed despite what the screen looks like! Wait 10 minutes or so.)
// Don't worry about FB console not showing, that's normal
// This shouldn't really be considered as a build for daily usage, still experimental
// Copy the Android folder to SD card, run CLRCAD.EXE and haret.exe on your HD2
Git diff patches included, Thanks to gauner1986 for sharing his patch (and also correcting my mistake with PPPD )!
Thanks to mattc for support!
Thanks to football for the dump!
Thanks to the usual suspects at #htc-linux and #htc-linux-chat!

What Android fix you want to be next?

Vote here Android fix you want to be next
hey guys
What you see:
You see some Bugs that have to be fixed, you think about the way your are using the phone and set a personal priority.
What you don't see:
-Some Bugs are connected to other Bugs. If you start fixing G-Sensor for example, you also fix Lightsensor..
-Some Bugs need much more time to work on than others. If you want battery to be working perfectly, you will have to wait a loooooooooong time for other fixes. On the other hand some minor bugs, maybe headset i.e., could be done very quickly.(didnt look at it, yet)
-I, for example, can not work on one thing all the time, sometimes i have to switch between the issues
-you try to tell the developers what they have to work on. It could be that some of us have other, personally, priorities, that they want to work on. They do it in their free time, where they could satisfy their girlfriends and wifes
This is not meant as warning or something, just think of it
A Voting could be seen as a public-opinion poll.. but not as a directive for the developers

I believe most visitor understand your concern Schlund. They are happy you and other devs are working on it regardless the order. Maybe we can look at the poll as an exhaust of our hopes. And only look at it as a directive when you don't know what to decide yourself. So thanks again and keep on the excellent work!

it's my fault, i suggested the idea to tzacapaca
of course this poll is not a work order for devs, but it gives an idea of what is important to the common photon users, and what is less important.
it helps to put priority to the long list of bugs

i had the same. then i used a HARD reset and it works fine.
Wouldn't it be a good idea to put all the known bugs on:
http://code.google.com/p/photon-android/issues/list
And then the devs can update as they wish, so it means everyone can check what bugs exist easily, and also means we can see what the dev's are working on too.
It might stop the repeaded questions of "Is this not working?" as a Forum is good, but information can be lost easily or become snowed under. Atleast this site keeps it clean and accessable?
If you guys do want all the issues on that site, I'm happy to help put them on there... and if I ever do end up buying a new motherboard for my PC i'd be happy to help dev, I know C, C++, Java... would need help setting everything up ready to dev though.

True, but there is a difference from having it on a forum or in a table for a website, than having it on a project page. The project page allows them to put what progress the bug is in... it kinda brings the best of both, into one place.
The wiki page is good for a quick reference page of what is and isn't working... but it doesn't provide why its not working. The forum explains why its not working, but it is much more bulky and can easily be lost. It also doesn't state the progress of the 'project' unless it is maintained. Project pages tend to maintain themselves with very little input from the dev's...
In my experience(10 years of working in projects like games etc), the project page is always easier to update and use. Just my input anyway...
Feel free to add the issues to the google code page =)
In fact,I have only one sd card can work android.
It is a Transcend 8G(class2) card,my wife buy that card about helf years ago.
That card can work android very fine on my hd mini and my wife's.
But I have another Transcend 8G(class2) card can't run it.
So I think this android program still have some question.

that's true, but i created this buglist page before the photon project page was populated.
it is easier to follow on the project page, at the end all the issues shall be posted there. the problem is i could not find the time yet to re-write all the issues in the bug tracker.
so anybody feel free to copy the bugs from this page and populate the issue list, with as much as details as you can write.
(how to recreate the issue, what you expect, what you get instead, on which version, etc)
feel free to open new issues or bug reports as well, nobody will blame you for that, this is the usage of the page ;-)
at least be sure the issue does not exists yet in the bug listing and that you give enough details to understand it!
http://code.google.com/p/photon-android/issues/list
this way we can follow up what isses are pending and what issues have been fixed, and everybody can contribute to this, you can add your own comments to each separate issue and provide a workaround if there is one (today with the buglist on the forum, only me can edit the page, which is not efficient)
i count on you guys, you're part of the photon team
hi all,
i also wanted to add touch screen problem to the bug list...i know that dev's have already corrected most of the touch screen problem that we all were having in the early release and usually there are no problem with it...but while typing text messages or any thing with keypad it gets messy....when i type fast in WM there is no error in words...but in droid it occurs all the time..
so i used smart keyboard pro..it has an option that enables u to see what area u have touched while typing. The touchscreen calibration is still 10-20 % off from where the buttons are and it can't be corrected with the screen calibration option present in settings as i've tried it so many time.
i know its not a big problem and not a priority, all i wanted is to point it out. Maybe when all the major bugs like battery, 3g, etc will be fixed. Dev's can correct this one too..
THankz and thumbs up for everyone who's working and helping in making hd mini a fully workiing android device
