Hi,
I transfered from an German O2 Rom the Homezone Tool and GPRS and Wap (MMS) Settings so that you can use a MDA II with O2 card in an O2 network.
All works fine.
Just unpack the Zip under \windows and start from the directory \windows\v2r\settings\connectsettings.exe a menu will open and you can choose which card you have, wich country (germany or uk), GSM or GPRS. Very smart ;-) The network setings will setup automatically.
There is another tool for setup you email account.
The homezone tool will tell you in germany if you are in you genion home zone.
All other bull**** of that cab which will change your skin and settings and slow down your device are deleted ;-)

Hi folk,
I'm using a MDA II with an O2 network in germany.
In germany O2 has the nice feature of homezone (a special zone with extra rates).
The homezonetool (30032install.ARM.CAB) shows you if you are in a special area if you have now discout prices.
Install the tool and homezone is installed as sevice (ohz.dll) and it's works.....
... but now I'm wondering why I can't make any GPRS connection. The "G" is not shown.... Making a GSM internet connection is no problem, only GPRS is not working.
Does anyone knows what happens when I install the DLL. I checked the installer, there is only one exe (for turning on and off), two bmp-files and one dll.
Here the registry:
REGEDIT4
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\OHZ]
"Dll"="OHZ.dll"
"Prefix"="OHZ"
"Order"=dword:00000064
"Keep"=dword:00000001
"Index"=dword:00000000
"Context"=dword:00000000
"DisplayName"="o2 HomeZone"
"Description"="o2 HomeZone Service"

Hi all,
I'm unable to make an Internet connection in Cyprus via GPRS on my XDA IIi using my soeasy PAYG SIM card I've read Bandikoot's earlier reply on this question here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=9288
Entered the settings verbatim - still no connection. Anyone else got a solution to this for Cytanet soeasy SIM card?
What about the basics? In 'Connections' on the XDA IIi, under 'Advanced', 'Select Networks', should I be using 'My ISP' or 'My Work Network' for programs that automatically connect to the Internet?
Help would be appreciated.
Kind regards,
viffer
Hi
I have a Qtek 9100 running the O2 XDA Mini S Official WM5 Rom.
I am trying to set it up to access the internet using a PAYG o2 sim. I have followed a couple
of guides from this site but it still will not work.
I can connect to GPRS ok but when I try to connect to a page on the web,
I get an error message saying
"the page cannot be dispalyed or downloadedbecause the connection was lost. Check the onnection and try again later"
I still have a GPRS connection when I get this message.
My setting are;
modem-Cellular line (GPRS)
Access popint name - payandgo.o2.co.uk
username - payandgo
password - password
Advanced settings - use server assigned IP addesss
use server-assigned addresses
connection name o2
modem cellular line (gprs)
access point name - payandgo.o2.co.uk
username - payandgo
password - password
domain -
Advanced
use server-assigend ip address
proxy settings
both boxes ticked
http - 192.113.200.195:8080
WAP - 192.113.200.195:8080
What am I doing wrong.
I'm new to this so be gentle!!!
just figured out what I'm doing wrong.
I had two connection set up .
I have deleted the first one and now I can connect.
Pleased it's working, but it really gobbles up the cash on PAYG.
Mike
do you have to set up gprs with o2? do you have to tell them you want it?
ive got an o2 pay as you go sim, i can connect but it doesnt seem to work properlly like you stated. ive not contacted o2 to 'turn on' gprs for me so i dont know if its that.
Anyone noticed that o2 has changed their network setup?
I'm a regular ROM flasher and when i start the connection it used to connect to "O2 UK" but now it gives you the option of "O2 postpay" & "O2 prepay".
(I choose the postpay option)
The problem I have is with my MMS server now that i have to choose postpay or prepay...
When connecting using the old connection MMS wouldn't connect to wap for anything other than MMS, but now it will connect for anything (i.e. email, weather, opera/IE, etc)
Does anyone know how to make my MMS server to only allow MMS to use it for connection? (I'll be using Mobile internet connection for other connections)
(Already using 'Data Connection' program to turn it off when not needed but what a hassle!)
