I have a couple of questions with regards to Touch Flo 3D.
1) Is there somewhere I can go to edit settings? (more details than the poor settings tab)
2) Can I have more than 2 appointments on the front home page? (For some reason now, when I slide the clock up to be a smaller version, I can see 5 appointments? How does this work? 4 of them are the same item, spread over 4 days!)
3) On the weather tab, at 9am it shows as 21:00. At 9pm, it also shows as 21:00... How can this be fixed?
Add to that, how do I install custom icons, for home, weather, album, programs etc
And how do I install custom themes? I've downloaded a .manilla file, dropped it \windows but it hasn't done anything

Hi,
after trying ver much today plugins etc, I finally found what I really want and need. I made a rough sketch of my idea, mybe someone could give me a hint, how to realize that?
Basically I just need to see date/time in the top bar (I think there's some registry setting for that?), a weather plugin, and a calender preview (like today agenda) and a launcher, where I can switch between calendar and launcher. I know this should be possible, just not exactly how. Pocket Breeze for example is too overloaded with iLauncher integrated, and I don't need a separate tab for tasks for example. On the other hand, the touch homescreens weather plugin never updates it's view, it always shows the weather from the last sync, not the current one. Without data flatrate and a resulting occasional USB update, I never have the current weather shown
As you say I think there's a reg setting for the time + date in the title bar. (I think I've seen the option in Tweak2K2.NET.)
You can remove the Day + Date + time today item using the Settings -> Today configuration.
For weather I use SpbWeather, which can show 4 days of weather across a 240px wide screen.
Edit: Additionally I use ScaryBear QuickTasks for the tasks list.
That should cover some of what you want. For meetings you may be able to achieve using the standard today plugin anyhow.
the builtin calender plugin show not enough upcoming meetings, but I can use TodayAgenda for that, which also shows tasks. Only thing I don't like with TodayAgenda, it doesn't use category colors...
For weather weatherpanel could be nice, seen that in a thread below this one. Biggest problem with most weather plugins is the inflexibility with updates, what I need is "update only on activeSync".
What I couldn't find so far is a tabbed interface, that integrates a Launcher and the TodayAgenda, with a large button to switch between views (don't want a stylus on today screen)
Edit: hm, I have the correct registry value for date/time in the taskbar:
To show both the date and the clock:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\TBOpt = 1 (DWORD decimal)
but it doesn't show. When I leave the homescreen, I see the clock, on the homescreen itself nothing. I have HTC taskmanager installed, which I like, maybe it prevents that? Also the HTC touch homescreen is installed, which shows the time, but I don't like it, so I disabled the today plugin, but maybe it diesabled the clock?
for weather you can try to the free program of weather-to-go (you can set it to update only on activesync)
http://tonaya.com/products/wtg/index.php
for meetings and tasks, I do like todayagenda. i believe there are some color options that are in the program (I haven't personally used).
for the launcher (without the use of a stylus) you can use claunch and have it set to large icons in the options. if you want it specifically integrated into one section with the calendar, i don't know of a launcher that's integrated into the calendar except for loaded programs from spb or sbsh.
there was a program that showed the date as small text underneath the time. found it...it was pbar. it's also a useful task manager (better than vbar). also free.

for the new on the bottom left softkey, you can look for and install wmnewmenu and map it to the left key (i forget if it's an option in the program. if not, you can look for the softkey mapper...think it's by dotfred) and map it.

I searched a bit on pocketage, there seems to be no homepage or anything...
The "new" menu I have already running...
I don't need a calendar with integrated launcher, I just need a 2-tabbed interface with acalendar preview and a launcher... this can be one, two or three separate tools if need be...

for a two-tabbed launcher, claunch should be able to work. it defaults with 8 tabs, but you can set in options to only have 2 tabs and rename them as you see fit.
Check SPB Mobile Shell

I need to have the calendar preview in one tab, so it's not actually a 2-tabbed launcher, but more a tabbed interface for two today plugins...

hmm...that's gonna be tricky. i don't recall seeing any free software that does that. i do know that spb and sbsh have a today plugin that will integrate the calendar into a tab. i think one of them also the ability to add other third party today plugins in their their tabs as well (based on past experience when i tried this software, but i can't reconfirm from my current access due to stupid websense in the network)
SPB Mobile Shell looks nice so far, just have to get a bit into it's customizability. Only checked the old version, but with the new one and it's Professional Now screen, it looks quite good...

or not?
Hi Folks,
i´ve just ordered my Touch HD, and i hope it will come to me before Santa (end of November i guess).
My question is: what can be seen on the homescreen of the HD? Today i use my good old friend, the wizard100. On the Todayscreen i have full Battery and Storage information, Weatherforecast for 4 Days, and calendar appointments showing up to 3 days. Also a today-link for tomtom. Is TF3D able to show this too? I need to see all these things on just one quick view. How customizable is TF3D?
Of coz u can.
Just install the softwares.
Which softwares in particular are you referring to?
My question was how many things is TF3D able to do without any external software. On my Wizard 100 i´ve installed following software: SPB Weather, SBSH Phoneweaver, SPB Time, Calendar+ , DeviceLock, Battrey Status nad TomTom. Except Tomtom i hope that TF3D could show me things like weather,Appointments and other things without installing other software. I like to use the HTC Homescreen, but i dont know how many information it is able to show?
Afaik it has the same home screen as the Diamond but probably with a little more info because of the added screen height. The diamond home screen shows clock, missed call status and first next calendar item.
And this is what i wanted to know: Do you think the HD would show more informations than the normal TF3D from f.e. the Diamond? This must be an complete different TF3D, or not?
It's not completely different, it is in fact rather similar. It has the same tabs bar the stock tab, and most tabs just show a little more info to complement to extra screen height. Also, it has very nice transitions between FLO/programs, much like the iPhone zoom effect.
Same trick is applied on the HD to make it 'feel' more slick and responsive.
Anyway, if you look at the French video on YouTube you will catch a glimpse of many of the tabs, including the home tab. It shows exactly the same stuff as on the Diamond, except I am guessing it will show more upcoming calendar events in the bottom.
You have a choice between TouchFlo3D or the normal Windows Mobile that you used to.
What you have on it will depend what Apps you like, its like your old PDA / PDA Phone. In other words, almost anything.
If you are just talking about the homescreen itself, than you get to see the same thing like on the touch diamond but when you scroll down, the list will be much longer so you can see more appointments. which is a good thing
oh and in the case you didn't know:
there is also a new "customize tabs: rearrange and remove tabs" setting !!
can be seeN here:

I am looking to buy the TD2 in the next 3 weeks and have a question regarding the touch flo interface
Can you display your upcoming/overdue todo's on the front screen as well as appointments?
T.I.A
MarJon
Yes you can if you don't use TF3D. In the normal today screen, you can install a plugin called TodayAgenda (google for it) and that allows you to display and edit your Todo list. It's fantastic!
Unfortunately TF3D is not customizable except to remove or reorder its tabs. It does not work with Today screen plugins.
Thanks Jim
I knew I could display them without TF3D as I currently have PocketBreeze on my today screen of my current phone but really like the TF3D interface so I dont have to keep pulling out the stylus to do day to day stuff with the phone.
Are the ToDo's viewable from any of the tabs?

Please tell me how can you reorder the tabs.
I've been looking for this option and I haven't found anything yet.
Searching in this forum revealed only an old application for the "old" Diamond and old Manila.
Go to Settings, and click on Customize Tabs.
You can then untick ones you do not want to appear, and drag others into the order you want.
Thank you!
I've already solved this problem.
When you go to "Customize Tabs" there is a text on top of the page: "Drag Items to rearrange".
I must be blind but I didn't see that. The text is as big as my head but I didn't see it.
Dummy me …
That's what's happening when the interface is too user friendly
but... the items on the agenda do show up on the today screen.. I have a TD2 with TESS essentials ROM (WM 6.1 Manila 2.1), and the items that I have on my calendar do show up on the today screen as one line indicators.. but only when it's the day they are due...
Why homescreen shortcuts aren't seen is beyond me, however I have noticed that there are two shortcuts found on the homescreen already. Call History and Calender, pressumebly all these do is reference a location on the device.
So my question is, can we make it so we can add our own shortcuts, to link to another location or possibly an application?
Adam
I would donate 25 dollars or euros for anyone who can pull this off, I almost can't live without my tasks there
If you both are talking about ammending the 2 right and left shortcuts on TF3D Home tab then you should go search around.. Its possibel to change with many apps or via registry..

I've already managed to do this with an application called TouchFlo Detacher.
I'm referring to the two shortcut links placed underneath the clock or to the right of it when in landscape mode. You can't miss them.
I'm just wondering if it's possible to add or change them.
I found a way looking in many forums, they say you need to use a famous tool called ssmaho... try to look here on xda, where it's hosted. I downloaded it but I don't understand how to use it... so far no luck in linking pocket informant to calendar and home tabs. any help would be very appreciated!
Change yes, add too, probably not
See http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=497197 for various changes
But I can't get the plugings working http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=508102 to add Tasks
This thread is very old however I don't like to create threads for questions which have been already asked:
I use a Jackos Hybrid ROM with WM6.1 + Sense 2.1 (fastest I've ever seen), but I miss at least 2-3 shortcuts to most popular programs on my homescreen. Is there a theme or a patch which couls allow me to put non-standard shortcuts directly on my HS? Independently on the history and calendar fields.
I've tried google, but there are tons of unnecessary information but I couldn't find anything helpful. Here, on xda, I've found information about some mods (like MaxManila) but none is reported to work with WM6.1. Besides these mods are heavy, and I don't need a comprehensive application but a small patch to have 3 icons on HS.
Thanks in advance guys (and girls of course)!
Is there a way i can make my calendar look further in to the future for appointments? I have loked around but currently i dont get appointments shown beyond the next day or 2, I would prefer the next 5 events or so to be displayed!
(I have installed the tweaked cab from the hints section to get more calendar appointments displayed on the home screen).
I also want this feature!!!!!!
Anyone?
Me to, want this feature.
Calender with more future appointments
Hi, Calender on the HD2 default Homescreen does not show more appointments. My workaround is this :-
1 - install SecondToday - this adds another Today homescreen.
2 - install o2plusV2.3 - in this, the calender application will show the next 10 future appointments or the next 10 days. The cab file is o2plus2.3 >> see this link
//forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=281237
I have used this on my o2zinc, htc HD and now HD2.
Hope it helps
You can get more than 1 appointment on your home screen on the hd2 without running 2 home screens, if you look in the themes section there is a cab (i forget which but if i find it i will link) that gives you 16 or 20 shortcuts and a calander that shows more than one appointment. The problem i have is how far forward sense is looking for appointments.

As I have stated, 10 future appointments - can be all 10 happening the next day OR these 10 spread out over the next few weeks/months.
There is this option for U to choose :- show the next 10 appointments OR the next 10 days including days without appointments.
.. and, as he clearly states, he is talking about doing it in only one homescreen. Not two, as you are talking about.
geekyhawkes: The author of the cab you are talking about, if I'm not mistaken, is working on showing more appointments on the homescreen.
