Does X1 3G work on US T-mobile? - XPERIA X1 General

I'm wondering if the 3G will work on US T-mobile when they start the service in my area. I read on T-mobile that their 3G will be on 1700 and 2100 MHz frequency. I also read that X1 support 850/1900/2100 Mhz.
I saw numerous article saying that X1 will not support US T-mobile 3G. How does it work exactly since X1 support 2100MHz and T-mobile is providing 2100 MHz?
Can someone please enlighten me?

the 3g aws was 1700 so tmo 3g is 1700 .. soo no tmo 3g for x1. im getting the x1 and am also on tmo. if you want 3g and a touchscreen then g1 is your lesser priced choice. but i would still go with x1 with wifi

A quick search would have provided your answers. T-Mobile run on AWS which is a 1700/2100 MHz pair. The X1 only supports standard 2100 MHz which is used by nearly every other network in the world.

My touch slide on att?

curious to know if any of you guys have your my touch slide on ATT network?
Thanks.
No one has this on AT&T yet?
It just barely released on on T-Mobile. A lot of people aren't willing to pay $430 for a phone if they can't get 3G on it, and the rest are stuck in a T-Mobile contract.
ooh, so they can't get 3g if it's on the ATT network? 430? I've seen tons of them go for 380's, some unlocked as well.
Well, if it doesn't get 3g, I guess it helped me make my mind up to go with the Nexus One.
Thanks
my tmobile - my touch slide unlocked
Got my tmobile - my touch slide unlocked - but it wont get 3G on ATT - is there any way around this issue? is it a matter of the frequencies or what? perhaps someone can explain...
tmobile and at&t are on two different 3g frequencies. A quick google finds this information.
according to info i found on the net:
"In the U.S., T-Mobile and AT&T both use GSM technologies, but there are fundamental incompatibilities in their 3G services. AT&T runs its 2G and 3G services at 850 and 1900 MHz. T-Mobile's 3G service uses 2100 MHz to transmit and 1700 MHz to receive. "
Yet the htc my touch slide supports the following:
Frequency Bands GSM: 850, 900, 1800, 1900
UMTS: 2100
so should work unless article is incorrect -- can someone post the att and tmobile frequencies?

Just with the G1 and mytouch, these phones are specified to use certain bands for 3G and certain bands for edge/2G. This is a Hardware thing. It can support GSM: 850, 900, 1800, 1900 UMTS: 2100, (and 1700 I assume should be in there since tmobile uses 1700 for 3G) But the hardware is built to use ONLY 1700-2100 for 3g.

Could you let us know where you got it unlocked and for how much? There are two phone companies in Canada - Mobilicity and WIND Mobile - who have the same 3G frequencies as T-Mo but no Android phones! And we would love to know where to unlock the MT3G Slide. Thanks!

I have seen plenty that are unlocked and for sale on eBay for roughly 380ish
Can anyone confirm that a particular web site's unlock code worked for the MT3G Slide?
why would you unlock it to use it on a inferior network? especially because 3g will not work EVER! the phones frequencies do not support att 3g

I can't speak for the AT&T poster's intentions, but *Canadians* would unlock it to use the phone on WIND Mobile, Mobilicity and soon Vidéotron, which are all AWS carriers. This is why I'm trying to find out where to unlock the phone successfully.
Ebay it man, they're going unlocked there for about the same as new/no contract at tmobile

Well I figure I'd rather personally know where it came from and unlock it myself. =)
I got my mytouch slide unlocked by blowfish. Email him at [email protected] it cost me $10.50 to get my phone unlocked.

I'm using the slide on a regional carrier that uses the same 3g frequencies as t-mobile. Just because the other major US players don't use the same ones doesn't mean no one else does.
I used cellunlock.net, with 50% off coupon (easy to google, there are lots of them), it was only $10, got the code in 2 hours both times.

T-Mobile US 3G Compatibility

Just wondering if anyone knows or have a European Galaxy S on T-Mobile US 3G. Is it compatible?
Not compatible.
Is the one with 900/1900/2100 hsdpa possible? T-mobile told me long as it has 900 and either 1700 or 2100 I should be fine.

Europian version can be used in USA just fine.
Will it have 3G, I know every version should have 2G coverage.
There are many threads on this.
European 3G uses HSDPA 900/1900/2100. T-Mobile uses AWA 1700 for upload and 2100 for download (or vice versa, don't remember).
So you need both 1700 and 2100 to get fully functional 3g.
You will get voice and 2G though.
This is from what I researched, I have never personally tried it.

HTC HD2 T9193 850 - 1900 Mhz ?????

Hi .. I was searching the forum because I want to purchase an HTC HD2 T9193 which, I know, has the 850 - 2100 Mhz band. But I found on the net a vendor who offers the HTC HD2 850 - 1900 Mhz band, is this right ?
On the other hand, if there is not such HD2 with 850 - 1900 Mhz band, the one with the 850 - 2100 band will pick up 3G in Canada ?
That model (850 / 1900) was supposed to come out (for AT&T most probably), but it has since been cancelled.
I'd be careful if I were you. You can find more info about it here
The Telstra model (T9193) supports 850 / 2100 MHz like you said. You'll need to check with your service provider if they support 850.

Yes. You'll need to check if ATT supports the 850mhz band IN YOUR AREA.
I'm in a North Shore Suburb of Chicago area and have excellent reception with my T9193 in the area. There are 3 dead zones I've found so far that repeatedly drops calls using the HD2's 850mhz band exclusively. Other unlocked phones I've previously owned that used the 1900mhz band exclusively did NOT drop calls in these areas however. Other than that, reception has been great. It's been reported that ATT is "supposedly" moving their entire network to the 850mhz band exclusively by end of 2010. I'm doubtful they are on target for this date given the number of cities still without any 850mhz support.
T9193
Hi guys ...thanks for your responses. Well, I know that the most important service providers in Canada (Rogers, Telus, Fido) transmit 3G in the 850 - 1900 mhz band. I suppose I will not have problems whether I use the T9193

3G or not on the Streak?

Bands :
UMTS 2100 / 1900 / 850 MHz
GSM / EDGE 1900 / 1800 / 900 / 850 MHz
HSDPA / HSUPA:HSDPA 7.2 Mbps / HSUPA 5.76 Mbps
That above is directly from their Tech page. Is it 3G or not.?
http://www.dell.com/content/products/productdetails.aspx/mobile-streak?c=us&l=en&s=corp
i get 3g/h so yea....it is.. /shrug
Yes it is, and work very nice I do download at 200kbps, and by wi-fi around 15mbps.
I never seen before any mobile doing download so quickly.
Sent from my Dell Streak using XDA App
Same here its a lot faster on 3g than the last two wm phones i have this is my first android so dont know about other devices
does anyone know if the 3g/HSDPA will work in europe if i import it from the US?
i'll be in NY for the summer, will i be able to buy it unlocked from a physical store?
thanks
My bad for not stating I was interested in T-Mobile 3G.
Isn't that the 1700/2100 HSPDA band? Did not see that in the tech specs.

The 2100 frequency should work on 3G worldwide, right? I also asked a representative in chat if the Streak will be sold unlocked on their website and the answer is "we don't know yet, check back when the product is actually on the market".
I did not know what was exact, until I read this below
http://www.streaksmart.com/2010/07/dell-streak-with-tmobile-3g-bands-out-in-the-wild.html
I'm sorry if I am repeating information, but I thought I would explain in case anyone else was wondering.
UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA are 3G technologies, so yes its defintiely 3G.
The 2100 MHz support should help the dell Streak work in countries other than the US and on networks other than AT&T. BUT, keep in mind that this will not work with T-Mobile's 3g network.
T-mobile uses 1700/2100, but the 2100 here on the dell shouldn't help much, because the 2100 is used for downloading while the 1700 band is used for uploading, and I'm pretty sure you can't use 3G download without 3G upload connected too. So if a carrier outside the US has a similar setup as T-mobile USA, with the split upload and download bands, then you could find yourself without 3G on that network too.

US t-mobile in germany

hey,
im thinking about buying a t-mobile version of the G2 in the us.
but i thiunk its on the 1700 MHz. or is it also on the 2100MHz ?
because in germany i am on the eplus network and i dont know exactly on what band it is!
anyone having experience with that?
am i able to use the t-mobile g2 on the germany eplus 3G network?
thanks for your help
u should find some info about ur network's bands... if u cant , call them ... im with vodafone europ with tmous hd2 and its working fine with the 2100mhz 3g
Coming from the US, T-mobile has 1700/2100 mhz bands. I believe that means they use both
okay thanks,
i figured out that eplus has 2100 MHz and the phone im thinking about buying should have 1700 / 2100 MHz. so i guess itll work
thanks again!
Here's more footage on that:

The phone will definitely work in all GSM bands (Quadband) and the UMTS/3g Band 1700 MHz and 2100 MHz according to various internet sources.
