Returning Phone Qestion? - Touch CDMA General

I have just purchased the vx6900 as an upgrade a few days ago. I love the phone itself and everything it can do. The problem is there is a prominent clicking sound on the left side and upper right hand corner of the phone. It is the plastic clicking in. I know someone else who has the same one and they do not have this problem. I already upgraded the radio though. Do you still think I can return it, do they check radio? What should I do? If I upgrade to the vzw leaked rom update, will I be alright?

Upgrading?

Hey guys,
My Hermes has a white line down the left side of the screen(bottom side when you slid the keyboard out), it is just a huge white "bar" type thing, for example of how big, everything past the time on the top bar is gone(so my task manager and the "ok" button on programs or the "x" button on programs is unreachable. I have asked for help before, and no one seems to know any fixes. I have flashed different ROMs, no help. It used to be only when I slid the phone up to reveal the keyboard, but now it is stuck there.
So basically, I guess I'm going to get a new phone...any suggestions? I don't think I can wait for the Touch Pro, is there anything comparable?
And I know ATT will give you cheap phones if your current is broken, how can I make it so that I didn't void the warranty or whatever and can get a cheaper upgrade? (Like do I need to only downgrade my ROM or what else?)
Thanks everyone!!!
SPL too... as well as radio rom...
Personally I'd get a replacement LCD. The Hermes may be old but I believe its still one of the top 10 phones...Or get a cheap "broken" phone off ebay for spare parts... Its gotta be cheaper than re-signing a contract for any length of time.
Cheers...

Lower part of screen stopped responding

After 4 months of flawless work, the lower part of the screen (a strip several millimeters from the edge) suddenly stopped responding properly!
E.g., all buttons in this area (including launcher/phone/+ on home screen) either don't work at all, or sometimes activate after a while when strongly pressed with the thumb (orientation doesn't matter).
Just two hours before they responded fine to the index finger.
Also, I've noticed that when I "multi-touch" the lower line in a file browser with two fingers, it works nice! Buttons are too small for that, however
I first tried to restore backup, but it didn't help, of course.
Has anybody had the same problem?? I guess it's a warranty case ...
I would agree, it's probably a hardware problem that you'll have to bring your phone in for service to get fixed.
I'm having that same problem my self, but just now and then. What helped with me is that I press the upper left corner of the phone with my other hand and then the lower part works fine, so i think i should get a new digitizer or its just loose connector.
im having the same problem , i have put up with it for the past few weeks and its driving me nuts now. today i did a factory reset which made no difference , i called htc who didnt sound a bit suprised by my phone call it gets picked up tomorrow morning to go for repair so the question is ... is this a common fault? and how the hell am i gonna cope without my hero in my pocket ?
Yeah happened to mine last week, a few have had the same issue where it's just the launcher bit not responding. Although the good news is that I'm getting it back tomorrow though so it's good times!
I had the same problem with my touchscreen (after a month or so!)
Mine got picked up thursday by HTC and I just checked the tracking site and they just recieved it.
I wonder how long it's going to take
Visited their service center last week.
They've immediately replaced my screen with a new one without any ado. Now everything works as before!
BUT a friend of mine who bought his Hero in January is having similar problems now...
It is a common problem according to HTC.
Mine was repaired in just 10 days.
Same problem here, did htc said anything about this problem? is it a common fault?
thank you
I said it in the post above yours.
ah yes, right, thank you

If they acknowledge it officially, couldn't you provide a link please?
i gave mine last week to repair, they returned to me unfixed. on the paper stated that they only updated the software, what a dumb this htc guys. need to go back and tell them again the same story. im wasting my time only for this. wtf
I recently had this problem. The 3 buttons at the bottom of the screen wouldn't respond, took it into T-Mobile who said I'd have it back within about 7 to 10 days... 3 weeks later I got a text saying I could collect my phone...
On the paper sheet it says they've replaced the lens.. Which I can see they have as before I had a miniscule hairline scratch near the top.
They also mention a software update (1.0.0.A6288)
Either way it works nicely now.
I've recently experienced the same issue - the lower part of the screen, the one where the LauncherPro icons usually are stopped responding to touch. If I press really hard it works sometimes, but it's pretty annoying. I didn't sit on the phone or drop it recently, it just stopped working all of a sudden.
Is there anything I can do, as the phone is out of warranty ?
HTC South Africa gave me a new hero after I took mine in for the 3rd time. Hardware problem. Very happy with their service.
i have this exact same problem, is the only solution to send to htc? >_> Cuz my warranty's out already unfortunately... i flashed my hero to CyanogenMod 7 and it seems to have helped, but still not completely responsive... I also have a problem where at times i completely lose control of my touch screen where the spots i touch seem to respond to opposite sides of the screen... anyone else?
Remove battery, Remove sim card. put a dryer on the htc logo for about 40 mins. put the phone under a heavy object. Let it dry for about 15 mins and your fixed.
^ wtf do u mean?... are u just being a gimp...

Anyone have wobble?

When pressing the left bottom corner of the screen, when it is extended? It sorta makes a clicking noise, the right side bottom corner is very solid.I ordered a replacement.I hope the same problem doesnt persist. My friends phone has the same problem. Also the battery cover is pretty lackluster always at a certain part is doesnt close fully.Just wondering if anyones phone screen is solid on both bottom corners of the screen when extended.
I have the same prob. was thinking about sending my phone in BUT first wanted to see if I could find a torque driver small enough to tighten the screws and see if that helps. Hate to send it back now that ive got it rooted and everything. Are they sending you the same phone? Did they say the new one wouldnt have this problem or did they even know?
I don't think the screws will do anything ,they are sending the same phone, but I won't know if fixed untill phone comes
.
well got new phone no wobble at all so to those that have it get it replaced
Well let us know if it starts to do it again. I tightened the screws today and it did nothing so guess ill send mine in maybe.

[Q] Squeaky Back?

I have a T-Mobile Galaxy S5, and the back has been very squeaky. It seems that, if you are looking at its back, the left-center edge, right below the power button, doesn't completely seal.
A few days after I got the device, I noticed the squeaking. It's pretty annoying; whenever you grip the phone, it has the plastic-on-plastic sound annoying squeak. I went into T-Mobile and they swapped out the back panel, which seemed to solve the problem. However, I noticed the left-center edge still didn't quite seal properly. A few days later, it started to become squeaky again.
I was about to have the phone completely swapped out--T-Mobile took a new phone out of the box, but I noticed it had the same flaw on the left-center side. I opted not to swap it, since I figured the same damn thing would happen again.
Does anyone else have an issue like this? I'm worried it's not waterproof, and it feels really flimsy for a $650 phone.
Thanks!

I think it might just be all in your head man. :cyclops:
Same things happened to me bro, swapped it twices, and still same noisey back, so i rooted the phone, installed xposed installer, downloaded the module "Squeak fix [KK]", rebooted, (don't hot boot because sound will still persist) and i know your not gonna believe this, but when i entered my pin, got into the home screen... Squeak was gone. Unbelievable.

Same thing
Finally found someone with the same problem as me but on the sound button. The middle of left side under the sound button has a gap and the phone is really squeaky. Can anyone give me a fix I don't want to root my phone?

Lollipop is supposed to eliminate this issue, along with the camera battery drain, I can't wait for lollipop!!!! This dumb squeak is bothering me, I can't text at night because my mom wakes up due to squeakiness...

Top Speaker Not Working...

The last week or so I'm having trouble with my top speaker or the left speaker. I don't know what happened to it, it just stopped working. I've tried different kernels and cleaning it with air. I hope it's not a hardware problem and something that is easily fixed. I was wondering if anyone else has heard or run into this problem with their device. If so I'd love any suggestions, thank you.
Have you tried returning to factory stock? Sounds like it's hardware related.
I just received my 6p last week. Top speaker does not work at all. Also, when in a call, speaker phone the other end cannot hear me at all.
I already initiated an RMA.
Mine is a hardware issue. I am still 100% stock. Google told me I had to RMA it with the store I purchased it from or go through Huawei. First time I've heard that. Though, since I just did purchase I'm still within the 14 day window to go through the place I purchased from.

No not yet....I'm trying to see if other's have had this problem and have had a fix other than return it or factory reset. I'll give it another week or so and try. Thanks for the reply.

I really hope it's a software issue, I'm overseas and sending it back really isn't an option. Thank you for the reply, I hope your new one doesn't have the same problem.

I had to return it and I got it back fixed...Doesn't sound good for your situation.
I really do love the 6P. Next time I will only be buying through Google though.
