Turn Bluetooth ON/OFF from Today?

Is there any programs that will let me turn Bluetooth & WiFi on/off directly from the today screen?
By directly I mean a toggle switch rather than a link to the settings page?
Anyone know of one? I've got SPB PockePlus installed, but that doesn't seem to have that option in there?

Create a link (.lnk) to the .exe. Put all the arguments you need in it. Use the link with pocketPlus.

How do I create a link/shortcut on the PPC though, I have no option in the context menus?

Start > Programs > File Explorer
tap&hold on the ap, choose "Copy"
tap&hold in an empty area, choose "Paste Shortcut"
I recommend using Total Commander instead. It has a built-in simple text editor, which makes it easier to edit that shortcut than opening it up in Pocket Word and whatnot.

And for very specialist markets, where an app that won't let you use shortcuts at all, try VJBrisk.

Just on the look out for some Bluetooth icons to show on or off. Also, any progress on getting the wifi to work without have to enable it first via comm manager?

Go here and register for modaco if you are not a member in order to download the attachment. It is a small program that toggles bluetooth. I usually use my voice command to run it although you could put it in your start menu or on your today screen I guess if you want it there.

Auto update SIM contacts
My SIM card is an emergency backup if my phone becomes unusable. I would like an application that automatically adds new contacts and updates any changed contacts from the phone to the SIM card.

What would be great to have in a ppc:
1. a finger friendly RSS viewer in A_C style able to play videos, sounds and display html articles without link to a Pocket Internet Explorer page
2. a finger friendly internet explorer. NetFront is the best one i saw for ppc but a Safari "remake" (not Safari-like) would be great. I saw in my wife's iphone and i can say it's the BEST internet browser ever.
3. a "webmail" client, i don't know how to explain this. It's also an iphone idea. Somewhat like a RSS reader, with which you login in your mailbox without the "push" thing. And then it works like a "refresh" on a webpage.
4. a slideshow (for a picture browser just like A_C's S2V) with "really" nice transitions effects, for entertaining purposes
5. a calendar app just like ThumbCal but with all the views and fields available in WM Calendar with one more feature. The ability to share an appointment (via sms for example) with another WM user who got the same app (so eventually installing this calender it will add a feature to the sms software to "add the received event")
Maybe it's too much oh, and:
6. if there is a WM app to let my contacts with address become a POI for the famous navigation softwares (MioMap, Tomtom, Navigon, etc.) it would be great.

He wants the contacts copied from Outlook to the SIM card automatically. That is, he adds contacts to Outlook, then, without any effort on his part, on some regular schedule, the app should look in Outlook and find new contacts and copy them to the SIM card.
I don't see in the PIMBackup thread that it is capable of this.

Better Device Password App
This has been suggested before...most recently I saw it in the S2U2 thread....
What I need is a better device password app....or maybe just an app that lets us skin the default WinMo password function. I absolutely love S2U2, but there is really no "security" about it. Anyone can unlock my phone with no issues. I have also tried using both S2U2 and the default password function. Works, but not smooth by any means.
Someone suggested modifying S2U2 to be like the iPhone's unlock function (gasp!). For that, you slide first, then are prompted for a pin code. That would be the perfect, best of both worlds, app.
Back in the WM2003 days, there were several apps like this (e.g., NiceStart, 1-Pass), but nothing since. There is PocketSecure, which is a great app, by a good developer, but right now it does not meet my needs (notification issue).

There is no topic (at least nothing anywhere near recent) for Pocket Secure...and A_C has announce that he is done with S2U2 development for a while....thus I put it here.
This could be a call for a new app....but you are the OP, so you control the Poll

Thank you for your reply Dr.Mazika. Can't install the Opera 9.5 beta from an old link found on XDA because it (probably) counted the days i used Opera 8 trial in the past. So 0 days left and i couldn't find any other link about it (they don't even sell it?).
About the software already on the stage, you are right i should ask features there, but i am thinking that with more features something like thumbcal will lose its purpose: "tap tap et voilà, you are busy tomorrow night", and it won't be like that if it becomes full of options and features (althought maybe the views are possible).

I have been looking for the message screen colours to be inverted. I love the black themes and it would be so much better to just have black screen with white message. Im sure this couldnt be so hard to do for someone with experience??? would it?​

i 2nd tat, but there should be some screen saver to superseed the default win password screen..just in case, somebody hardreset ur phone.

i would love to have a more comfortable Network-Tool,
maybe providing ping, ipconfig, telnet, (i know there's a nice putty version but it has no lan config tools) tracert, route tracert etc.^^
so i don't know if this is possible or if it has allready been realised, as you metioned just a suggestion..

I 3rd that, a device unlocking program to be used with your fingers would be realy great. Suggesting a name also "P2U (Pass to unlock)"

Only know of SK Today Commander which allows you to configure multiple Today profiles, meaning you could have the same plugin on each of your Today profiles but you can only use one profile at a time. Same plugin on the same Today profile shown twice?? Nope, I don't think that's possible, but I may be wrong...

Let's say one profile for portrait and another one for landscape, and it would switch auto. on rotation ? That would be very cool for themes

Have you tried Ultimatelaunch - I know you can put multiple plugins on one page; however, have not tried to put the same plugin twice.

OK, I was successful in having the window's live search today plugin twice on the same page using UltimateLaunch. To do so you must create a new page with combination tabs - Just to add two today plugins. It worked for me.

Use Samsung Time. You can press and hold the clock to access the settings. You can choose your choice of 2 time zones. I have attached it for you.

You can display a plugin only once on a screen. Some launchers, like WAD, have a portrait and landscape view. Either way, even if you had the same plugin twice, it can only be configure once, so you would just have a duplicate.

As I mentioned earlier, I did have the exact same plugin working twice on the same page using Ultimatelaunch. I agree though, that they would both be configured exactly the same. I did not test using a different plugin on the same page twice, how it would react. I have one page in my ultimatelaunch setup displaying 2 different plugins and it works great; however, personally have no need to display the same plugin twice on the same page.

Hey, that would be sweet. Might be worth a try. (Perhaps a new thread is warranted for this though?) Better do some reading first to see if this has already been done.

I've actually thought about this. I think it would be cool to have 2 rotating cubes of ultimate launch on the today screen. That would make ultimate launch the ultimate app for me!

I'm sure there is a lot more than changing the name. Plugins use .dll's for configuration.

Yes there is. It involves a bolt-on application but I can't remember exactly what it is called - SSMaPa rings a bell, but that may do something else.
I found it quite easily by searching and I would recommend you do the same. Try the Diamond Forum, but you might even find something in this Forum

Question about SPB Mobile and Thumbcall

Hey there,
I've been using my Diamond for about 2 weeks now. At first I wasn't all that excited about the device, but since I started using the SPB Mobile Shell it started changing. Now I also have Thumbcall which I find a pretty nice Calender substitue.
Now the question from me to you is:
Can I integrate Thumbcall into SPB?
What I mean is that when I click on 'Organizer' -> 'Calender' and anything beyond that then it not opens the standard WiMo calender but Thumbcall. Is this possible?
I did a little search prior to this thread offcourse but only had one hit, which I don't understand fully. Click

EDIT : I have set Thumbcall to the default calender, but this doesn't help.
EDIT : Haven't reinstalled any of the 2 programs.
EDIT : I'm using Thumbcal 1.2.5

Open Thumbcall:
Menu > Extras > Settings > Set as default calendar
Done.

Stupid stupid me, I forgot to mention I have set that option. But still it opens in the WiMo Calender.
Will also update the startpost with this info.

I disabled TF3D and when I go to the calender via the Today screen it does openup Thumbcall, why doesn't it do it via SPB then ?

Ok, I realise I had not read your post correctly before. I think the easiest would be to add new links pointing to Thumbcal inside the organizer (If you go to /Windows/Start Menu/Programs there's a directory with some Thumbcal links. Use these).
It's possible that the organizer wont let you add new links. To change that, go to HKLM\Software\Spb Software House 2\Spb Mobile Shell\Menu\Root\Organizer and create a Dword 'Add' with value 1. Now you should be able to add new links in organizer.

EDIT: I partially found what i was looking for. I have added the Thumbcall links to the menu (didn't even know i could add like that). But is it also possible I can add 'Week view' and 'Month view' to this? These two options are not in the first directory you mentioned. Thnx so far, this rulez! Just loving my Diamond, WiMo, SPB more and more
