XV6900 Backlight problem- registry key - Touch CDMA General

So I was testing out some of the SPB shell and today screen programs and after uninstalling them my backlight setting to adjust intensity no longer works.
Does anyone have any infor on the following registry key
Hkey_local_machine\ControlPanel\Backlight
What I have listed is
(Default) (value not set)
Redirect
Any help is appreciated. I'd like to try to resolve this without a hard reset.

Fixed.....
I reinstalled spb pocket plus- verified the backlight settings worked
Uninstalled
and the default backlight adjuster still works.
Must have not fully uninstalled properly the first time.

Disabling Auto-Power off

The application I'm developing needs the device to always remain on, even until the battery runs out, so I need to disable the auto power off feature if it has been enabled.
I've tried using
Code:
SystemParametersInfo(SPI_SETBATTERYIDLETIMEOUT,...);
but it just doesn't work. Returns success but nothing changes, not even the registry keys where the values are held. I found the registry settings in HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\Timeouts, and played around with setting them, but they aren't picked up until a soft reset occurs which isn't a viable solution.
So the first thing I need to know is what the difference between the reg keys
HKLM\System\CCS\Control\Power\Timeouts\BattSuspendTimeout:dword
and
HKLM\System\CCS\Control\Power\BattPowerOff:dword
are.
They both seem to contain the same value, and similar names.
The second thing I need to know is what needs to be done to notify the system that the idle timeout has changed, and to reload the value from the registry. I tried an HWND_BROADCAST of WM_SETTINGCHANGED but to no avail. How does the system dialog where you can change the idle timeouts inform the system those values have changed??
Thanks,
Timbo.

Hidden controlpanel items

Hi!
I got my mda pro some weeks ago. Now i had a strage issue as I hard reseted the device: it showed some items in the controlpanel menu, that were not there before like: GPS settings, Contrast...
On the next reset they were gone again.
Does anybody know, how i can unhide them again? Is there a registry entry? a key combination?
thanks in advance
(please excuse my desastrous english)
just as an experiment i found the Contrast key in the reg, up in the list from the gps fix one
HKEY_LOCAL_MASCHINE\ControlPanel\
i added dword Group with dec value of 1, logiclly thinking that would make 2nd tab in ctrl panel disply the contrast key
removed the redirect value there,
powered off, waited 10 seconds, held power and hit reset,
Wow, now i got a contrast option in the system page of settings!!!
only thing is tho, moving the slider has bog all difference, think i'll undo that change and remove a useless applet

Registry edits get reverted after reset

Does anybody know why this happens:
Whenever I change registry (for example HKCU\Control Panel\SIP\..), after reboot it gets reverted to original value.
I used Total Commnader. Roms I tried: 2.17 (qtek) and 2.24 (cingular).
Help appreciated.
Thanks.
after changing your registry, be sure to save the changes by a soft reset. To do this, do NOT poke the reset hole with your stylus, but rather shut the device down with the on/off button. Hold it for 5 secs untill the warning pops up. By resetting this way, your device uses the 5 secs untill the screen pops-up to write the registry to the ROM. If you soft reset immediately with your stylus after chaning the registry, the device has not enough time to write the changes to the ROM. Therefore, after a quick soft reset with your stylus changes might not be saved and the registry remains unchanged.
Problems with Registry settings
I also have problems with Registry settings. For instance some values seems to change back after a turn off/on (power button). Does anyone have a good doc/link that explains which Registry settings that actually can be changed by CAB-files and stay changed ?
Just to mention - on an SP5 (sorry for this in Wizard/K-JAM) I had a CAB-file that changed the Contacts soft-button into starting a 3rd party application. This only changed when an incomming call/phone application was started..a little confused about that

Disable autorotation on Omnia 2

Hello everyone,
I have mapped Button2 to manually trigger screen rotation (done by SKTools, however key HideOrientationUi = 0). Done soft reset and that button is working, but auto rotation is still rotating my screen as well. I have tried to modify hklm\Software\Autorotation and key "disable" set to 1, but it did not help (after soft reset that value changed back to 0).
Could someone suggest how to proceed in order to get rid of auto-rotation?
btw. I am running on winmo 6.5.x
Thank you in advance.
Try using PHM Regedit.
Go to HKLM/Software/AutoRotation.
There you have all aplications that rotate automatically. You can remove them.
OR
Just open the file explorer, go to /Windows/startup folder and delete autorotation.lnk.
I have noticed that if Opera is running in the background everything starts rotating automaticailly but stops once opera is closed.
Yep, Opera is the culprit. There's no fix for it aside from closing it every time or switching to IE.

Please help me with automatic rotation : )

I've got a problem : when my phone is ringing, the automatic rotation works. So, for example, when I draw the phone out of my pocket to pick-up, it often rotates horizontally and I incidentally press the "hang up" button. I have no idea witch program exactly is causing this, but please tell me how to disable the automatic rotation oh phone ring. I have Gyrator and BSBTweaks installed and I've searched, but I haven't managed to do it.
:? Anyone?
Since you are using Gyrator, you must have set it to rotate all apps. If you don't want your Dialer to rotate automatically, then you must make sure that cprog is included in the exception list.
Rather than use Gyrator, I would suggest you update your registry with the G-Config Whitelist. Just make sure that cprog is not in that list.
You can find the G-Config entries in the link below.

There're s no such thing as an 'exeptions list' in Gyrator, but I don't use it all the time. I suppose the problem is in BSBtweaks - I tried adding "phone" to the rotating apps there and then removing the check-mark, but it didn't work. Then I tried downloading the file you suggested, but even after adding it to the registry the phone would still rotate when someone's calling. I'm starting to feel in a dead end here :/
Check the program (phone / cprog) in BSB Tweaks and then hit the Options softkey below and click on Remove Selected Apps.
Soft Reset and you should be fine. Make sure you that Gyrator does not startup again.
Damn. I did exactly as you told, but it didn't work out. The thing is, even after I remove a program from the "rotation" list in BSBTweaks, it is back there again after soft reset. So I've decided to uninstall the program, then to apply the registry file you mentioned earlier again and then to reset the phone. But even then, when I rotate the phone during a call, the display rotates ;/ I'm starting to wonder if there's something else forcing it to do so, but I'm not in the mood for hard reset ;/
The REG file I linked you to contains most of the programs that people could install that would need rotation INCLUDING the phone.
BSB Tweaks was supposed to help you to remove the phone entry without going into the registry.
Ok, nevermind that.
Uee any registry editor and go to
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\HTCSENSOR\GSensor\WhiteList]
Delete "Phone/Lock/Compose/Pictures"="Dialog"
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\HTCSENSOR\GSensor\ModuleName]
Delete "Phone/Lock/Compose/Pictures"="\\Windows\\cprog.exe"
That should fix it. Make sure that you don't have Gyrator / ChangeScreen / any other rotation program installed.
