Ive been looking for a way to not have the browser go to htc.com when you push launch browser on the internet tab from touchflo. Ive tried removing it from opera as default start page but it still goes to htc.com when i launch it from touchflo.
any ideas?
I had this issue too. Just use a registry editor (e.g. http://freewareppc.com/download/utilities/phmregistryeditor.shtml ) and search for the string "www.htc.com" or go directly to:
HKLM/Software/HTC/Manila2D/InternetWidget/Customized/
and change the BannerURL and BannerURLText to any Site you want, I use www.google.com/m ..

IMO 9beta is more convenient for browsing thanks to the double click for zooming.

It not only work for jade, it works for my elfin.
Now I'm watching the posts here and hope we can get good cooked rom for jade. If yes, I'm trade in my elfin and get the jade in hand.
reg key doesn't work here..
I've searched the registry for htc.com but no joy here. No manila2d on this unit.
Anyone else found a solution to this nagging problem where only "Manila" exits and no htc.com to change? Searched every other htc.com value/key/data also, but nothing seems to prevent the htc.com page from loading up when launching the opera browser.

Navigate to \Application Data\Manila and find a file called “InternetPortal-en-US.xml” and edit that to whatever you want your home page to be.

open your browser, surf to your fav page, press the star item on the lower left, press the big "PLUS", and then add.

Mine has all the favourites at the "Internet" tab that I added in my browser (Opera). Its listed below the earth logo and YouTube. You have to scroll down (touch flip screen up) to see al the listings. It should be the same as All Bookmarks.

Ok, now I get it. As some bookmarks are in there right from the hard reset, it seems as if they are listed first, and all other bookmarks come up below. So just scroll down and you will see them.
Second way: Lower left, there should be something like "all bookmarks" on the touchscreen. Choose this one and you will get to your bookmarks directly:

I still wonder why some bookmarks are listet alphabetically, some not. Might be if the name of the bookmark contains a dot, like faz.net or so? Anyone an idea?

If you have M2DC, check the Internet Tab. It should have \windows\operaL.exe as default (or whatever browser you prefer)
OR
Check HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila2D\InternetWidget\OperaEXEFile
it should have \windows\operaL.exe there.

Thanks....the problem was that I had install a Opera Beta version which I don't know why but it didn't add the favorites at the bottom. So I installed a older version of Opera and when I go on a website and add it to my favorites, it appears at the bottom...

I've had my 3G for all of 24 hours so bear with me.
I followed the instructions at the reference and successfully edited the file... to no effect.
Do I need to tweak the registery as well?

This is a great free today plugin 'TodayAgenda 0.9.9' by Marcel Tiews - its better than calendar + and very configurable and also shows all your tasks due etc.... It has a small footprint and works in qvga and vga resolutions.
Copy cab to device via activesync, click on file through file explorer, install to device - will load better as its a today plugin.

Is there a web page for it? I may wanted to try it out. PocketBreeze is a bit slow on my already slowed Charmer. However, I tried a lot of other plugins and PBzz is currently the best on for the price of $10.
One of the thing I like about PBzz is the integration of the Tasks and Appointments on the same screen, and birthdays too. Further, I found the others annoying is the fact that they named tomorrow just like any other date, which may undermined the importance of that particular task tomorrow. Hence, everytime I was looking at my Today screen, I have to particularly check todays date to ensure that if the next task/app on the screen is tomorrow or not.

Thats something your end - firewall or antiviral causing that. It downloads fine for me - try downloading on your wizard through internet explorer.
Ok. I've tested it. My comments as mentioned above,
It doesn't show tomorrow as 'Tomorrow' and, it doesn't even show today as 'Today'. Maybe someone would talk to the author and ask him to make those changes, which is, in my opinion a very good improvement.
But other than that, it is a very good today plugin.

Copy the cab file over to the device via activesync - place in \my documents on your phone - click on the cab file through file explorer on the device. Install to device not storage card. Do not unzip the file - cab file is a self installing archive.

Click and hold on the panel in the today screen - and an option dialog will come up - you can change that through this.
** theres a website that changes the windows mobile style to an iphone style , not with some theme files on WAD or WA2 but with the same function on iphone and its called Flash User Interface (FUI) , so its based on flash type files . u can change pages by scrolling fingers just like cube . u wont feel uncomfortable with this like theme files . **

I've been using it since first Alpha, but I'm afraid I don't really follow your question. The first thing I would do is make sure that I had all of the current release files. You can find those by going here.

Basically just download the full package to a folder on your desktop. Call it "FUI" or "FreeStyl" (the new name). Then download all three of the update packages and extract them over top of the first files you downloaded. In fact, here, I've gone ahead and done it for you. It's attached to this email. Just extract the zip file to a folder on your device. To run the program, just run FUIStarter. That should launch the server and the Flash based interface. Oh yeah, you will need Adobe Flash Lite installed to. You can snag that by going to Adobe's website.
You might want to consider posting a request for help in the WNAIP forums too. If you want more icons, there are a couple of different icon packs that have been created too. You can find those on the WNAIP forums as well.

The forum isn't really all that different than any other I've seen. The files are all in the thread stickied at the top called [Files] Consolidated Downloads Thread. Granted, it would make more sense to have the main download package updated to include all the updated files. And perhaps the organization could be improved a bit, but I've also seen worse.

I've got htc home and o2 plus.
Edit: Don't worry i'm being a pleb. Added it to tray icons in battery status. Now i just need a shortcut back.

Well I suppose you could put an icon to the FUIstop program. That SHOULD stop the server and all, not certain it will close out the UI though. There is also an exit button on the last configuration screen with the iconconfig. That will exit the UI but still leaves the server running. For that matter, I think you can hit the end button on your phone and it will dump you back to the today screen. My phone isn't on me at the moment or I would test that and confirm.

Yep i've gone for the using the hang up button. its a bit slow though so for now i'll stick to tapping my file explorer icon and go from there

Easily solved:
Go to wisbar settings, press Taskbar, go to the 'Other' tab, and UNcheck 'The network icon uses the default icon' (aswell as the phone icon and optionally the notification icon)

Wisbar isnt ment to be that finger friendly (yet), however you can enable an option to make the icons bigger then pressed, exactly the way touchflo does
i really love your theme but its a shame that wisbar is so finger unfriendly...
i deinstalled it with a tear in my eye
if been trying to download the file from your site tryed about six times always hangs halfway through the download :c dont know if its my pc or your server :s
anyway would realy appriciate if someone could mirror the file...

I think it works but you have to press the icon at the very left side of it.
It's a small bug in Wisbar.

probably my server. Updated the download page (which keeps track of the number of downloads), it only allowed 30 seconds before timing out - explaining the lost connection. Changed it to 9999999 seconds, will that be enough ?

when you add a contact to your favourites, you have to choose which number or email adress you want to add. So you always have only one button per contact: mail, sms, or call. This is very irritating, because I call, text, AND mail my favourite contacts (perfectly normal I would think).
Is there a mod that allows you to have multiple options per favourite contact, so you can select what you want?
I hope I have been clear enough, English is not my first language

Well I can tell u that I have access to all those options (call, txt, mail, etc.) through my favorites. When I press on my favorite, another screen comes up with all of those options so yeh, sounds like there is a glitch in the Rom. Do u have the standard manila or the HD manila?
After rereading ur message, I realize your problem. I believe u are misunderstanding what the program will eventually do. Upon setup, it asks u to pick one contact # but what u will quickly realize is that when u select that favourite in the future now, all those options will made available to u. Well, at least they do for me...

I also have acces to all options in the windows environment when I press on my favourite. But the problem is that I only have one option when I'm in manila.
When I add a new favourite it asks me which number or e-mail I want to add. When I select them all it just chooses the first in the list (calling). So I only have one button, whereas I would like to have one for calling, texting AND one for mailing.

I know the options are available in windows when I click the contact, but I would like them to be available in manila too, like in the screenshot posted in this thread.

This is a screenshot that I found, not my own, I have a vodafone theme, but it does show what I mean. You only see a button for calling that contact, and not multiple buttons like in the screenshot posted before.

Well, regardless of Rom, it sounds like u might have the standard manila and not the HD manila which would have the extra (Stock) tab. Any who, this should work. Another option is to get another rom from the forum here but don't forget to Hard-Spl before doing any upgrades.

The rom I am currently using has Hd manilla add ond stocks & weather, but not the contacts favourites options like displayed in the image in the zip file I attatched.
Sorry for the misunderstanding. I wasn't talking about he image that was previously shown with the multiple options under favorites as synonyms with HD. I was saying that when I press onto the favorites tab, I get all those option through a different window.
I installed manila HD, but that doesn't solve it. Ekksman, where did you find that screenshot?

You do relaize, that tapping on the photo gives you a list what to do (offers me to call, send text, visit website and what not)?
Not the same as the picture, but handy nevertheless.

Same here and no luck myself.....love the browser but can't stand the default mobile view...
The answer? Download skyfire browser from market....on the Vibrant it appears that Skyfire just layers over regular browser (both run simutaneously) and you can still use the regular "Web" icon, but with the skyfire settings.....i'm using it and loving it right now
The phone's default user agent is set to "mobile device" or something like that. Someone needs to either mod the browser to allow different user agents, like desktop browser, or needs to port over Loccy's browser.
Or you can use Steel, Dolphin, etc...
I posted this reply in a thread on the T-Mobile.com forums, so just in case it helps someone here, I'm copying and pasting...
Caution: We tried googling for a solution to enable desktop mode by default on the browser and found instructions on a few sites that had you enter "about:debug" in the browser address field, then hitting go, then going into Menu > More > Settings and scrolling to the bottom where you'd see another set of options under "Debug." From there, you would change UAString to "Desktop", however, this resulted in the browser crashing every time it was loaded.
We had to Hard Reset to get browser functionality back.
Note, I had heard a guy mention having the same experience in a Youtube video a while back when trying to change this setting on the unlocked Galaxy, but I was kinda hoping I'd get lucky with the Vibrant.

The Phone's User Agent is :
Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.1-update1; en-us; SGH-T959 Build/ECLAIR) AppleWebKit/530.17 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/530.17
So basically the websites simply look for Android in that and say oh that's a phone, give them the mobile site.
try entering "about:debug" in the address field. Then go to browser settings. You should see an option where you can change the user agent to "desktop".
about:debug will make your browser crash all the time and then you have to clear the data for the browser in manage application to get it to work again. It doesn't work.

in manage applications press menu again and you will see running apps, 3rd party apps and all apps... select all apps and you will be able to see all apps on phone to manage data, clear caches, and restore defaults and such

OR you can go the easy route and click the menu button while the browser is open, click on more and settings..

Consider Dolphin Browser HD
I can see no drawback at all in using Dolphin Browser HD on this phone. It didn't perform too well on the G1. But works great on the Vibrant. Gestures, tabbed browsing, mobile view/desktop view, plugins etc.

Tried that myself last week, easy solution is go to manage applications, filter ALL apps and look for the browser app and just hit reset/clear or something like that. Didn't have to reset device.
