When i walk into my apartment at school i always have 2-3 bars of service but if i ever lose signal whether it is just random hiccup in the system or when i soft-reset it seems unable to re aquire signal and just shows that i can't connect the network.
Does anyone have any ideas?
I upgraded to Windows Mobile 6.1 and it still does the same thing

For some reasons, I am having problems connecting to their GPRS server when the connection bars are full(4 bars on the phone). I am using the MDA with cingular service, but I am sure the settings are correct. I've even installed a 8125 rom and used it's settings..
I live in houston, and work a few miles from basicly it's business center, and a few more miles from downtown. Cingular has excelent coverage in my area, all Edge, and G3 is also availiable.
The problem is that I am having no problems with the phone side, but the internet keeps disconnecting or not reading at all? How can this be? Aren't they on the same band? I have to "search for network" in the phone settings to get GPRS to connect, but then the internet will only work for a few minutes and stop working again. The E symbol with the transfer animation is still there, through the animation is not active, meaning the phone is connected right? So why isn't my internet working? I am really at a lost of what to do.,
Is this a problem with mobile internet or is it my phone?
The bars only tell you something about the carrier.
So the carrier is good, it doesn't mean the GPRS/UMTS in working properly.
You still can face problems like no IP-adres, Gateway, DNS etc.
Occasionally I have the same probs in Holland, but then I disconnect/reconnect is sufficient to resolve the problem.
(disconnect by holding the "end call" button for a couple of seconds.
Maybe you have some interference in the neighbourhood?
Try another part of town, if that doesn't help, visit a service center and see if they have a device that can connect normally.
Or maybe you know somebody with a working Universal to test at your place?
If there was an interferencem would it only affect certain carriers or all GSM carriers?
Also, the holding the end call button doesn't seem to work in disconnecting and reconnecting?
I am a relatively new HD2 user (just a few weeks) and I need to ask other users to know what is "normal" with the HD2.
Brief background. My HD2 shipped with 1.48. I flashed to 1.66 via HSPL, used it for a couple of weeks of perfect normal function. No connection issues, but the 1.66 ROM lacks much over Dutty's HG v.08, so I flashed to Dutty's hard reset, and then my service provider began having problems with the data network.
I am not sure what is normal for connection. When I connect via EDGE, the "E" is solid, and there is a smaller "E" in the upper right of the notification area for connections. When I cannot connect the larger "E" is grayed out/dim and the area where the small "E" would be on connection is replaced with a standard connection tower icon. In this scenario, no connection takes place.
If I go to the Wireless controls, the "Data" connection is dimmed in this event, and if I try to connect, it will give me an attempt, with double arrows, and then fail. i assume this is normal when the network is not functioning properly?
I am on a mixed network, where some areas have 3G and others have only EDGE. Should I leave the 3G switch on "Automatic" (on) or should I stay on GSM?
Normally once I get connected, if I restart, or soft-reset, the connection will be lost, and I will have to go through the process again...after some minutes (10 or so) the phone will often connect to EDGE, with the large "E" and smaller "E" and I always have all the bars, so I am sure the signal is strong.
Is this just my network, or I am I doing something wrong?
Should my phone automatically connect to my data connection on startup?
I apologize If this seems rambling. I just do not know what is normal. Coming form Symbian, my other phones always connected to my data connection on startup without being asked to do so.
I want to rule out any possible ROM issues, because I do not THINK it is related to Dutty's ROM, because I have had it work normally sometimes. What do you think?
It won't connect by itself after a reboot, but it will as soon as a program tries to get something from the internet.
The "large" logo shows the connection is available, but not connected. Once the "small" logo appears, it's connected.

In this case, is the large "E" gray in the notification area, with a small tower on the right side of it?
The solid E with tower is what I said, EDGE available but not connected. Now to the "grey" one... good question. I've seen it too, but when I do and try to connect it instantly becomes solid and connects.
Ran into some weird issues this weekend with my wifi connection with my focus.
The phone would randomly disconnect from my home network (strong signal, secured) and connect to an open network with weak signal. I would find this out as I would try to do something that required data and it would just hang and do nothing, I would have to go into settings and disconnect from the open network, reconnect to mine.
Frustrating that there was no way to force it to use our home network or to forget the other network and it stay forgotten.
Anyone had any similar issues. It was just this one day it did it, but was incredibly frustrating. I'm still within my 30 days, so if this is going to be an ongoing issue, I might should reurn the thing for something else.
I'm having an issue that just sprung up today. My mobile data is not working but shows as connected (under About Phone -> Status it shows as connected to HSPA and has an IP address). In addition, the phone is constantly searching for a GPS lock even after a fresh reboot. If I walk outside so that the phone can get a GPS lock data starts working for a short time, but once I'm back inside (still 5 bars of signal) data stops working again. It is not signal related as if I disable GPS and go outside the phone still does not work.
I am on T-Mobile and have tried the SIM in another phone which is able to connect with no issues. Any idea what could be going on that the phone is unable to use mobile data if I do not have a GPS lock? SMS/voice works fine at all times.
Edit: Also, the signal indicator will occasionally turn blue like it has a connection to Google services, but I still cannot access any web pages or get to any e-mail that is not already cached.
It happened 4 times on my Note 3 in the last 10 days. I'm home or at work under wifi. Go out and try to use mobile data and I get an error message that I have no connection. Yet my LTE signal shows 50% and above in signal strength. I tried to turn on airplane mode to turn it off to force my phone to latch onto the closest cell tower and it's still doesn't fix the issue. If it happens while I try to upload some files, I check my email or try to browse the web and it confirms that I have no working connection to the web. I end up rebooting my phone and it fixes the issue. It's as if the phone is still looking for my wifi connection and "forgets" to switch to cellular connection once I leave the building. I know there is a setting under wifi that says to auto switch between wifi and mobile network but it doesn't seem to make a difference.
