DEAD! - Harrier.....help - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 ROM Development

Hey.
I inadvertently applied Explode's WM6.1 ROM to a New Zealand Telecom 'Harrier' (CDMA) belonging to a friend. I know this ROM isn't compatible with CDMA but I didn't realise it was a Harrier at the time.....until it was too late and now the PDA just hangs at the 3 colour stripe boot screen.
Does anyone know how to reset / rollback / install the original NZ Telecom ROM - I've got the files from the appropriate wiki but they are in .cab format (no windows installer) and as the PDA is stuck on boot screen I can't see how to install the .cab's!
Any help mucho appreciated

can you initiate flash procedure ?
put the device in bootloader mode, than run the original harrier 2003SE update, which will overwrite radio extrom and imgfs and the device should be working after that

Unfortunately.......the ROM from here is corrupt!!! Do you (or anyone) know of another location where I might dl one please? I've had a good Google but can't locate one.....
Cheers for any help.

P.S. This device isn't used as a phone anymore - just a PDA/PPC so I'm guessing the rom doesn't need to be NZ specific.

That is the Verizon rom upgrade. I think it is also the newest Harrier rom.

hello, I got it from http://www.yorch.net/ but I use an US version of XDA, for me it's hard to say whether it suits Asian hardware version, my rough guess is that Radio Stack version shall be different .... unfrtunately I have never came across the Asian hardware version
but before making any upgrades read that forum, e.g.

and also the other threads just to double check

Tks Monika,
But I see that you are using WM2003 T-mobile ROM 4.00.21.
From Yorch, 4.00.21 is only nbf file which is not nb1 so that I can't use the SD method for upgrading.
Any hint?

p.s ive found it to be quite stable so far but seems to run kinda slower then v4.00.11 but it has improved features

few questions
I have US tmobile Pocket PC Phone so it is type B so I flashed with no problem with 4.01.00 (RUUv2.04b_CEv4.01.00wwe_VS_Ozone_Test_(Integrate_Radio_6.24.01).exe) so I think that this soft will work fine with Monika's XDA if it is American....
Monika your XDA is from AT&T ? or TMobile ?
Is it ok to use it with European PW10A1 ?
gaz do you have exactly same ROM as I have ? (check my signature)
and this problem with band tab is only one ?
do you see TMobile logo when U do a soft reset?
Anybody use this soft ver. in Europe?
i use 4.01.00 with asian radio stack 4.21.01 with no problem
i used flash method when upgrading the rom
i unzip the exe file, took the .nbf file and write it to my sd card using OSImageTool and boot my xda with the SD card... 5 minutes later my XDA is running WM2003 with the latest ROM version
for asian users, do not open the band tab... if you do that, you have to go to bootloader and choose band 900/1800 to make your xda work again

Hi Toshiro,
I am a bit confused. The 4.00.21 nbf file from Yorch cannot be used by OSImageTool since I tried that before and confirmed by someone else in this forum. He said only nb1 file can be used for SD method.
Also, where did you get this 4.01.00 ROM?
Thanks v much.

Use XDArit.exe insted of the OSImageTool and you can write it to an SD card. www.yorch.net has 2 versions. if the newer one doesn't work, try the older one. I also found I have to unplug my cradle from my computer to get XDArit to work properly.

Changing ROMs problem...

I recently put a yorch.net ROM on my XDA, but then found a newer T-Mobile ROM from the forums, this one being from the Netherlands, now this is a 'safe' ROM for me to use, as I'm on t-mobile and same freq. band. But it won't upgrade, just fails :x is there any fix? I was looking at putting it onto the SD but its an .exe file and I'm stumped as to how I can flash it,...
Any ideas?
Cheers
how it fails ? ... what error msg you got ?
plz tell your device info as well
Using the RUU16006WWE_T-mobile_NL.exe file
It cannot make a change to my ROM that I've installed from yorch.net. What I want is a European (english) T-mobile ROM to change the yorch.net one. The upgrade just stops saying 'error' then suggest I reset device (which I did)
I'm using an XDA 1 (from O2) but on T-mobile network
does this make sense?

why do you need a 'safe' ROM ? ... what's your current ROM version and what type of issues you have ?
Btw, there is no such stable WM2003 yet ... even the latest of t-mobile 4.01.00 still have some bugs (minor tho)
In that case I'll stick with my current cooked rom!
thanks for the advice

How can I restore my system to the original states

Hello,
I know that I should'nt have do that, but I need your help.
I upgrade my MDA on the following state :
Rom : 4.01.16 Eng
RSU : 4.21.00
For buisness reson I have to go back to the original state.
Rom : 3.18.01 ENG
RSU : 3.23.00
Unfortunatly I didn't do a Backup
I have acces to some MDA with the originale rom and rsu
My question is how to go back to the originale state, without destroying the other mda with the originale rom? via bootloader?
Thanks in advance
The ROM part is easy, you can get the original 3.18 ENG from the carrier devices site http://www.carrierdevices.com.au/downloads.php?region=Asia Pacific
The RSU might be your nightmare especially that you have 4.21 which showed to be the pain for most people here ... anyway, in the same site you will find RSU 3.25 for Qtek ... it's almost the same as 3.23.
Good luck
Biso007 Thanks for you answer,
I look at your link but it seems to be the Qteck version, I really need the officiale t-mobile version.
Is there any way to save the originale one in one of the other phone that I have access and restore to my one?
Biso: Is the rom found in http://www.carrierdevices.com.au/downloads.php?region=Asia Pacific WM2003? What radio version it contain? Is it compatible with PW10B1 device?
I'm now running T-Mobile ROM 4.01.16 ENG, Radio 6.25.02. I'm plannning to change the Radio to be compatible with Asia-Pacific and in the US (I've been going to Asia and back to the States for business, so I want a device compatible with both Asia-Pacific and US). Thanks
ok I Download the old version on a new phone via OSimagetool to my sd card and put it on my device. working perfectly.
So now I just have to downgrade the radio stack to 3.23.00, where I can find it and how to downgrade?
I download the file here
http://www.t-mobile.at/business/mobiles_arbeiten/MDA/SWupdates/
Looks like it's working, (at least I have the right number at startup)
the only problems that I had it's that rhe rsupgrade was lauch every time I startup, I had to delete the file rsupgrade on startup folder. now it's working like before.
Thanks a lot.
By the way, does it exist a solution in mda to copy contact name to the sim card?

No, it's PPC2002 and the RSU is 3.25 for PW10A devices (900/1800). I know it coz it was on my device before I replace the mother board with a B-type one.
If you are going to use 900 MHs network in Asia you can keep your current RSU ... I have it on my device and my network is 900/1800 ... other than this you better use 2 phones or get a new XDA II

Dealing with the SIM book is a matter of s/w and the device type (XDA or MDA or ... ) has nothing to do with it. You can find many freeware s/w to deal with the SIM entries.

How to downgrade RSU or swith from 900/1900 to 900/1800

Hi all,
Thanks to this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?p=39630#39630 and especially remarks from hb88xx, I successfully managed to recover from my own mistakes (that many people have done as well apparently).
Here is the story:
* I bought my O2 xda from Telstra in Australia where the band is 900/1800. It is a PW10A1 device.
* I then cooked a rom with Yorch's kitchen and as many others, didn't read enough posts before doing so and opted for the infamous EXE method as I had successfully upgraded once before from O2 using this method.
* As my bootloader is 5.17 and my cooked rom was based upon T-Mobile, I was stuck: impossible to downgrade the bootloader because of TMO checks (the wallaby patch doen't work) and impossible to up/downgrade using the SD card method because of the bootloader version.
* Still, I could use my device but my WM2003 was very buggy.
* Out of hope, I decided to upgrade to another TMO rom, but this time an official one (4.01.16) as I read it was quite stable.
* That was the BIG mistake as I also did the RSU upgrade and I ended up with a 900/1900 device, having the 4.21 RSU.
* I tried many of the tips I read from this forum, but none of them worked and I had to buy a cheap cellphone to use my SIM card on it and keep my xda as a pda.
Basically, what you need to do is the following:
* Using the attached file or the official TMO upgrade, extract and copy the files into the \Windows directory of the xda.
* Detach it from the craddle and run the EXE on it.
* It says things in german (performing upgrade) and then a final status (whatever "erfolreich", ie successful). Click OK and finally, reboot the device.
* You now have a 3.23.11 RSU.
Once again, thanks a lot to all participants to this forum and especially hb88xx.
And thanks also for the remark below
Regards,
Bob.
Hey mate ...
It's great that you have learned this lesson, but now you may cause troubles to some unexperienced users by posting this file with this name
Simply, what you have posted is the typical RSU upgrade 4 files you should find in ANY RSU exe file, but because you posted this file with the name RSU_Fix, I 'm afraid some one will just use it with a B device thinking it will solve his problem and endup with a dead RSU.
So, plz remove this file or rename it RSU_3_23.zip or so

Hi BobMorane.
I am having the same problem as yours, upgraded to WM2003 and can't go back to ppc2002.
Sounds like You have reverted your xda rom to ppc2002, didn't you?
Don't quite understand those that listed in your post. Could you explain a little more?

XDA1 bootloader v5.17
Hi bob,
I'm a little confused - I understand RSU 4.21 is for 900/1800. It is the RSU that o2asia currently distributes.
My XDA is a PW10A1 and currently has RSU4.21 (from o2asia), Wallaby 5.17 (no idea where it came from... am guessing o2asia as well) and T-mobile WM2003 4.01.16 ENG (.EXE cooked from Lumpistefans)
As a result, I'm stuck as well. However, I can still use my phone on GSM900/1800; as long as I avoid settings-phone-band; all is well; but if I do wander into that, a reset to the bootloader-calander-gsm900/1800 solves the problem (albit temporary...)
Anyway, I'm meeting up with a friend to borrow a SD card+reader over this weekend or the next, so that I can change the ROM (get out of theT-mobile WM2003 rut). Am a little concerned about what you wrote however:

Could you please eleborate more on how the wallaby patch didn't work? How did downgrading the RSU to 3.23.11 help? Are you able to replace your T-mobile ROM or Wallaby 5.17 following that? Or are you still stuck, but at least the phone works on GSM900/1800?
More information please?
Hi,
Some anwers below.
RaymondB :
Actually, I didn't revert to PPC202 and I still enjoy the 2003 features, but I managed to get rid of a 900/1900 issue.
xdagirl :
My problem was slightly different as I did not have the RSU4.21 for asian devices. My aim with the post was more to explain how to get out of the original T-Mobile rom lock-in (I did not use a cooked one because of my 5.17 wallaby). I assume you can do it as well with the asian RSU4.21. If you have it, I can try it and let you know.
As for the 5.17 wallaby issue, I was stuck in the midst of 2 issues : the 5.17 doesn't let you access the SD card method and you need first to downgrade it to 5.15. The patch to do this can't be used if you have installed a T-Mobile rom as it blocks the connection. I couldn't get around this and that's the reason I upgraded to the offical TMO rom.

Thanks for your reply, Bob.
So you are still with WM2003. Is this the new official one or the buggy one that you've had earlier. If its the new one, how did you do the flashing?
Did you downgrade the bootloader to v5.15?
I really wish to go back to ppc2002, as the current one seems to be quite unstable. At times, it reset itself, especially when some changes was made to some particular today plugin. It also turn on itself, which eat away the precious battery power. Also, the phone setting function and the band switching utilities will hard reset the xda.
Sorry for so much bugging. Hope your could help.
Thanks and cheers.

thanks in advance.

you can go to your mobile provider too and get it from there website
and be sure that you got the original shipped ROM for your device... like if you have an O2 don't flash it with another artemis ROM or your original devoce language.. cuz in these cases you have to CID UNLOCK first.
I could not get from HTC website... I have HTC P3300 wm6. where can i get the original ROM (to avoid warranty related issues) ? i want to upgrade my mobile to customize ROMS.
Why can't you get it from the HTC page? Did you look in the right place? Did you get an error? If so what error (message)?

Here I see a problem: you can't get the ROM from the HTC website. Why not? Doesn't it accept your S/N or do you get another error?
In this thread you can see the file names of the original roms.
The WWE (world wide english) version has this name:
HTC_P3300_WWE_3.13.405.1_4.1.13.44_02.94.90_Ship_R .exe
If you search Google for it, you can maybe find a download link. There's even rapidshare mirrors in the thread I just mentioned.
