My keyboard is stuck in number mode
I tried to edit the reg. as explained in the Diamond section of this forum, but that didn't help...
Any of you with the same issue who got it solved?
Luckely my PCM Keyboard is still working, but I prefer the standard HTC

unistall pcm keyboard
pcmkeyboard is the problem there is a conflict between the htc keyboards and pcm is a known issue from diamond
it's that easy...
But they did work fine simultaneously for a few days

Hi there, mine has the same problem, the only difference is i never installed any other keyboard. mine only has the original ones. please help.

I had the same problem due to I installed HD Tweak and I enabled the T9 is the tweak
Just disable the T9 in the HD Tweak and it works as design....

i had this problem. ended up hard resetting didnt know hd tweaks was issue...

Thanks bouya_k - This affected me with my HD too, and is resolved after disabling T9 via Tweak HD and soft resetting. Much appreciated.
The whole T9 HD tweaks... I cant find it, therefore, cant uninstall it... I did look in the options for the keyboard and found T9... I unchecked everything, no dice.

I've already downloaded it and install to my shadow and try to reply to text but still xt9 as default, try to restart but still not working abc as default.
Well it works perfectly well with me. I'm on wm6.1 'clean' ROM btw.

Tnx bro, anyway as I read the thread there's still some fixes to do and I'm little scared to try coz anything happen to the phone I don't think I can bring it back. I hope someone wil find solutions to the xt9 default.

But, it seems to be only for qvga. Any suggestions of where I can get one that might work on the xperia?

ez Input works on my german xperia but i am not able to use now the special character like äöü.
Have anybody a link for a german version with the character and a german version for the T9 ?

On the keyboard is a button options, there you can chose the language.

well that works but it disables the button for the special characters on the hardware keyboard.
so now i can write äüö with the soft kb but i can't with the hardware kb ^^

well i installed the BlackStone keybord but after that i couldn't use the special caracter (èòàù) on hardware keyboard..... Any idea?
I've had my HD for over a month now and i would like to say that Im very impressed with it.
However it has developed a small problem, when inputting text using the compact qwerty keyboard it is no longer selecting letters, just numbers. All the other keyboards seam to be working fine. I've uninstalled all the programs / games that I've added but it doesn't want to come back to life. Has anyone got any suggestions?

I had the same problem when I installed HD Tweak, it started happening.
I disabled the T9 only in HD Tweak, Shut down the phone, start it again and it went back to normal. No tricky stuff. At least it worked for me.

Only had my HD a day and managed to cause a problem!
I have installed a few apps inc HDTWEAK which may have caused the problem, have tried what is listed here with no success. I have reset T9 and also tried changing Keyboard settings via Settings.
EDIT Just noticed (I also installed Gyrator) it is OK in Landscape mode.
The only keyboard I can get has 2 letters for each i.e. QU/ER/TY etc.

Got mine a month, and this problem started today, while I am operating as usual (noit installing any program these days anymore). Very strange! ROM 1.14.xxx

I've been struggling with this for a couple of weeks.....Deselect t9 in HD tweak then soft reset just worked....
As I was only a day in I did a hard reset.
I think the problem is with Gyrator. Resetting T9 in Tweaks did not resolve it.
I have reinstalled Tweak but not Gyrator (as yet)

Jesus christ, that made my brain hurt reading that
same prob i had, but on all keyboards, (except full qwerty) so un enabled t9 on hd tweak and soft reset, works fine
Alpha Keys do not work in Qwerty mode
I'm just responding to many others who are experiencing the same problem regarding the inability to bring up the alpha keys in QWERTY mode.
Yes, I have TweakHD installed, and I disabled T9 (as many others suggested), and everything worked perfectly.
I just want to say that I didn't even need to soft reset. The moment I changed the entry in TweakHD and exited the program, the problem was solved.

Hi Guys,
I have googled, searched, wikid, prayed, chanted and consulted a witch doctor, but my xperia is still ill.
The problem: I installed the HTC Keyboard application and since then my hardware keyboard is BADLY messed up. Instead of QWERTY I get QETUOA. I have changed the default language in the registry (409) but it had no effect.
Has anyone else experienced this problem? If so, how do I correct it?

No I installed the keyboard from the Touch HD.
There shouldn't be any problem installing the keyboard from HD, i have installed and nothing ever happened.
Back on my Diamond I used to have Golumn keys, is there such an fix for the HD at all or would even the ones for Diamond work?
I don't really want to try and see in case I have to re-inst my phone totally, only just got it the way I like it but I do need to have Russian input.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Uhum there is a tool called FingerKeybord, That has almost all Language in it, and u can install it on you're phone,... that you have russian input (for messaging and i-net and other stuff )...

I am using the latest ENERGY rom on my blackstone. Tried all sorts of keyboards including FKB - didn't like it.. I am now surviving with a ru-en swype...
