Diamond virtual keyboard on the x1? - XPERIA X1 General

Hey guys,
I tried installing a virtual keyboard like the one in the htc diamond from here ->http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=392197&highlight=Gullum+Keyboard
But, it seems to be only for qvga. Any suggestions of where I can get one that might work on the xperia?

theres the ez input on x1.modaco.com that works fine

Hello,
ez Input works on my german xperia but i am not able to use now the special character like äöü.
Have anybody a link for a german version with the character and a german version for the T9 ?
thanks in advance
Daniel

same goes for me

On the keyboard is a button options, there you can chose the language.

Take Touchpad it is in my eyes the best one

Remapping the miniS

Hi all!
I have changed the ROM from German version to English version on my miniS, and now I have the next problem. Many buttons on the slide out/in keyboard now won't work as they are described (not only the Z,Y issue but many others as well).
Anyone know of any program to resign/remap/change/ these buttons to work as they should?
Thanks a lot!
Ups, I posted in the wrong place! Some one plz move this topic to the Wizard box.[/i]
I think the author of AEButtonPlus has some apps that might help.
V
AEButtonPlus is not for the Wizard and it is not able to remap the keyboard
You should check AEkmap to remap the keyboard. AEButtonPlus is really for older devices, but AEkmap works perfect with Wizard.
http://ae.inc.ru/aekmap.php
The only thing you need is to make a new layout according to your needs.

Thanks a lot Borisa!
I'm having a look at the program. Seems not so easy for me since I'm real newbie with these devices (it's my first PPC/PDA device period^^)
PS:I've tried aekmap with the german layout from the other topic with same problems but did not get a good result...
Worked great for me on my Mini S with QWERTZ keyboard...
just go here... http://ae.inc.ru/aekmap.php to get AEKMap
install it and then load the german keyboard map found here... http://ae.inc.ru/aekmaplayout.php
Voila!

hey me too from hk im another person who can confirm after install ce-star 2.8 rc3 with crack can write in japanese with i have not try if it works with keyboard because my version just make the keyboard not working and hard to hard reset but if it is just handwritting is alright
If you need only Japanese, the best solution is Asukal's LetsJapanNo6 (Japanese font) + IME_31J_F (input panels), plus a few reg edits to get the keyboard working. It will give you fully functional Japanese + English input (hardware keyboard, softkeyboard, handwriting). Search around, or follow the link below to get started:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=441402
* Note: the two cabs are standard for whatever (W)VGA device you install it on, but you may need to experiment with the reg edits since the X1 may behave differently than the TouchPro.
If you also need Chinese and/or Korean input, you will need to look for a different solution, such as CEStar.
Mahalos for the reply guys/gals Yes, I need to be able to read and write/type in Japanese because of the field I'm working in now. This is the first time I'm "kinda hacking" my phone...Don't wanna brick it because I'm no rich man
Just out of curiosity; anyone using Japanese IME on their X1?
Okay...I got the Japanese IME installed and "kinda" working. What I mean by that is:
1. I can no longer use my Qwerty board
2. I can't "backspace" if I make any mistakes
3. My Optical pad is now disabled
Does anyone have a workaround to this?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1429764#post1429764
check this link, there you find the answer ... you have to change some regestry-settings. .. bcz the layout is messed ... just take TotalCommander to do so and after that everything will just work nice ...

The IME_31J_F cab makes registry changes that are intended for JPN phones (not WWE) because the cab is extracted from original Japanese ROMs. If you look at the link in my post above, you'll see the reg settings you need to change back.
Again, you should make a backup because I don't have an X1 to test it personally. You might not need all of the reg edits, or a different combination of the WWE reg settings and JPN reg settings. But those settings work perfectly for the Touch Pro, so they should be a good start for the X1.

Hi cmant
How is the japanese kanji handwriting recognition?
I just ordered a Xperia X1 and I really need to install japanese IME on it. Would really like to hear about those who tried that.

Thank for your answer.
I have 2 questions:
1-For kanji handwriting recognition do you have to write the strokes in the right order? That would be a real drawback for me since I don't know the stroke order of the that kanji I don't know!
2-And what do you mean by bundled? Is it included with the xperia X1? Where did you buy it?

àü-button doesn't seem to work..?

Hello! I have the english version of the X1, but until now, I have been able to use the àü-button, to make the danish special-letters; æ, ø, å...
But now, nothing happens when I try.. Have anyone an idea why..? It would be a great help, because I use the three letters a lot..

more like a case of installing a keyboard app that overrides the DLL registry that points to the DLL that provide such key functions.

i have the same issue.
dont know if it ever worked.
but i did install the blackstone VKeyboad.
could this be the problem?
Yes it could. I've tried to find a usable keypad to use for onehanded sms but each time I installed one, I lost my easy access to my special letters (æøå). I have a english version bought in Norway.

Uninstall Touch HD keyboard
Hi,
Had the exact same problem with my danish bought (english version) x1, but i uninstalled the touch HD keyboard, restarted X1, and it was back to normal. Its caused by an overwrite of the original keyboard dll. Explained in detail in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=447989&page=2
I hope someone is able to figure out a way for us to keep our au-key functionality in combination with the Touch HD keyboard, as it would be nice to have a one handed option.
regards
is it posible to copy the .dll
then install the hd keyboard.
then place the copy's .dll back
???

this won't work.
first of all, the DLL, is defined in the registry (I could have mispelled the registry path because this is off my memory)
ImeFile in \hklm\system\currentcontrolset\controlpanel\layouts\e0010409 (or a locale based on your ROM language)
So the default value of the registry is "Compime.dll"
when you install the HD keyboard CAB, it's the registry that gets overwritten ("T9ime.dll"), not the file. So keeping a copy of the DLL and recopy wouldn't help, since practically no files has been replaced except the registry.
You can retain the ascent key, etc though by reverting the registry to "CompIme.dll" after the HD cab installation. However, doing so is at the expense of HTC HD's own implementation of word completion and T9 function (so it renders T9 phone pad and compact qwerty SIP useless)
so if i would like to use the compact keypad of the HD without the T9 and word completion.
then i could change this and i would have this keypad and the au key funtioning?

well my raphael keyboard should not (i'm not sure as my x1 is at repair) but other stated this. and there is a keypad for portrait and sms with t9 support in it, and if im not wrong the hardware keyboard should have autocomplete in it. and as aplus the letters are bigger than the touch hd's
I have just installed the Touch Pro peypad-package, and it works very fine.. But again - I can not use the danish letters..
Is it not possible to get such a keypad-package and still be able to use special letters..? That would be really great..

dude, we talking about the ascent key, not the symbol key... I don't have problem with symbol key if I installed the Touchstone QWERTY keyboard SIP.
I don't think you can fix this problem (it's a side effect of trying to install another device's keyboard IME) but I would be more than happy to eat humble pie and be proven wrong

You need to install an SIP (Keyboard) that has both Arabic and English, I would suggest Finger Keyboard, just search for "Finger Keyboard 2.1 VGA"

Clear but I mean the external qwerty keyboard (slide out keyboard), found a solution for the Touch Pro 2 but seems not to have same keyboard layout...
external Arabic keyboard solution
My device is Samsung i780 running wm6.1.
I had the same problem, and the Mobidiv localization was totally useless to me because the it could never utilize the external keyboard.
The only Arabization solution that worked is Paragon LE
The trade off with Paragon's Arabization is that it only allows Tahoma font, no matter what you select in any program
Working fine on my Touch HD; tested with many many 6.1 & 6.5 ROMs without any problems.

[Q] note 3 keyboard

Hi,
I've bought an ASUS Transkeyboard to use with my note 3 because it's much easyer to write texts than with touchscreen keyboard...
The problem is that now my transkeyboard won't give me all the right characters...
I'm from Portugal and I have the need to write those: â ã ê ô õ, and many others that need the use of ^ ~
All those exist on the keyboard I've bought, but they won't work... also the " are'n working
I've tryed this same keyboard with other phones and tablets that use android and all is working 100%.
On the definitions on the phone keyboard I can only choose samsung keyboard, and I bet that's the problem.
Is there any way I can add some stock keyboard to my phone so that I can choose it on the definitions?
My phone is stock, not rooted or anything else... is as came from the store.
Thanks to all

I haven't used the product yet. Is the hardware relying on the software keyboard for the characters used?

Hi,
The only thing I can control is either to connect the bluetooth or not... I don't have any other options that I can change.
This is the second keyboard I try with note 3 and they all do the same... today I've seen this same keyboard to work 100% on 2 different devices (one phone that the seller used and my ASUS TF300 tablet).
That sayed I believe the problem can only be with the software from samsung and with his keyboard.
Before I have this samsung I had an HTC ONEX where I could change between keyboards with different leyouts... maybe the problem here is this...
Don't know if I've answered the question.
Ohh... one more thing... the keyboard on my phone is set to Portuguese language.
I've also tryed to use on definitions other languages and I see that some charaters change from place, but what I need don't work... So I guess the problem is with portuguese language keyboard made from samsung... the solution should be install a new keyboard.
I could only think of a trial run with a diff keyboard like swiftkey. If it's dependent on the Samsung keyboard app then try changing it. Then manipulate Swiftkey settings.

Just take a look at this: ã â ê """" ô õ
All was writen with my asus keyboard using External Keyboard Helper
After install many keyboards and Apps this was the only one that worked.
Too bad this is not free app and I'm using the DEMO app that from times to times add the word "DEMO" to the text... not about the cost, but I can't pay it because I don't have any credit card associated to google account.
Anyway... I'll try to solve it.
Thank you!
Any idea how to remap the CTRL key on External Keyboard Helper?
Almost all is working fine, but I can't use the shortcuts as ctrl key won't work.... If I use any other country without remaping than this key works...
