I can say they are very serious...at least in Portugal.
I buy alot of stuff there and never had problems.

don't know if it is of any use, but www.expansys.com seem to ship all over the world. the price of the HD is 525GBP (around 850USD according to www.xe.com). as for the taxes I know that in some countries pocket pcs can pass as "educational goods" (in the same way that personal computers do) therefore you might not need to pay any import tax (although you might be asked to pay VAT). maybe it's worth checking it, if you haven't already.

Hi I am ready to sell mine for 1100 dollars. I live in Israel, and it is unlocked to all sims. I just recieved it on 2/12/2008 from the uk. I can show you also taxes I paid on it. it was about 1388 shekels
Hey, i live in israel too, managed to get a friend to bring me one from the UK which i bought on expansys. With VAT having just got down its also more reasonable now if you know anyone is doing the trip. Only thing is getting the hebrew on it which is proving a pain.

A few weeks ago the HD was advertized by O2 as "exclusive in Germany only via O2 for the first 4 weeks".
Now they are the last in business. What a shame!
I ordered my HD ~ two weeks ago in an O2-Shop with a contract-extension (??).
Yesterday they said they are "expecting the devices each day". Like two weeks ago.
Anyway. I just want my HD!!!! NOW!!!!!!!
I just wanted to order mine via the online shop but I also only get the sold out message. Did anyone ask O2 when they will be available again in the online shop? Is it possible to order it in a "real" O2 shop with extension of contract although I have an online contract?

But as a student you get 250 free-sms likle online. But no choice for 20%.

Does anyone knows whether the prepaid O2 touch hd has got a sim lock? If not, I would advise you to buy it at O2 for 570€ and to put a blau.de sim in it.
It´s cheaper than O2: 9 cent per sms and call + 1Gbyte data flat (10€)

i called o2(GER) one hour ago again and they told me they will get new HD delivery between 21.Nov and 5.Dec!

I don't know yet.
I renewd ("verlängert") my contract at 6th Nov. (20 days ago!!!!!)
I told them I want an Touch HD, but they didn't know the price at that moment.
But the would reserve an device for me and contact me.
And if the price would be too much I could say I want another phone.
Actually I knew the price would be ~300 € with my conctract.
Besides there is no "too much" for this great phone, I think.
Have been severely mucked about by vodafone and no one else has the phone.
Voda told me my order last Friday would be here monday.
On monday they told me wednesday
on Tuesday morning they said Friday
on Tuesday afternoon they said "oh sorry mid december"

Exactly the same situation here. Placed order on Sunday, they failed to call me back on the Monday when 1000 units came into them, so I never got one of those, so i was advised to place my order online as more expected Friday and I did, now got an email saying early December. Called Voda who were very apologetic and if I can wait till the 12th then they will compensate me as I should have had my phone by now.

This phone has been a lot more popular than Vodafone thought it would be.
Apparently people stayed away from the HTC Magic when it came out because they hadn't heard of HTC.
Don't think we can blame them for everything. I hope you get one soon mate! Vodafone are usually pretty good with fixing problems. Especially when they create them!
Same problem with voda here, on top of that I enquired as what would happen with my number transfer (my pac expires 12 December) in case they can't deliver a phone by then, they told me they had no record of my pac/number to be transfered... ooops must have fallen into a black hole then lol.
Not bothered about waiting but very annoyed about not being informed about delays before ordering and the fact that they did the credit check straight away...
Sent a lovely email to the UK CEO (yes, I can be polite and explain things clearly when I want to lol). I've just got a reply from him (about 1 hour after I sent it) apologising for letting me down and saying he'll get someone from his office to call me to "see how we straighten this out"

Will do though I can't really see how they'd get me a phone if they can't get stock from HTC before December. Still, I'm hoping that at the very least my account will get a note along the lines of "do not mess up, the stupid cow will complain to the ceo" .

I Phoned tmobile yesterday and was told the hd2 is in stock but only on a 18 month contract. Vodafone tell me they have sold all there stock over the weekend and will not be getting more until the 27th of nov. Vodafone are not listing 12 month contracts but if you phone them and ask they will offer one. I Just cant wait until the 27th.

Me and many others with outstanding orders got this email from Vodafone:
"We have received unprecedented demand for the HTC HD2, and due to shortages from the manufacturer – we are experiencing slight delays in receiving your handset. We are doing everything we can to obtain further stock and will be the first to receive the next deliveries. Currently we expect these to arrive early in December."
That's a funny definition of slight delays Not sure where the 27th November date they've given you is coming from.

I couldn't get them to offer anything shorter than 18 months, so if 12 months is what you're after you may just want to order before they change their mind again
12 month contracts are very rare in premium mobiles these days. Given the lowest possible monthly amount is around £35 and premium phones are around £500 or so, the companies only get £420 out of you.
However, on an 18 month contract at minimum of £35 they get around £630 from you. At least this pays for phone.
As for stock, I would have hoped they could have had more in before the start of December. Must be because the phone has probably been more popular than HTC imagined it would be.
Hey, I'm so very close to buying a HD2. I have a total of NO idea where to buy from and what sites to trust. I've looked around some, and found the Leo going from 599-750. Another thing is a warranty. I've heard the phone has no warranty usually, but I don't know if I would need one. Any hardware faults or common bugs that would require a warranty to fix? Would love to get it a cheap as possible, but no idea if I need a warranty.

strange on went to upgrade on thursday and as vodafone stopped hd2 for non buisness users i was forced to go to phones4u, but as i arrived at the store at 10 am there was a notice on door that they would not be open for another hour due to staff shortages, so i though i would chance it at the vodafone store next door and see if i could persuade them 2 let me upgrade 2 the hd2 and it turns out they received 1 unit of the hd2 that morning and were willing to upgrade me. had a bit of a fight on my hans though as i was told i could't yet i had another month and a bit to go, i assured them i could upgrade from the 22 feb and was told they changed their policy a few days before from 90 days 2 50 days before contract ends, cut a long story short, told them it wasn't my problem and i had't been informed of these changes, anyway all history as i have my hd2.

I am probably one of the lucky ones who brought mine (was T-Mobile but unlocked) privately but with the warranty transferred for the nice price of £350 and it was new and boxed. I guess with the £130 I got back from recycling my 14 month old Touch HD with its 6 months half line rental cashback, it feels pretty cheap to me

I'm on ATT US and got my t9193 from Negrielectronics.com - arrived yesterday! 3G/HSDPA worked straight out of the box. I never thought HTC could make such a stellar device!

Well I wanted 3G for AT&T here in the states so I got the Testra version from Australia. I purchased it off of ebay from a reputable seller. If you dont care about 3G in the USA then you can get it off Newegg.com if you want! I paid a total of $798. A little more than I could have got the regular version for but if I am spending $700 for edge then I am going to pay the extra $100 for 3g capabilities. Totally worth it!

Just FYI: I purchased a Motomaker MXPE on a Thursday, and received it the next Monday all the way from China. Amazing! It took one day to make it from China to Hong Kong to Alaska, then one more day to make it to Memphis, TN, and it was delivered early Monday morning.
Pretty impressive all the way from China....
Thats not bad at all. My phone is in the done being built phase, but not shipped yet. Im betting it wont ship until Monday. My original ETA was Christmas Eve on checkout, but than changed to the 28th after I ordered.
EDIT: Just got my notification email that my phone has shipped, and should be here from China on Wednesday morning. So four days isnt too bad.
