Hi,
I have an HTC Touch ELF (0100)....want to upgrade to windows mobile 6.1. Is there an official update for this? If not, which ROM is closest to the original ELF ROM that i can use?
Secondly, can someone please name a few HTC TOUCH_ELF (0100) custom ROMs? I'm confused between so many ROMs and dont wanna brick my device

do i need a microSD to put on windows mobile 6.5?
im not good at technology and stuff. i dont really understand the 'how to'.

this is the wrong place to be asking, go to X1 rom dev, and since ur a newbie ask and collate on Kid_DC's newbie chef thread

actually ive just realised what you are asking after reading your post, previously only read thread title....
anyway what you are probably asking is not how to cook 6.5, not how to flash 6.5...
Cooking- building, customising and tweaking a rom from a rom kitchen
Flashing- getting the above rom installed on your phone
anyway if you want to flash a windows mobile rom you dont need a SDcard, all you need is your phone; usb cable; a computer; windows mobile device center installed; and an activesynce connection between the two....
if you want to flash a 6.5 rom 1st go to the x1 rom development section then read a sticky thread on how to flash a rom...
btw i suggest itje's win6.5

Just bought my first windows mobile, htc touch hd, and I want to flash WM 6.5 on it.... I have several questions:
Is it safe to do that? or should I be worried about some complications?
what kind of knowlege I should have to do that? or does it as simple as having a new windows operating system on my laptop?
where can I find a step by step clear, simple english, instructions how to do that?
Is it different from the upcoming official windows mobile 6.5? am I going to be able to download applicatons from the upcoming offical windows mobile marketplace?

hello Ayad! and welcome to the HD forum. flashing is safe as long as you know and follow all the steps to prepare your device for flashing and then flash a ROM of your choice . click the links in my signature to get more info on flashing your HD with a WM 6.5 rom (especially the Dummies guide). next read the first post in the WM 6.5 ROM threads (in the ROM Development forum) to understand what each ROM includes, and finally, scan the recent posts in the ROM threads to get a feel for user experiences. it will take some time on your part, but you will be better prepared to flash your device now and in the future. take your time, be patient and you'll be successful! fyi, you will continue to get advice like mine because your questions have already been asked and answered. good luck and have fun!

[Q]Newbie needs help on Gt-i8000

Hey guys, I got my GT-i8000 as a gift and I'm a totally new to Windows mobile. The model is I8000NXXJA5. I8000XMEJA2, I8000DXJA1 and it si WM 6.5 Pro.
So, my questions is
1. What is ROM? How to install ?( I've checking out this forum and there is alotsa positive comment about this forum. And I don't really get used to what people saying in this forum and really want to know about it. )
2.I want to install 6.5 to 6.5.3 but how ?
