Hi there,
I am conidering buying the Touch HD and would like to know few things:
video call - does it work smoothly? which provider offers that service?
Modem capability: can i plug the Touch HD to my laptop and get internet access through it?
SPB UI: is there a chance that this UI would also work with the Touch HD: http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/about/pressreleases/2008/oct23.html?en

So I have my lovely Tytn with it's front facing camera, and a microphone on the bottom... bit like a PC with a webcam and a mike. When I use my PC, I can have instant messenger chats with my friends using audio and video. Is there an app for WM5 which does this- typing is all very well and good, but when the hardware for sound and video is there, seems a shame not to use it.
Any ideas, anyone?
Oh yeah, and I have thought about the perenial (a) it takes too much bandwidth or (b) just get a video call enabled SIM. Bandwidth-wise, I used to conference call with video from my PC using a 56k modem, and as for (b), well I want to call people running MSN messenger on PCs, 'cos no one I know actually uses a 3G phone with video capabilities (apart from me!!).
Thanks all!
Cool Camera again...
Did you Try Cool Camera? Windows Live Messenger Mobile don't support the c front cam.
THE FIRST OFFICIAL APPLICATION THAT WILL SUPPORT THE FRONT CAMERA WILL BE SKYPE 2.5 FOR WINDOWS MOBILE AKU 3.5
Thanks! I'll give Cool Camera a go... hopefully it'll do what I want it to; I assume I won't be able to have a "full" video call (eg see the other person)?
Hello. I have just started a Beta 2 Tester Program for Streaming Live Mobile video from your Windows Mobile phone Live to our Website and other Comet enabled Windows Mobile Phones. If anyone is interested in trying our program simply go to www.cometnow.com and register. You can download the program and in a few minutes you will be up and running. Mobile to Mobile Live Video is amazing along with the usge of the data channel for one way texting from the website to the phone.
I have used our app on the HTC 6800 series and the Tilt. No luck on the 8525, sorry. If you try us on any other phones please tell me if we work or not.
Recently, we have improved the quality of the video, added a pause feature and improved the sync with audio...We are still live with only a 1-3 second delay!
We are trying to figure out who will make the best usage of this application and make the installation and usage as simple as possible. Your feedback is greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Jamie

Hi all,
got my HD yesterday and have been tinkering with it for some hours now (first Windows Mobile phone I own).
What I´m missing is a SSH client for making (minor) adjustments to servers while on the go - does anyone know a good (free) one that runs on the HD? If it supports the full resolution and landscape mode that would of course be a definitive plus. Google turned up a lot of results that seem to be tailored to very old Windows Mobile versions or cost 30$+
Thanks a lot!

Hi guys, I bought an HTC HD mini and I'm just discovering I cannot make video calls...
So I would ask 2 questions:
1.. is there a way to enable video calling on HTC or it does not support video call at all ??
2.. is there a way (some application or what else) enabling to video call a cellular over 3G/wifi ?
Thanks in advance....
Hm... how do you want to be seen in a video call when the cam is on the backside?
ok... that's right... but (of course) my goal is to see the other person...
My goal is to see my baby when I'm out for work
u can use a program which generates a web address,so you just go on that site from phone and see your baby
webcam xp does that if i'm not wrong.
Doubt it will ever be possible, but in theory a software app could be written for it.

Surfing on the web, I've just found this product: Comvu LiveCast (http://www.comvu.com/corporate/solutions-enterprise.html)
The idea is the same as for webcam xp but should work even on a phone (which makes the actual video) and does not require a pc/webcam to make the video.
Has anyone any info/feedback about it ?
Thanks
Hi all,
I've been looking for software to stream live video from my WM6 device. I'd like to use my old Samsung i600 as a IP camera, if possible.
Who knows of any software to stream video from the i600 which can be viewed in a browser?
I think I used Qik some years ago, but I'm not able to find the right WM version of the QIK software.
I found TinyCam two post below, but it doesn't work well on " no touch screen" i600
Thanks in advance.

I'm looking for this app too. Does anybody know something about turning i600 into a ip camera?

I used qik video to stream from windows mobile, but it's no longer supported or available. I think you may find an old cab online that works.

bit of a bump to old post, but i use livecast, you can watch it live on webpage (private or public) and records video/sound. You can also have it save to SD card too if you don't have internet connection. It works well as a dash cam too, limited to quality of my touch pro 2's camera... IE can't read plate numbers
