Best price/reseller? - Touch HD General

I guess it would be nice to make it sticky and post the confirmed prices and resellers here.
It seems that

they don't ship to US apparently.
Also there is another one that comes close:

Edit: As per HOTUKDeals thread it was a mistake
This has now been withdrawn, most likely a misprice to begin with or they have already sold all their stock! It will be interesting to see if those that ordered early actually receive their phones.
Ordered one. Let's hope it goes through. The money has left my account, so that's something.

The Verge phoned up and it wasn't a misprice.
good way to make a profit
buy a couple, and sell them on.
on HotUKdeals, people have confirmed that the deal is not valid for some reason...
The Verge may have jumped the gun on this one - retailers customer service departments are notoriously crap and often get it wrong, good luck getting it though. I still think this deal was too good to be true and looking at the hukd thread that does seem to now be the case
and here I thought Nokia and MS finally figured out the formula to become relevant in the market. Hell even I was going to pick one up to try it... but now forget it.
Can't charge premium prices for sub premium device/experience... not until you become a real player and can start dictating pricing (like Apple).
Too good a phone to sell for £120
Was always going to be a incorrect price.
But it was worth a shot I guess.

[Q] Price too good to be true?

Hey guys,
I have been a XDA lurker for a while. I am looking at getting the P6800. I seemed to have found a site that is offering to import it at a wholesale price. It all seems fishy to me but I figured I would see what all of you had to say...
Ummmmmm
I think that website is 100% authentic. I would jump on it before they are gone!
what is the site?
Exactly my point in my reply...
I have some nice land for sale in Florida .... great deal too...
Sent from my GT-P6810 using Tapatalk
So whats the name of the site? I got mine from one in Hong Kong at a really cheap price
I dunno, this seems a bit fishy. First post to XDA and asking for people to check out a website....Good thing they can't post links yet.

You could be right, it may be an employee looking to get people talking about there products or drum up some bushiness! But they did join in 2009.
But to be fair i very rarely post as I am not as well endowed as many on here (with the skills needed for dev work that is and I don't look forward to being flamed), i have bought my device from HK, quick delivery and having followed the guidance on another forum can confirm its genuine, Samsung accepted it on my product account, tested perfect and everything people ask. The one thing I did note was the description on the package for customs, again reading elsewhere, it may get held up but the owners of the website say there paying import duty, hope this helps.
Haha, sorry guy's being new I was only allowed to post every 5 minutes or something like that. Basically I got distracted...

at 230 bucks for a 3g model is probably too good to be true, this tablet probably costs more than 200 bucks to manufacture alone, so at 230 I doubt it. googling reveals this

Oh, yeah. That's gotta be bull****.
Its so tempting. I have thought about using my credit card so it would be easier to dispute the charges if fake.
It look just enough like amazon not to get sued
did you decide to order from here in the end?
There is a zero percent chance that that is legit. The price is way too low and I'm willing to bet they don't have a good way of contacting them.
It's not worth the risk. If you really want one then look for a more reputable site.
I am still waiting for my income tax return but I have decided that I will be going with a reputable source.
Thank you guy's for your input.
Agree its not worth the risk, thanks for the input.
Really like this device but cant help but hold out to see if the google tab becomes a reality
I may buy one from HK, I need the Calling features, and from HK they're about 600

Amazon Black Friday Deals Week - Link Here

Amazon is having a Black Friday Deal Week and are offering some really good prices for a whole bunch of devices. I did an article where I picked out some of the best deals from each of the biggest US carriers (Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint). Check it out here: http://www.androidsfinest.org/amazon-black-friday-deals-week-best-deals/
You should also do a link to the deals, you can't really advertise something for yourself.
I believe I did, the post title is linked and at the end of the first paragraph theres is a link to all the deals. For each individual device i chose, the picture as well as the names are a link.
I think I misinterpreted your comment, here are the links for deals
If you want a general link to ALL the Black Friday Deals, click here: http://www.amazon.com/Black-Friday/...av-sitewide-msg&pf_rd_t=4201&tag=andrsfine-20

LG G4 Canadian Thread

Don't think this has been started yet. Let's get the ball rolling! Who else is getting one on the 19th? Does anyone happen to have one now? Initial thoughts if you do! Personally, I'm excited for the two backs that are included in the box (supposedly). We rarely get stuff like that in Canada!
Grabbing one as soon as I can. I already have some Spigen plastic screen protectors, an Orly tempered glass protector, and a Ringke slim case to use with the plastic back. All purchased from Amazon.
I don't believe the US got two backs in the package though. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think we will get both on the box. So far, it looks like the black leather will be the only colour offered.
I read on Mobilesyrup both gray plastic and black leather backs would be included in the box. Pretty bold thing of them to say if they weren't positive. I'm hoping they're right!
Our lg rep has shown off his g4 a couple times in the last 2 weeks. Beauty device. First non HTC device I will own since the diamond. He's confirmed that both the black leather and grey metallic backs will be included. Great news right ?? I'd say.
I ordered the LG-H815 international model after owning and loving the G3 and this phone is a beaut. By far the nicest phone I have owned and I have pretty much owned em all. It is sexy looking with the black leather back and I have to say I am a fan of the subtle curved screen. Great battery life and better reception in Victoria than the G3 so I am thrilled, could be happier. I even bought two different Sena iphone 6 plus cases and had them sewn into a sweet little wallet sleeve for my g4.
Switching between carriers??
Hi,
It seems on LG's website that all Canadian carriers are getting model number H812. THat means the HW should be the same for all and only the software is controlling the radio bands the device can use. I'm on Wind but might need to switch to Bell in the future (if work makes me switch). I know people with Samsung's S6 can switch device software so they can get it to work on different carriers. Has anything like this been possible in the past with LG? Any guesses on whether it could be possible with LG G4?
This is my first LG phone so I have no idea what their track record is other than it is not great.
Will H812 in Canada have FM radio enabled?
I'm scared of purchasing one after hearing all the issues that are plaguing the phone.
I'm hoping that the majority of it is software issues that a patch will fix, but the battery life stuff is hit or miss for the most part. Coming from a M7, I really want a phone that can do it all, without issues. The M7 was great up until the camera crapped out and it felt gimped from that point. Otherwise it's been a awesome phone.
I'm just sketched out, I was planning on hitting up Rogers friday morning just to grab this bad boy.
I have been following all the threads also. You get issues with every device. Hell, check out the S6/S6e forums at AC if you want to get freaked out. The thing is, only the people WITH issues raise a stink, there are many more people out there that either don't have, or don't notice the issues.
We have 15 days anyways, and we know what the issues are, so we can check for them before the return time expires.
I already have one reserved with Rogers (via Best Buy), and I will get it the minute it's available. I will definitely run it through the paces to check for the common issues as soon as I can.
Worst case, I exchange/return it. Hopefully I don't have to return it, because I already have a tempered glass screen protector and brown leather back inbound. I don't want to eat those costs, lol.

I don't know about the FM radio yet, but the Canadian carriers have been pretty good about NOT neutering features like some other carriers *cough*Verizon*cough*.

Good post about putting things in perspective!
Can I ask where you managed to get your brown leather back from? I was thinking of posting on the forums to switch the black leather back with someone who has a brown one. Is that what you did?
Thanks
Not sure if anyone else here agrees with me, but doesn't a lot of these issues that have been appearing recently seem to be mostly coming from US variants?
My reasoning is that that phone was already released but we didn't hear a lot about issues until the US release. This might also be that more US people browse here and therefore come and vocalize about their issues. So I'm hoping it's mostly an issue with the US variants.

I actually ordered mine on eBay. They are from Korea, so they come embossed with "band LTE" carrier logo, but you can hardly see it. Outside that, only Verizon has the brown.

There are also issues with people in the USA who bought the H815 UK unlocked model, so I don't think it's only the US models. You are correct though, it does appear to be mostly the USA models.
Hopefully the fact that we get ours released later means hopefully we get a later software version with less bugs.

Not that I know of. Rogers, Bell, Telus, Wind and Videotron only, AFAIK.
If I was a betting man, and I am, I'd go ahead and make a bet on us Canadians receiving the extra battery/cradle/SD. Enjoy!

I'll take that bet. I don't think there are enough potential buyers in Canada for LG to bother with that. But, I hope I'm wrong!
Well all betting aside, they have the accessory packs at t-booth that are apparently included. That much I do know.

Yes really. Whether or not this is available at any/all carriers I do not know. I do know that the t-booth location in the city in which I live, has an accessory pack with all 3 items, in store. No contacting LG with proof of purchase etc... I wouldn't have expected this either.

US Model Q&A from the ZTE USA Webinar

So, they had the ZTE USA webinar talking about the release.
In no particular order (and I'm sure I missed some points since I'm going from memory):
they listened to the beta testers and community chatter and added the capacitive buttons back into the US base model
this change is what delayed the release slightly
gold model will be released first (July 27th) followed by the quartz grey (Aug 16th/17th -- BestBuy and webinar disagreed on date) -- no plans for the silver one in the US
pre-orders are available now at ZTE (their website and eBay), Amazon, Best Buy, Newegg, and B&H for $399
notification LED is present and RGB (he specifically remembered red and green being there)
they've heard the feedback on the bootloader unlocking and been in discussions with R&D about the best way to do it -- they said it's an "when" not an "if", but it won't be at launch because that would meant another delay
it will have Tap to Wake
they've been working on the imaging code constantly -- every update they've done has had changes for it
it is band compatible with Sprint and Verizon but will not work with them at launch -- if they can get it certified, it will probably only need an OTA to work with them
updates will be on a monthly schedule to line up with Google and to not over annoy users with frequent OTA updates (the only exception was for a critical security updates from Google)
they are planning the 6 GB/128 GB model to be released in the US at some point in the future, but they wouldn't commit to any time frame
they are working with Google on getting the phone DayDream certified
they are committed to an Android Nougat release as soon as possible but wouldn't comment on a date (he seemed to imply they were working with Google on this to get it out more quickly)
microSD slot was limited to 128 GB [although, I see no reason why it couldn't use higher than that, since most of the 32 GB limited ones work fine with larger capacity]
they will be posting the rest of the answers on the ZTE USA Community Forum over the next few days, including if the retail partners are included in the Passport 2.0 program [I'm not sure what distinction was being made here, since they had already said the full warranty would apply from any retailer]
Of course, this was from ZTE USA, so mention of the what the European model will get.
Only non-Axon related thing was asking about ZTE doing a Nexus with Google, and the gist of it was that even if they were planning something, he couldn't talk about it because Google likes to be secretive with the Nexus program.
Edit: Webinar posted now on Youtube -- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fyP4Wr8ApSo
Sounds like they are responding well to user input. Never really seen anything like it before.
I'm glad I pre-ordered today! With effort like this, I'm more than happy to show my support. (And it was nice hearing them say they'd love to make a Nexus.)
>it is band compatible with Sprint and Verizon but will not work with them at launch -- if they can get it certified, it will probably only need an OTA to work with them
I'm pressing ZTE to see if CDMA support (not specifically Verizon/Sprint support, since they aren't the only CDMA carriers) is at least turned on out of the box.

Having it disabled in the phone at launch will probably discourage people from trying something stupid before Verizon/Sprint "flip the switch" and is also probably to ensure that those companies look upon ZTE as favourably as possible and don't delay too long.
Who else provides CDMA over there? do those others have their own networks or do they rely on Verizon/Sprint towers, the latter would to my mind mean that they are still bound by the wishes of Verizon/Sprint.
Anyone have one of their elusive $50 discount codes for the Axon 7? I would like to preorder one, but the California tax is killing me.

Curious, but what stupidity are they trying to discourage? The OP3 has CDMA enabled for Verizon, people are able to make calls/data fine, Verizon doesn't seem to care (I doubt they'll ever officially support it), and people don't seem to be breaking their phones to connect to Verizon (just pop in the SIM and go). The later part does make sense though.
Other CDMA carriers include US Cellular (5th biggest, right below Sprint), and smaller regional providers. They all run their own CDMA networks. A pretty comprehensive list is available on Wikipedia, look for the ones with Voice Technology CDMA2000, Data Technology EV-DO (and LTE): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_United_States_wireless_communications_service_providers
EDIT: I gave a listen to the Webinar that was posted on Youtube. It looks like the hardware is in place, but CDMA is disabled in the software for all carriers until Verizon/Sprint give support. Bummer.

Yeah, it's actually fairly unusual -- they actually changed the model design based on early feedback. It seems like they are really trying to grow the brand in the US, and want a popular flagship to go with it. Since they've only really made mid- to low-end phones before, makes sense they would want to keep people happy to build the buzz.
I wish they'd had a better answer on the bootloader, but as long as they follow through, that's fine. I'd rather have them listen and deliver it late and have it never happen.

I think there was already quite a bit of negative feedback on the Chinese forums about the lack of capacitive buttons on the lesser model (if I was reading the badly translated stuff from Bing translator correctly) before things really got going outside China so it may be more of a general willingness to listen than trying to grow a specific market.
They've posted the webinar on Youtube now -- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fyP4Wr8ApSo

It is not about "if" but about "when".
"Never" is also about "when".

Well ****. Hopefully this is not the case for the European model. Otherwise all hope is pointed at the Nexus. But the Nexus won't have front firing speakers... However I rather have software buttons than front firing speakers.
While I'm not a huge fan of capacitive buttons for the most part, I'd prefer them to having on-screen buttons burned in due to the weaknesses of current OLED technology.
Gee it's great that they are listening to us and it's also great that the 128GB/6GB version will be released outside of China.

Most likely is, just like how 64GB+ cards can work in phones that state that they only support up to 32GB if you format it correctly.
