Headset Jack Noise!!! - SOLVED! - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 ROM Development

Hello Everyone,
This started with me a few days back when during calls i can hear the signal sound of my PDA2K. The noise is like we hear in external speaker when there is a mobile near it.
I went to my nearest mobile repairer and he tell me that the problem is in the speaker of my PDA2K. I purchased the speaker and replaced it but still i can hear the sound of signal in my speaker of my PDA2K. Then i try to plug in my headset and found no noise in it at all.
Then, i believe that there is some problem coming from the headset jack that's why it is giving me noise during call from my PDA Speaker.
I opened the area where there is headset jack and try to remove it from the board but unfortunatly i am only able to remove the last two legs of the headset jack (Please check attachements).
Now, the problem is too strange. I can hear ringtones of the coming call but no sound during playing video or during answering or recieving calls.
Anyone, please suggest something...
Thank you in advance for your help....

No sound from speaker while calling

Hi ppl! Let's see if I can express my problem!
My wizard is having this problem:
The inside speaker doesn't work during a call, only loud speaker(hands free) works, or by handset or bluetooh speaker! Does any one have this kind of problem?
I've send this one to warranty but, i've got a stupid respond from HTC:
"....Dear Sr. You have used an illegal software that damage you HTC motherboad...". Uaaauuu I've never used any 3rd software on this one. after received this answer Yesterday I made the first update to this phone (install the XDA Mobile 6 Release 3) but the problem still there.
Does any one have some ideas?
Now a stupid question ? how many speakers does wizard have ? 2 ?
Thanks for your time.
Rui
A while ago i had a similar problem where the phone thought my wired headset was plugged in and would not send the sound to the speakers... Only the headset, so i put some music on and plugged the headset in and out pretty fast until the sound came out the speakers in the phone. I think it had something to do with the switch inside the jack port that controls where the sound goes. Anyway that fixed mine but im not sure whats happening with yours.
The wizard has 3 speakers
2 Stereo speakers, one on each side
1 Speaker for calling in between the flashing lights

Thats very true, if headset is used often or used much of the time, then the clips inside the jack port get over stretched and won't come back to it's original place after the input jack of headsets is plugged out, thus, not allowing to pass through the voice to the speakers.
Hi again! thanks for your replay!
Yes it was true about the mini jack! A good cleaning have solve 50% of the case!
The sound now cames out from the 2 stereo speakers ! But not from the speaker for calling!
I'm start to suspects from the speaker! Is it hard to dismount the wizard ???
Regards ,
Rui

Speakers dead - both phone speaker and ringer...

Hi everyone...
I just pulled out my headphone plug and now I can't hear any sounds over the Prophet's speakers - No ringtones, no system sounds, nothing. Not even the other person when I call someone...
Still works over headphones though...
So what's wrong? Is my headphone jack screwed?
Thanks in advance...
That is a commun problem with this equipment.
The spring on the plub doesnt work right with the time.
One solution is to to plub and unplug several times and then test it if it the the problem has been solved.
Prepare to buy a new headphones plug.
Thanks for the reply... so you're basically saying, there's a mechanical problem with the headphone jack? That's strange, because when I call the phone from a different one the ringer works fine. But when I call someone else from the Prophet, I can't hear a thing...
I think that the problem lies with a little metal pin/pad inside the jack hole on the prophet.
When you put the jack in, it depresses this little pin, and deactivates the speaker, earspeaker and microphone, and transfers that over to the headset. After a bit of usage, it appears that it can get stuck when you remove the jack, disabling the phone's speakers etc.
I find that shaking it/hitting it/ramming the jack in and out, whilst building up frustration, can remove stress. It also can have some effect on the problem.
I'm just waiting it out until my contract ends, and i get a new phone.
EDIT: Ah, and the prophet naturally rings out loud aswell when you have the headset in, so that's why you can hear it.
I had the exact same problem, I sloved it by rotating a pin inside the headphone jack and it is sloved the speaker worked. I inserted the headphone and it work thus i took it off and prophet worked as normal.
wish good luck 4 u

Is there any software solution out there for a 'ghost' jack problem on X7500?

HELP!! The Speaker only makes sound on incoming calls, the rest of the time the sound is going to the headphones
I will suggest PIMBACKUP on storage card and Hard reset
can I Assume you have the headphones plugged in, if so, you will only hear the incomming call on the speaker, if you unplug the hadphones then all sound will come through speaker.

Thanks in advance.
any help
good morning
im not sure if it is really helpfull but on the htc universal there was a problem that sometimes when you unplug the headphones the connection in the headphonejack of the device still does not switch back, so the universal thinks the headphone is still connected and sends all audio output to the (not longer connected) headphone. some user have to disassemble their device (or send in for repair) other (like me) could fix the problem with pluging/unpluging the headphones one more time so the contact works as it should. this bug is one of the reasons why i changed to bluetooth headphones.
hope this helped a bit mad
This problem has been arround for years, not just on the Universal but on most (all?) HTC phones.
latest post I could find on the subject http://www.modaco.com/content/Smartphone-General-Discussion/264524/Locked-in-headphonesmode/

wierd problem with sound / speaker

hey, i have a stragne problem wit hmy hermes. all the sudden, the speaker on the rear wasnt working anymore when somebody was calling and i didnt hear anybody when on the phone. also, the person calling, didnt hear me.
so i blew in the plug for the headset and poked around in there with a little screw driver, as i read on the forum. then the little plastik thing in the plug fell out, i think it was loose before. now, i can still charge, i also can listen to music via headset. when people call me, the rear speaker is working again and people can hear me, however, i cant hear anybody! not on the rear speaker, not the normal phone speaker, not on the headset...
what can i do?

[Q] how to hear from speaker when i unplugged headphones

Hello Friends
I test the android rom MIUI and works perfect to my phone but i have one problem,
my mobile has an old problem with the earpiece and i must always wired headset to listen,
so, when i recieve a call, my mobile rings through the wired headset and i can not listen only if i unplugged them,
can someone please tell me if there is a solution;
if can ring trough the speaker?
The rings are by default the speaker playing it..
but what I understood that your speaker is damaged?
Of course if you speaker's phone damaged, then there must be another thing that you can hear the sound!!

sory for my english,
the back speaker is ok and works perfect!!!
I have problems with the earpiece of the mobile, i can listen from the back speaker, so I got connected wired headphones to listen always.
But when i recieve calls, the ringing tone is heard through wired headphones, not heard from the back speaker in mobile.
Is there a solution, to have the wired headphone plugged but to hear only the ringtone from the back speakers in mobile?
otherwise, I should have disconnected the headphones to listen the call, and when i recieve the call , plugged the headphones to be able to speak.
i search to settings but there is no function to do this.
This must a software do that, you may find an app to do that for you...
I think this is good example: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...ioconcert.headset.ringtone.manager.demo&hl=en
Good luck
