Purchasing Hero from Expansys

I purchased a Hero on T-Mobile 2 weeks ago and after no replies to numerous emails and been fobbed off on the phone I've still not received it. I've received a couple of auto emails saying that they've had problems getting hold of T-Mobile SIM's hence the delay with promises of dispatches. I've used Expansys in the past and they've usually been pretty good. Anyone else have problems with Expansys?

Are you not buying the phone unlocked...therefore you should have your own SIM...? What do they need of T-Mobile's SIM? Sounds like some bogus response too me.
I was going to buy from them but hear complaints of customer service so went with Clove instead. They were courtious, quick in replying with any questions I had and I think maybe cheaper than Expansys.
Maybe you can can cancel the order with them and order via Clove. Just a thought.

I just bought two more heros from expansys yesterday.
They shipped them today. I would certainly buy from them again. They're also cheaper than clove with 330 UK Pounds.

Bought my unlocked white Hero from Expansys. I had no problems, the customer service was great and delivery really fast (less than 2 days from UK to Estonia).

Though its the HTC Unlocked version I purchased it on a T-Mobile contract.

I complained for not getting any vouchers (as UK residents do) and never got an answer from them. Will remember that the next time I practice my early adopter skills.

Not in my case...I bought it as Portuguese so I'm not entitled to have any vouchers. Expansys is a case closed for me. Will buy things in England from now on.

have a lookat handtec.co.uk; bought my Hero sim-free from there, and buy all my Garmin GPS there, too. great prices, great service, no personal connection etc, etc

I ordered my brown Hero from Expansys on the 30th of July at around 14:00. I got it at around 10:30 the very next day. Talk about extreme delivery...
DHL was the deliverer.
I am gonna order more stuff from Expansys in the future...

I pre-ordered mine through Expansys and had no major problems with delivery to Australia. The only minor problem I had was that I had to wait for their hong kong warehouse to get stock from the UK before it was sent to me, so other who ordered theirs through Clove or Handtec got theirs a few days earlier. But now that they're available in many places it shouldn't be a problem...

I've used them 3 times in the past. First time no problem, second two times a total nightmare with - i'll go as far as - bare faced lies.
If they have it in stock, or its a general availability item its fine. If its a pre-order, there's a huge stock shortage or some sort of release date that's not fixed they are a total nightmare. They play alot of tricks with their stock saying its in stock when it isnt, and give you silly excuses why it was delayed and promises of 'it will be shipped tommorow'. They also hike their price when they know its low availability. The second two times I was close to paying their elevated price and getting the phone upto 1 week after other stores had it for less!
(Clove is very good btw)
I would never ever buy from them again, just out of principle.

Got mine from Expansys, great customer service, no issues at all.

100% correct. It's the "early adopters" nightmare.

bought mine from expansys, very good and fast service delivered within 2 days Uk to Middle East.

My only regret is why not give vouchers to all customers and why not answer their customer's complaints...why...

I wonder if there's any support issues with HTC buying the brown model in the UK; that's not an official UK model, right? Only the white is available sim-free, officially?

Car phone warehouse sells brown in thier high street shops. And the pink one (yuk!)

It's a good price, but does not take account of shipping, and tax could be expensive. Bear these things in mind if you are going to buy from them.

We were told last week that the shipment would take place on the W/C 21st
Some distributors still believe they will get the shipment this week, but I think this is simply that the sales guys have not been updated.
I have a call in to Samsung to try and establish the exact date and whether any shipment will reach Carphone before the channel - I would be surprised
Lets await their reply later this morning.
Shipment delays on launch are always frustrating, but also very common.
However the more I see of the i9000 the more impressed I am!

Thanks for unlocked-mobiles.com I haven't seen that website before. For international (canada) it's very cheap.
There is also clove.co.uk which has it for a good price.
I will be pre-ordering probably.. and most probably this week.
I will maybe use unlocked-mobiles to order, however I heard that Royal Mail is not the best service to use.
In my opinion the Galaxy i9000's ROM is nearly full featured. Root will definitely help but it seems already great, and it's one of the reasons I will be choosing this over other phones. Also the good large screen that is good against the sun's reflection.
Edit: Actually it seems complicated to order internationally with unlocked-mobiles. I'll stick to expansys.ca or clove.

Just to let you know that I have never used them before, so don't know how reliable/etc they are. As I say, I emailed them last night and they got back to me before noon today, so at least their customer service is pretty good.

For me it is easy to recommend Chris Love's Clove Technology.
I've known Chris for the best part of 20yrs and have never come across any other seller who is committed so highly to his customer base.
Clove are a reliable Family run business where they extend their family approach out to their customers.
They may not be the cheapest but you can guarantee if your phone develops a problem you can easily turn to Clove.

I heard also that Clove has great customer service and very reliable even for international shipping.

I've pre-ordered mine on www.mobiles.co.uk/vodafone-samsung-galaxy-s.html. Picked a £15 contract on Vodafone with £229 down payment. Unlocked of course. They are quoting stock for June 4th, as I ordered mine about 5 mins after they put up the pre-order I hope to be on the first batch

Awesome! I would love to get one as early as that! I have been waiting since it was announced, and I am so impatient...
I am put off Vodafone as their "unlimited" internet is 500mb/month, while t-mobile is 1gb (does anyone know if they will give 3gb if you tell them you are using an android device, even if they don't sell it to you? They have a 3gb allowance for android in their fair usage policy)
Do mobiles.co.uk sell unlocked phones? That would be neat, because I hate branding and the apps that the networks install. Hence why I am favouring unlocked (sim-free) phones now rather than waiting for the contracts to be announced.

Yep, all their mobiles are unbranded and unlocked. Am not too worried about the internet allowance, I tend to do the big stuff within WiFi range. But I think those caps will have to grow as more people start using android phones.

I'm so jealous right now even though i got a nexus one this phone is amazing i really hope T-mobile USA gets this.

I read somewhere that Samsung are releasing a T959-or similar which is a Galaxy S without the i9000 label. Usually the Samsung Txxx phones are T-mobile USA, apparently. So it's looking good for a T-mobile release over there.
Rumours are that all your 4 (?) major carriers are getting it. I hope something similar happens here: Nothing like good competition to bring prices down...

Strangely enough I contacted Chris Love of Clove only this morning to query the UK release, given what we heard yesterday at the Singapore Live Show where Singapore will be getting the phone first on the 5th June.
Chris came back to me and told me they had JUST received confirmation from Samsung tht a revised date is now as of and I quote from Chris ~ "We have now been given a shipment date of WK23 (W/C 7th June)".

You need a discount code from your Dell Account manager then you can ring the EPP hotline and order at the discounted price... normally its a 3% discount but the Streak is an extra 7% off until July 31st... As far as I'm aware the discount is available to employees of any company with a corporate account at Dell, including NHS, Local Govt., etc.

Looks like they pluck the delivery date out of the air i hate waiting

I ordered 29th of June and my EDD was 19th July but yesterday they called me to tell that they are out of stock. After that phone call I noticed that my order was cancelled. Of course I contacted their live chat to ask what is going on and they apologised and asked if I remember who called me but I did not remember the name. After that they called me back to confirm new order so my new order is 5th July and delivery date is still 19th July but when I asked when it will be delivered I was told that 2-3 working days so I asked again if it will be this week and it was confirmed that Yes it will be this week as my order already finished production period.
So probably the container from china is already somewhere in the docks.

I think i will give them a phone watch this space

going to call the HM forces discount number in a bit. gona try and get full 10% discount and get the ridiculous postage of £20 taken off. will report back.

Just phoned up Dell then had a live chat with one of them and they both tell me its a new product and there is still an interim period of 10 days after your order before it can be shipped so basically BULL SH-T EXPECT IT WHEN IT ARRIVES why am i so impatient lol

Same here, I ordered mine last week and have been annoyed by the ETA of 21/07 but I am pleased to see that it is shipped....
Time to pimp it out with some accessories- a Zagg shield and their case seem like the best options.

[Q] mobile phones direct - new email about pre-order

i have been emailed about my pre-order from mobile phones direct and now they are saying that delivery wont be in october, but they will start shipping on the 1st of november
i was hoping that i would be in the first shipments as i ordered on the 4th of sept
what do you guys think about this delay - i am seriously considering another phone, the blackberry i have now i doing my head in!

Needless to say I have cancelled my MPD order today, so much for utimate HTC partner!

actually if you are getting a run around like that then i would cancel and order with someone else just for the principle of give **** service then lose a sale

Just a heads up, I ordered from E2Save on the 21st October and they still haven't shipped the phone, DHL tracking says 'Parcel data received awaiting coll'. I emailed them this morning and i'm still waiting for a reply.
Won't be a happy bunny if you get yours before me

lol no problem, I am gutted because my wife was out when DHL came so I have to wait until tomorrow to get my grubby mits on my DHD!

It's probably worth noting that I spoke to MPD this morning and they have had a shipment in and will continue to get them this week so should be dispatching them on a first come first served basis.
I'm hoping the guy I spoke to is right when he says I should probably get mine tomorrow or Wednesday, but I'm guessing Wednesday now.

the woman i ordered with today said they got a shipment of 140 just when i was ordering so it said "in stock" and so she said that i should get it tomorrow
maybe we will both get it tomorrow

Mobile Phones Direct - S*** in Service
I've ordered mine with MPD on 20th September and there is no sign of it.
I got the same email stating that they will update me about the delivery on 1st November...
I never buy with them again...

i think e2save are sending out t-mobile orders first!
i cancelled my vodafone order with them, as i had pre-ordered beginning ov october, only to hear t-mobile orders had been delivered before mine. and that people had ordered them last week, and had them next day !!!
also, all the tariffs keep changing there, last week t-mobile unlimited web 600 was £25 a month, free handset, now its £29.99 handset cost. and the vodafone deal i had has disappeared! now more expensive!!
ive given up, and am waiting til next year and 1.2 ghz ++ devices now.
and hearing all the complaints, it sounds like this is yet another rushed beta device from HTC.

I've cancelled my order with MPD just 30 minutes before. (helping those poor souls who still believe in MPD and queing there).
Ordered mine with Mobiles.co.uk (free phone + £50.00 Quidco) for the same deal on 26th October 10:00 PM. got it delivered today at 11:00 AM...

I'm so glad I cancelled my MPD order! I've had my DHD since last Monday thanks to me not being willing to wait any more!

Got mine sim free from phones 4 u [email protected] £449.95, i cancelled the expansys £499order, mind you i had rang the phones 4 u northampton, corby, leicester, market harborough, coventry, and kettering branches,
if they try to tell you it is contract only, just tell them you know they sell it sim free, they tend to back down and say something like "i have just checked with my manager and oh yes i see it is available sim free.....sir"

Very.co.uk showing 25th March delivery still

I ordered the One from very.co.uk today and noticed it stated delivery was before the 25th March, seems odd that apart from P4U it seems everyone is quoting the 29th!

Hi all, yes it is expensive, but I get to pay over three months, plus I get 10% off as a new customer plus 7% cashback via topcashback so overall by my calculations it works out cheaper :fingers-crossed:

I'm not sure if you noticed this or not but there's a little text there stating
"Delivery by 03/04/2013"
was it just updated recently? (0.o)

I spoke to the guys at 3 today via their sales team and they stated that they have the Silver in stock and would be delivered tomorrow should I order today the black one however isn't expected until 03/04/2013

Mines also saying the 25th. Perhaps there are more delays

Just spoke to Very, they advised it is still expected by the 25th, although I will take that with a pinch of salt!

What! I ordered from 3 yesterday an they said mine will be with me on 28th this month

Mines showing delivery Monday 25th but its not dispatched.

I ordered mine through Very with the same date of the 25th. Seeing as it was cheaper to pay for over couple of months. However after calling them 4 times to find out when I was going to receive the device I was given the suppliers number to call which turned out to be Nokia Support. I have since cancelled the order with Very and taken out a contract with 3 instead. Device should be with me by the 28th. Hopefully.

Hahaha! This made my day! lol I wonder what could have happened if some less knowledgeable people got that response They could have called nokia and inquired about HTC Epic fail!

Funny enough mines still showing delivery as the 25th but delivery status is 'order received by supplier' - I tried calling twice and was told that there was no update so order should be with me on the 25th. We shall see but as tomorrow is the 24th and a Sunday, I won't hold my breath.
Popped into P4U in Northampton yesterday for a look, they had it advertised as sim free for £459, asked if they had any in stock and he told me yes but not for sim only and that would be a few weeks, which is a lie as other people on here said they went to same store and bough one. Plus I want to be able to return it if build quality is pants and can't if bought in store.

Interesting and annoying that different stores have different prices for sim free.
I will be in that area next Friday but by that time Asda may have shipped mine so would need to go through hassle of returning it and refund for £40 saving.

On that basis, I will be taking the day off work on Monday and if it does not arrive I will be certainly giving them a piece of my mind. I have no confidence that it will be here/there on the 25th or 27th for that matter.

People buying from Very Handtec and Asda are all in the same boat. We have no actual ides when we will get our phones.
Only places that seem to give a realistic date is Three as they delivered phones this week as advertised.
