I have set up a bunch of speed dial entries. From time to time, this list is empty apart from the top item (voicemail). Anyone else had this problem, or know how to stop it from happening?
Is there a quick way to set this up (e.g. backup/restore) as it's a bit annoying having to select each entry manually when they've all disappeared.
Thanks...

Hello all,
In the message settings for Active Sync the is options for downloading .5kb, 1kb, 5kb, all, or Headers Only.
Is anyone familiar with any registry tweaks to allow one to change those numbers up?
I would like to increase an option to 50kb. 5kb is sometimes a little small but at the same time I don't like "all" has that can sometimes take a lot of time.
Thanks
David
Does this happen to anybody else? Often when I attempt to open a message, be it an email message or an SMS message by going to the TF3D tab and tapping on the message itself (either in the envelope for email or just the words for SMS messages) the message depresses like a button press but then nothing happens.
I just now discovered that if I click on the upper right hand corner of the screen, where it shows HTC's task managers and tasks running, I'll see a mail icon and the name "Internet Explorer" in the list. If I tap on that I get the following, ridiculous dialog box that appears to be blocking me from seeing the message:
Internet Explorer
Pross OK to continue

I say ridiculous because if you think about it what options does the user have at this point? The only two things he can do is 1) succumb to the demand and click OK or 2) switch to some other application and ignore this message!
Questions:
1) Does this happen to anybody else? (Note if you have any icons in HTC's upper right corner menu that have a letter icon and say anything like Internet Explorer, Text Messages or Email then kill them first by tapping the "X" to the right of them and try again).
2) How can I get this dialog box to not prompt at all? It serves no purpose, does not come up normally (i.e. is hidden) are really ruins the "flow" or user experience here!
I've also had times where I tapped "Inbox" or "All messages" because at the time I didn't know that there was a hidden dialog. In such cases the Inbox/All messages comes up but in the place where the messages should be listed is instead the background of the current tab bleeding through! IOW if you have a list of say 2 messages that you'd normally see in the Inbox, instead you'd see the background of the current tab as if that part of the window just didn't render. Needless to say that this is extremely annoying too! This seems like basic stuff. Why is it happening to me? Is it also happening to you?
I've had my phone for a day.
1)
I installed Handcent sms and it's really sluggish and crashes.
Same for the regular messaging app.
2) when typing a partial name in the "To:" field, it takes about 5 seconds for the list of possible names to show up for me to click. This seems really slow to me. anyone else having this issue?
3.) My phone app freezes sometimes when scrolling through contacts and i have to "wait" or "force quit"
This happens multiple times a day. Anyone else have a fix or suggestions?
I guess no one has an answer yet so i'll just *bump* this so it doesn't get lost other threads...
Hi all,
I use to have a bunch of Outlook tasks with notifications to remind me of various things to do.
With my previous phone (HTC P3300), the notifications stayed there (until dismissed) whatever I did: reset the phone, move from an application to another, whatever. In the Today screen I always had the left soft key displaying "Reminder" indicating that I had some notifications active.
In my new HD2 this is not hte case any more. I am glad I am not wasting my left soft key just for the reminders, but the problem is that my notifications keep disappearing: if I reset the phone, they are gone. I got the habit of snoozing them before resetting, but this morning my 4 notifications were gone, even with no reset!
Is anyone else experiencing this? Is there a workaround? Anyone knows what is purging the notifications?
Ciao,
Giovanni
I want to know this as well.
Also is there a app or a way to change the snooze time? For example, to remind me again in 1 hour, but more important notifications, in 10 min...
Hey, i had (have) the same problem. First of all please report this to HTC cos this is a BIG error. What i did is unable htc notification manager, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=631449. That worked for me, also brings back the snooze option. Only problem now that the active reminders dont synx with my exchange or home outlook, but thats something i can live with. Good luck !!
i use the following three reg settings to tweak my notifications.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\Shell\Notification\OEM\Reminder
change EnableAutoDismiss from 1 to 0
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\Shell\Notification\OEM
CustomUIDLL is probably set to NotificationLayout.dll
change it to anything else, (example NotificationLayout2.dll) basically a name that doesnt exist.
UseDefaultUI set to 0
Also, go to settings - menu - all settings - sounds and notifications - notifcations tab - in the dropdown choose 'reminders' and make sure 'show on screen' is checked.
hope these help.
Hello,
When I want to compose a new SMS and need to type the contact in the "To:" field, the drop-down list that shows the contacts is all black (or just graphically messed-up sometimes).
If I press the button to open the contact list (instead of typing) it shows the contact list correctly. Only the drop-down list is messed up.
I think that this has something to do with something I installed (dunno what), because when I hard-reseted the device it was fine... Next day (and after installing my tipical applications), it's messed-up.
Any ideas?

Couldn't tell you what is causing it but would guess the same as you. It's likely something you may have installed. You could either remove everything you installed one a time while checking to see if it's normal again otherwise hard-reset and install things one at a time to see what is causing the issue.
