Hey, Can some one tell me how to watch Orange TV on my Elf?
Thanks
Orange TV needs a 3G SIM card. If you have one of those and it still doesn't work, it may be that they haven't made the Touch a recognised handset.
Touch doesn't support 3G

Hi, I have a HTC wizard that I no longer use, I was wondering if anybody knows is it possible to use a USIM in htc wizard, obviously it would only work 2g but I dont mind that, I dropped the 3G phone I got on contract after just one month...now im stuck with a Nokia 6630.. and would prefer to use my wizard
I have an Orange USIM from a 3G phone that I was trialing that works fine in mine.
Orange USIM's are backwards compatible with 2G phones but not the other way round where Orange 2G SIM's dont work in 3G phones. However this may not be true of other networks.
Looking for help in getting 3G services running on my TyTnII (Kaiser).
I have a Vodafone version of this device, but running on Orange Network (currently testing the device for work). I have manually setup GPRS settings for Orange network and can connect fine, phone has E for Edge when in correct area, but can not get 3G at all.
Can I assume that this is down to the phone being some how locked down to Vodafone and not letting me use the 3G network on Orange. I have another one of these devices with a Vodafone sim card, and get full 3G straight away, even the G icon appears as 3G.
Any help however relevant would really be appericated.
Thanks
Pete
i dont believe they can be locked to edge at all
maybe the orange subscription is just not umts enabled
Coming to the problem from a different direction which may help.
I have an Orange SPV M5000 which I use on an orange PAYG sim card. This has never shown 3G on the display. A couple of days ago I unlocked the phone & put in my T-Mobile PAYG simcard which I have been using on an Orange SPV M1000 (only a max of £1 a day up to 30g of downloads)and straight away it showed the 3G sign on the display, so it's possable that your simcard does not alow 3G or it needs to be enabled.
My Orange PAYG simcard needed to be GPRS enabled when I wanted to start downloading data. Hope this helps. Regards John
Thanks for your help so far.
Hi Guys,
Just wanted to say thanks for your replays so far, certainly looking like problem with Orange, rather that phone.
I have contacted Orange after finding an article on their website about using 3G and it stating that you need a 3G device and 3G sim card.
Will let you know how I get on.
Thanks again.
Pete
orange does not allow 3G connections without first being enabled there end. Ive had the same problem some time ago.
I called Orange & they said I needed a new 3G sim card cost £1 which i bought. It came yesterday & i installed it & now I have the 3G symbol on the display.
Do I need to change any settings or numbers etc or are the old setings OK for 3G

As far as I know the settings that work with GPRS on Orange should just work for 3g in your case.

Wizzard, you are correct, everything works fine, just faster.
I have a TYTN II on the Orange UK network (Pay Monthly). The phone is unlocked and works with a O2 (Pay as you GO) SIM on the network.
I recently bought the following Dual SIM Adaptor :-
http://www.m-99.co.uk/Mobile_Phone_Twin_SIM_Adapters/mobile_phone_twin_sim_adapters.html
I cut both my SIMS and tested them on a Nokia. The SIMS work fine in the Nokia, I can select SIM 1 or SIM 2.
On plugging the adaptor into my TYTN, the O2 network works fine.
On switching to the Orange UK network the phone shows signal, but after approx 15 seconds the network shows no signal.
When trying to access the SIM Manager during this 15 seconds it does state that the SIM is initialising.
The Adaptor works fine on a Nokia but not a TYTN II. Any Ideas ??
Perhaps it requires different hardware? On the site you have to choose the model ..
Bought one from another site and same problem.
I chose the TYTN adaptor.
I'll try a different ROM.

Maybe you have to turn the radio off before switching from one sim to another.
Have you set it to GSM network type ?
Go to: Settings>Phone>Band (you will need a working sim installed to enter phone options)
I had a bunch of dual sims that worked great on WM PDAs, sold um all.
Your problem sounds like the Orange SIM is not connecting well.
One trick that can work well is to place the Dual sim adaptor (SIMs loaded in adaptor) on a flat surface PCB side down & apply even preassure over the top with your thumb (Give it a good hard squash)
This normally cures it.
Another option is to swap the sim positions & see if Orange works in the O2 slot (this will prove sim terminal connection problem)
Thanks Mister B,
Went to Settings>Phone>Band and switched from Auto to GSM. All works fine.
Cheers
DUAL SIM Not working on Treo 750 WM 6.1 GSM phone
The Dual SIM Adapter boasts of not needing to switch off to switch between SIMS. But it shows only default SIM 1 and not the second SIM. My Treo 750 is a unlocked WM 6.1 GSM type. Can anyone help pls?
No 1: follow tip in post #5
No 2: remove sim adaptor from phone place it on a flat hard surface with the PCB board facing down & roll your thumb over the back of it with reasonable pressure & then retry it in your device.
Some of these adaptors need a lot of patience to get working due to poor contacts between sim cards & adaptor.
You can also swap position of your 2 SIMs which will help fault diagnose the issue.
Hi there,
so I'm in Japan for studies for a year and I'd like to get a SIM Card from Softbank (prepaid or White plan, not quite sure yet which one is cheaper). Now my question is: will Softbank's SIM cards work with my Touch HD or do i have to buy me a softbank phone?
Thanks in advance
softbank's sim works just fine with touch hd, no problem with that.
I myself use softbank on touch hd. the difficult part is getting just sim from softbank without a softbamk mobile.
Softbank sim cards work fine

Hi All,
Does anyone know of a dual sim adapter that work in the HTC Hero, which also allows HSDPA connections? A lot of the cheaper ones found on ebay don't appear to offer 3G access.
I have a Vodafone UK and O2 SIM card and would like to use them both in the same phone.
Does anyone have any experience of one that works with these and or HSDPA access?
-thanks,
Lewman
