I'm planning on getting the wizard very soon and i was wondering which emulation software you guys have been successful with. i understand that snes is abit sketchy, but has anyone tried the psx FPSEce program? I was looking at the videos and i was pretty impressed, but the only thing was that the program was being runned on hp's ipaq series with 400+mhz. how was this thing par up with the measley 200mhz? has anyone tried it?
i'm pretty hyped.. btw hermes isn't coming for a while so i don't htink i can hold out seeing that i need to switch out of carriers very soon.
Mario on a Phone...
I have been using Pocket Nester...it runs old NES Roms...I have loved it...Finally Mario 1, 2 & 3 on my phone where they were meant

I've been trying to get FPSEce to run FF7 on my wizard, but haven't had much luck yet. I think it's a problem with my rom (making my own from my playstation discs, so I probably botched it somewhere...) I'm going to keep trying though.. I'm worried about the speed issues too.. not sure how well it will work since it seems everyone else is using axims and ipaqs.. haven't read any reports of people doing it on their HTC devices...
FPSEce most likely won't run well at all on the Wizard. I run it on a Universal and it still has major slow downs at times, and only does a semi-decent job in general.

I've also been using PocketNester and also PocketGnuboy, both of which seem pretty fast and stable as well as free!
Also tried PocketUAE last night just for the hell of it, actually worked first time with a 1.3 rom and happily loaded up the first game I found (1st Div Manager). Too slow to be playable (especially in the match part) so no SWOS soon I'm afraid but did remind me of those happy bygone days! Really ought to dig out my A4000 again (or my CD32, A1200 or even my A500!)
I don't want to hijack the thread, but is anyone else having trouble with not getting sound from PocketNester or PocketNES? Neither one has sounds out of all the ROMs I try.
ive run ff7 on my wizard but performance isnt too great...the fmv's **** everything up so i have to re do the iso and maybe relink the fmv's

really, thats pretty impressive, i would think the measley 200 mhz processor isn't enough to even have a start screen. =\ do you guys think the hermes will be able to accomplish task?

did you enable sound in the settings?
Hi guys!
I'm totally new to this forum and I apologize if this issue has been discussed/explained earlier, but here goes:
I recently purchased a new HTC P3600/Trinity , as I have been using Qtek/HTC pocketpc's the last years and have been very satisfied with them. One of the main reasons I bought Trinity was because of the 400mhz Samsung CPU which I thought would be fairly faster than the 200mhz TI CPU on my previous S200. But, what I don't understand is that, when I try to for example play NES games with PocketNES or PocketNester on the Trinity, the emulation runs sooo slow, even with sound disabled. On my S100 and S200, NES emulation was flawless with sound enabled. I have also noticed some other slowdowns when running apps/games as well. Why is this? I do hope this is a bug that can be fixed somehow with a hack/tweak or a rom upgrade.
I am also wondering if there is, per date, any overclocking apps that work with the Samsung 400mhz CPU?
Any help/comments appreciated, thanks!
- Stian
CPU MHz isn't the sole determinant for the overall application performance. I bet you are not running number crunching application in your Trinity, don't you?
Playing games inevitably involves the graphics chip, in Trinity's case - the ATI Imageon chip, which unfortunately is not too well supported by these apps. You don't get decent playback of video until recently.
And speaking about overclock - I still don't see any proper app to really overclock that Samsung CPU....
Alright thanks for the input! I really thought that the previous HTC devices had sort of the same graphics chip. I sure hope there will be software enhanced for the ati chip in the future though. More comments appreciated as well!
Its mainly because of the stupid ATI Accelerator
Please take a look at a wiki. Its a known issue , whenever you play a game (that uses stylus input) , you'll notice that fps drops dramatically but then if you just use the buttons , it works fine..I am not sure why or what. But it seems that ATI Graphics chip is the culprit
Yeah, I've heard about the thing with the touchscreen slowing it down. But even if I'm not even close to using the touch screen, it's already slow..

so has there been any fix for this? i know that wm6 certainly doesn't make the situation better.
More comments on this issue is greatly appreciated.. As far as I have experience by now.. Every game and/or application I use that requires holding the stylus to the touchscreen suffers from major slowdowns. . I will definitely send an e-mail to HTC complaining about this issue and I hope that others will do the same. They should really fix this issue in the next ROM release ..

You can try XCPUScalar to overclock your device (paid software) http://www.immiersoft.com/, tried it on mine (HTC P3600). Works.
Good luck

I haven't used any NES emulators on Trinity - but does it involves the touch screen at all?
If you are talking about raw video performance, I guess those software like emulators will sooner or later support the ATI video chip, which would then provide better video speed.
But I doubt there's any fix from HTC regarding the stylus performance hit problem.
Besides the problem with the touchscreen...have you tried to upgrade to WM 6?
Mine is much faster since the upgrade.

Really?
Is it stable and all with the WM6 upgrade? I would prefer a Norwegian WM6 rom though, considering the norwegian special letters and all .. I'll might upgrade to WM6 then, can anyone else confirm this?

What version are you using. According to the developer Samsung support is on his "to do" list and not yet implemented.

I'm running PDAVIET's 02.07.07 with Radio 1.46.00.11 and it is absolute stable. Never had any problems with it and the gps works fine too (since the radio update). I have it installed for about 2 weeks...but it is in english.
I know this topic has always been beaten to death but I havn't found anything related to the HTC Touch Pro 2/Tilt 2. I've been looking for NES/SNES/Genesis emulators and I've tired a few, most of them are really laggy especially with sound.
Has anyone found any that work? And if so, did you mod it at all to play better on the Touch Pro 2?
Thanks!
bump. anyone?
A lot of people say morphgear works well. I have it and I think I have an older version because it gives me an error code. I would like to have the newest one. Smartgear is another option but it doesnt to SNES games like morphgear.
For Playstation I have FPSEce and have FF7. It works but is too laggy for me. I just play it on my PSP now.
Anyone have any other info?

Mind to try it with different gfx driver and give us feedback if there are any improvements?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=546522
...would try it myself, but right now i dont have time to STFW on psx game images
I installed that cab and it did not do anything for the emulators i've tried, smartgear and pocketnester. Still real laggy.
Hi, just got the Touch2 and love it so far. Just wondering, has anybody found any QVGA games for Windows Mobile Touch? Every game I try installing isn't for touch screen phones and I can't make it work
Any good games suggestions would be great
Cheers
Jennan
Basically, don't bother with games on the Mega apart from simple puzzles, Sudoku and the like. No usable hardware controls + resistive touchscreen = not a gaming platform.

Have anybody tried yet reckless racing on their HD2 android .. graphics are awesome and might need some overclocking, but I'm interested in knowing if anybody tried out yet.
Droid Life Review with videos and screenshots
whohoooo run great on my HD2 a very nice game!! thx for this tip
Best racing game for android in my opinion. It runs smooth on my hd2. I really like the "micro machines esque" overhead gameplay. Its nice to see something different. The accelerometer based 1st person racing games aren't really fun to play, more of a novelty.
Definitely gonna check this out looks like loads of fun
Not sure if it will take over my HomerunBattle3D addiction tho
plays great on mdeejay rEVOlution 2.2...nice sound effects and graphics
also playing "dungeon hunter"...nice game
Hi

Please Help me! Should I Change my ROM cause many friends could run the game with out any problem!
Can I Fix it?
Kind Regards
Senamas

download the plugin nvidia
install the chainfire 3d find the nvidia plugin (it will find) and fix the market from the menu, push pre-app/ reckless racing / load plugin / nvidia
