Keep Titan in landscape mode always?

I'd like to always have my Titan in landscape mode, and I'd like it to stay that way even when I open and close the keyboard. My old Apache did the same annoying thing - you can switch to landscape mode in the Settings > System > Screen, but as soon as you open and close the keyboard it switches right back to portrait.
Surely there is SOME way to make the phone stay in landscape, right?
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!
-Dave
theres a exe file out there called landscaper that allows the phone to always switch to landscape mode. When you wake the phone up or slide the keyboard the screen will change back to portrait but only briefly (you can set the amount of time in the options menu if you set it to 0 its pretty quick that it goes back to landscape). You will have to either put it in the start up folder or manually start the program each time after a soft reset. I personally just settled on mapping a hard key to rotate the screen and find this easier and quicker. Google Landscaper exe and Im sure you'll find it, if not PM me and I can send it to you. (dont think I can attach it here)
sorry didn't know this one posted!

me 2! man this is great
it goes back to portrait when you open and close the keyboard, plus it doesn't work after a soft reset--reverts back to portrait.
--James
There's apps that let you change the orientation of the screen. Just set one to a hardware button. Sometimes you have to work with what you're given.
thanks. i asked for this before and got some snooty replies, glad not everyone is like that
hey after using the app i dont like it no more i want to just keep it in landscape no changing to portrait then back to landscape that takes to much time please help if this is possible

You get snooty replies because you ask questions a simple search could answer and you do it in inappropriate forums with a statement in the title instead of a question. Simple as that.
Obviously not a perfect solution, but much better than before. Thank you!

Putting it in your start up folder will solve the issue with the soft resets. If you play with the settings within this app you can set it to automatically revert to landscape when you open/close the keyboard, takes about 2 secs to switch and switch back but no invertvention is neccesary on your part once this feature is enabled.

well, you guys must be talking about something else, because last time i checked. you dont have to download anything to achieve this..
all you have to do is go to start\settings\system tab\screen and there it is... you can change it to landscape mode for a righty or a lefty!!:

Isnt there a registery hack or something that could accomplish this.. The HTC Tilt already has this function and it is basically the same design.
I am a text addict and my fingers move faster then the phone... It would seem that there should be a way to override the hardware switch on the keyboard.
I am not familiar enough with the registery to finger this out... but if someone out there is familiar with the registery...

I did a few registry searches and changes looking for it and didn't find it. So I figured I'd search. That's why I referred you to this thread.
I will keep watching this thread.. I apprecate the assist...
If anyone comes up with a better solution... Please share it... THanks

Programs Run in Full Screen Mode always??

Hi there, I woke up this morning and ran Yahoo GO 3.0 Beta on my phone, and it did something it actually never did. It ran in Full screen mode, and for once I could see everything that it looked like. No part was cut out of the screen. The taskbar disappeared, and so did the one at the bottom, just plane full screen mode like when you watching a video. But after a while it went back to the normal way it use to be. But it was enjoyable while it lasted
So Please, my Question is; IS there a way to make programs run in full screen mode all the time? A Hack? Program to enable this? It would be highly appreciated if someone helps me shed some light on this.
Thanks in advance
what's yahoo go do?
Couldn't agree more...
I've been trying to find a solution to this problem too, for weeks now. I write a lot and all that screen space being wasted on the command bars in p-word is just silly. I found some toggles that kill the bottom bar on the today screen:
VJtoggletoday (sorry, can't find the download link right now)
and
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=357027
But nothing like that that would work for other programs. From what I gather, Wisbar Advance can kill the bottom bar permanently, but I've been trying to learn it for about a week now and hell if I can figure out how to load a theme much less anything "advanced". Not the most intuitive piece of software.
I'm surprised that this is such a rarely brought up issue, especially with qvga devices.

Gsensor or Gyrator?

I recently got my HD and need to figure out which auto-rotator is better. Also would like some instructions on how to install. THANK YOU!!!
Hi,
I use Flip it by Wild Berry team, its much simpler to use and configure than the two you mentioned.
http://rapidshare.com/files/172926970/Flip_IT_by_WildBerry_Team.cab
Simply copy the cab to your phone and run the cab. Cant for the life of me remember if it needs a soft reset but if its not working then do one.
Nogs
I did use gyrater but stopped and now use AEButton Plus. I don't now use an automatic rotate app.
AEB+ has a screen rotate function. I have assigned this function to a double press on the OK button.
This allows me to rotate quickly when I want and not automatically. This is my preference since I don't always want the screen rotated.
Find it here: http://ae.inc.ru
I also use it to map the volume up/down to actual up/down and double press for volume control and long press up gives a flash lamp (plamp) and long press down gives auto record on Resco recorder.
AEB+ is shareware but has virtually all the functions available in the unregistered state.
Worked through of few rotational apps but now staying with ChangeScreen. Very easy to use and exclude programmmes (just type in the name). Am finding my list of exclusions keeps growing and wondered whether it is mainly a gimmick.
I think this is because, unless the app is full screen, in widescreen you end up with a long header and footer plate and a lot less screen doing the real business.
Anyway try ChangeScreen .

Hello nogs,
I did 2 times an reboot, but still it don't works.
Do you have any idea.
btw i have a HTC HD
Personally I'd recommend either Changescreen or FlipIt. Both easy to set up and both work a charm!!
anybody got a clue how to totally remove flip it? ive tried with touch flo on and off and just normally remove and removing through activ sync but it still remains in the list of programs and also when i go to start/settings/menus its in there and the box is checked and when i try to uncheck the box it says "cannot move that item",only other way i can think to get rid of it totally is to reflash the rom ag ain which seems a bit extreme to remove an app.

Some roms have apps embedded into them so you cannot remove them unfortunately

Screen rotates the wrong direction

Hey sorry if this is repost, havent seem to find an answer. I recently installed SPC Pocket plus 4, just to try it out. But now my screen rotates the opposite (wrong direction). When you open keyboard it rotates normal but when you use the designated button, or go into screen orientation settings its rotates the wrong way. How do I get to go back to normal??? Ive uninstalled, soft reset...Im trying to avoid a hard reset.
I also thought I'd install pocket plus 4 - it jacked my phone pretty bad. One of the things that went wrong was the screen rotation like you're talking about. I ended up flashing to the r2a at that point, and decided never to install it again.
Wish I had a fix/suggestion for you, sorry.
Was a while ago i used it. But i think you can change rotation from 90 degrees to 270 in the settings.
i have pocket plus installed in my phone too...
just use the advance config to change screen rotation to 270. Everything is fine again
Awesome, thanks guys, I will try that out.

Gyrator and rotation during call

I was wondering if any one knows if Gyrator can be set to "not" rotate during a call? As it is now when I am talking ,and maybe need to click over to call waiting my screen goes to landscape...and then lags to go vertical so I can hit the right key.
The same when I want to hang up, when I pull away from my ear the screen is in landscape.
I would appreciate any help please........Thank you!:
Again, I am trying to stop rotation during a call. Also I am using a Sprint Touch Pro
Don't think it's possible with Gyrator? Use ChangeScreen + InCall Screen Tweak
Kraize, I appreciate that info, but could you walk me through that process you described? Is that an entry I would add as an event in Gyrator? Thanks again.....Marc
Eagleland,
This was driving me crazy as well but I figured out how to disable rotate in a call.
Create a new event in gyrator and set the application to phone. Then set orientation to portrait, and action to rotate screen. Finally, make sure that it is promoted above Rotate in the priority list.
I did this earlier today and so far it has been working for me.
*Also* - Make sure that Orientation is checked under that menu where edit event is located.
Correct me if I'm wrong but this can be done for any program you don't want to rotate.
Nox....thank tou so much for the info. I have not been able to test it yet, but I will let you know.
I am having no fun trying to figure Gyrator out! It would be nice if they had a manual or a better tutorial, don't you think?
Thanks again! Have a nice holiday!
yeah, i hit that problem too, but in gyrator options, there are some entries to disable it for some apps, like opera or touchflo. based on those, i did one for iconsoft phonex, because that's what i'm using. and it's working perfect, though i wouldn't have it any other way.
also, it's the exact same thing nox is talking about.
Hi Gordon and NOX! Wheel I want to say thanks again for the info. But I seem to still have the problem of the screen rotating while I am in the middle of a call? Nox, I followed your direction and maybe I did something not quite right.
First of all ,when I press the talk button and the phone keypad comes up, it will rotate. Then I placed a call, and as I pulled the phone away from my ear, it was again in landscape. Orientation is supposed to be checked all of the time correct? Is there something I may have missed?
Thanks again, Eagleland
Here's how I did it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3406887&postcount=1170
Hi tnyynt....thanks for your help also. Weel, i tried it the way you described and that didnt' work also. Is maybe because I have to do a soft reset? Also should orientation be cheched in the event menu? I appreciate your insight.
Have a good evening...Eagleland
use the app "changescreen"...IMO it is much easier to use than gyrator..
go to the "exceptions" tab and add "cprog", select portrait and your done.
I also use smartlock to lock the phone during a call, along with the InCallScreenTweek and now there is no more opening applications during a call..
the screen rotation and opening of applications during a call drove me insane for awhile...
I am still having problems getting my phone to stop rotating during a call, and frustration is setting in. I am wondering if it is because I am using a Sprint HTC Pro. Does anyone know if the Changescreen App would work better than
Gyrator on a Pro. I installed the touch screen tweak and it wot
ks well but does not stop the screen rotation.
I am missing something , and can't seem to pin it down.
I would appreciate any insight once again.....I am offering to pay someone that can give me the answer....seriously!!
Thanks again, Eagleland

hi thanks all is working and it help me a lot - info 4 others read carefully and it is gonna work
thanks
Eagle,
I did what nox said and was still having issues like you. Then I went back into the event I created in gyrator to look through the settings and noticed my problem. When choosing the application ("phone") the first time, I only single clicked it and moved on. When I came back to edit, I noticed no app was selected, so this time I DOUBLE-CLICKED "phone" as the application and now it works perfect!!
Hope this helps. It's exactly what I (and presumably you) was looking for.
