How to upgrade from wm 6.0 to wm 6.1

Hi out there !
Can someone explain to me in a a few words how to upgrade my HTC TOUCH CRUISE tfrom wm 6.0 to wm 6.1
Send me the best link to obtain the upgrade to wm 6.1 please ?
Afraid to send my apparatus to the digital graveyard !

It is not possible to do an upgrade (yet), there is no update available.
The only thing you can do is to use another (cooked) ROM, read the sticky threads and the wiki on how to do that.

Sorry I meant: I wanted to upgrade from wm 6.0 to wm 6.1, how to do that ?

Again,
A pure upgrade is not possible because there is no HTC upgrade available of Windows Mobile 6.1 for our Touch Cruise.
You can only flash your ROM and use a cooked ROM that has a custom Windows Mobile 6.1. To do this, click on the link that fktsndr provided here above and read other sticky posts.

614c question about firmware version

Hi,
In my 614c my ROM revision reported by HP asset viewer is MP-1.00.01.
I have already upgraded my OS to WM 6.1 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=379384,
ROM downloaded from 4PDA: http://66.102.9.104/translate_c?hl=...&st=90&usg=ALkJrhjna6KUn3dU3EtDoWAzbxW_k8VJrQ)
and I have still version MP-1.00.01 reported by HP asset viewer.
My questions are:
1. What does it exactly mean ROM revision?
2. Why the ROM upgrade to 6.1 didn't changed it?
3. I think that the ROM revision may means firmware version - if it is true is there a chance to upgrade it?
As I can see people reports that they have MP-1.00.03 or even MP-1.00.05

I'm intersted too if somebody can explain?
Now I have os - 1.01.04 and fw 0.88 and if I Upgrade to wm6.1 will it downgrade in os or?
Asking because i installed before 6.1 and it said os version 1.00.1 but now i have updated it from HP site and rolled back and now maybe I will try again new version of wm6.1

After you will flash into WM 6.1 v1.4 you will see 1.00.03
For me it looks that this version represents just OS version. HP is providing right version (newest one is 1.01.04) but the WM6.1 ROM cooker just used 1.00.03 version. I don't know if it is mistake or rather the trick/hack which should allow to make any official upgrades from HP (there shouldn't be version conflict during such upgrade).

the versions of fw and os displayed during boot are test fields from the bootloader ... no use to change them ... and thez dont reflect what actually on the device!!!!!!

I can see here that you know what you are writing about. I am also trying to understand this but I am not able . I would be grateful if you could be more precision and if you can describe it in more words...
You wrote OS and FW versions are only bootloader test fields. I thought that to be able to change something in bootloader we have to flash them. During flashing new WM6.1 we are flashing only OS not bootloader but those number are changing...
Also HPassetviewer is reporting the same version as during machine boot...

i posted a file that is the official 6.1 upgrade for ELF/ELFin

There is absolutely no windows mobile 6.1 version for gsm (elf or Elfin), if some body tells you there is, he must be wrong. The link i gave you of xda forum, contains various official versions of elf and elfin rom along with various dumped roms.

i just wanna a official rom,a very clean rom form cook.i affraid while i do it cook rom and bricked my device,how i save my device??that's is i need a official rom.sorry about my bad english.

You can try Tabish ROM v3.3.6.1 it is closest too an original rock solid and fast.

Hey,
i have a HTC ELF with the following "device information":
rom version: 2.20.710.1B wwe
rom dat:e 10/02/2007
radio version: 03.07.90
Model No.: ELF0100
Is it safe to upgrade to this ROM?
i had to use another serial number to download this ROM! with the S/N of my ELF i get the message saying that the update is not suitable for my device...

i have recovered my sms.... as for program i can reload.. so no issue for me...

Is this suitable for the Elf version as well? Although it accepted my S/N, it says ROM 256 RAM 128, that's the Elfin, is it not?

Do you have an Elf or Elfin ??? (The RUU file has Elfin on the name, so I'm afraid to brick my Elf if I use a rom intended for Elfin only

personally I just grabbed it should I need one for warranty ... I will continue to stick to xda-dev-custom ROMs

i just tried to install this rom on my unlocked td2 - it does not work. installer complains that this rom is not suitable for the phone.

how do i get latest official omnia2 rom?

could somebody pls help me.
i am a new omnia2 user.
my omnia is from netherlands and i upgraded to wm 6.5 via pc studio software. and got the jc rom version.
3 days later the pc studio notified that i have another upgrade and this time i got the IL5 version.
pls tell me what is the latest official rom available? is it JD3?
why cant i upgrade the latest at this netherlands samsung site?
how can i officially upgrade?

In my country latest rom via PC Studio is IL5 too.
But there are newer roms. Latest Samsung made roms that I know for are JE3 (WM6.5.3) and JF5 (WM 6.5).
Those roms are made by Samsung, but you can't get them via PC Studio. Don't know why.
