Hi,
title is my question...
thanks for your help.
ok, found it:
start->settings->system->remove programs
Really?..
Press start icon
In the drop down select Settings
Go to System tab
Select the Remove programs Icon
Highlight the one you want to remove
click remove
its funny when people ask a question, before looking for the answer.
Read The F...G manual.

I have searched on these topics and havent found anything definitive:
1. Is there a way to add some icons to the lower part of the today screen? (near the pocket msn app icons on the today screen). Other than installing Claunch and recreating the whole Today screen.
2. Making the 'ok' button easier to use with your hands...any way?
3. How do I remove icons from the Programs section? (all the pre installed crap)
Try searching there are previous posts on these things. Don't forget advanced search options.

Like I said, I did search (i wasnt lying in my first post):
1. search results are about completely re doing the Today screen, ie: cLaunch as I mentioned.
2. Ok button solution is not something you can easily search for an answer on without some outside advice.
3. Again another vague search that reports tons of results and nothing specific to what I am asking about....
So I ask again, does anyone have any insight to these topics?
I do appreciate what you say, it can be difficult to pin a search down. If I get chance I try to look around later if someone has not answered first!

I use SBSH iLauncher to add shortcuts to the tray at the bottom of the today screen. I use AE Button Plus to make the OK buttons actually close apps, as well as to make buttons multifunctional ie I have the left soft key set to launch the taskmanager for iLauncher upon double clicking in addition to its native function. I don't know if this is what you are looking for but thought it might help. Removing icons from the program section has to be done through the registry. If you are referring to removing icons from the default start menu that can be done with the menu option in settings.
Thanks guys...which reg keys house the program listing in the Programs folder? Thanks for the help Mike, I searched a ton...so many vague results on the topics as broad as these...
Thanks again...
Removing programs from start menu/programs is a bit easier than reghacks if I understand you correctly. With file Manager, go to windows/start menu/programs. This folder contains a list of shortcuts that corresponds to what you see when you choose programs from the start menu. Now just delete the shortcuts you don't want.
Hello everybody!
This is the first thread I open myself, and i'm kind of excited!
Okay, as you can see on the attached image,
on my today-screen, there is some kind of bar that indicates some kind of statuses.
How can I remove this?
It's my TyTN with the original HTC WM6 (due to the lack of a german 6.1..).
Any ideas?
// Sorry for the *.gif's quality, but I'm not used to match the filesize!
I believe you must remove the icons one by one and then the bar will disappear when they are all gone.
From the left:
1) Looks like MyMobiler. Tap that icon and there should be a way to turn off that icon
2) The Activesync connected icon. Go into Settings>Connections>USB to PC and check use advanced functionality and it should go away.
3 and 4) Battery and CommManager icons. Use Schap's advanced config to get rid of those.
this is called "Tray" search for remove Tray or something.
here is an app that will hide those Icons, a simple search of xda took me here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=248968
If this one won't work for you, there are more to choose from, just search "Hide Tray" or "Remove Tray"
Okay,
thanks!
Battery and CommManager have gone away!
But as I'm using WinXP, the advanced netwok features do not work for me!
Try searching now..
I'm sorry, but i thought the upper bar was called the tray; so i didn't try searching for tray.!

which of the two do you want to delete? the internet mobile of the HTC one?
Anyway, it does not matter which one you want to delete. IMHO there are two ways to delete one of them:
1. On the internet tab, yo have on the bottom two possibilities, e.g. menu and favorites. Press menu and you will get the items add or remove favorite quicklink. Press the x of the one you want to delete and its finished. If that does not work, the you can try:
2. Instead of pressing the menu on the bottom, press favorites. Also, there you have on the right bottom the menu possibility. Press menu and choose delete. When you pressed delete, you will see empty squares right to each favorite. Tick the one you want to delete and press ready (left bottom knob). Job done.
With a registry editor, have a look at
HKLM/software/htc/manila/Home/ and you will see a set of numbers, 0-9 (or more)
These are the links on the home page.
Have a look in the 0 one, and scroll down to 'IsReadOnly'. I think that will be set to 1, , change that to 0 and it should unlock the shortcut, then you can delete it.

I am sure that the solution posted by samsamuel and kuzibri is not working.
The way to delete is very simple for me, tap and hold the shortcut you want to delete until a notice "Drag and release the shortcut to remove" appeared. Then, pull it out of thumbnail area, done!
However, I am not sure it work always because I used Co0ckie Home Tab V 1.7.1 and CHTEditor 1.7.1
Hello there.
This is one of my first posts here so again huge thanks for this site and well done to Dutty!
Have 2 questions about awesome HD2:
1. Is it possible to remove the Start button from Manila? There's no point to have it there if there are quick links.
2. If 1. is possible, is it also possible to assign Windows hardware button to something else or disable it?
Thank you for your help!
Are you sure you won't have more than 9/16/20/25 apps installed?
I have the 25 quicklinks mod, but still very far from being able to put everything there.I've made a subfolder in the start menu, the duplicates of the quicklinks are "hidden" in there, but I still have a good 15 more icons I need the start menu for.
For 2), search for AEBPlus.
You are right. Thanks for the tips!

If you use BsB Tweaks and enable the option "Windows Settings - Show normal settings in start menu" then the settings icon in the start menu goes back to being the classic settings icon (takes you to "all settings").
Instal BSB Tweaks which has a toggle to turn on the 'real' windows settings in start menu.
I know there's another solution to do this, but i don't know where the folder is located to link it on start menu.
I won't install anything additionally for windows settings
Its not a folder to link, it's a control panel item, and therefore isn't easy to link to like programs are.
DO a google on 'links to control panel items windows mobile'
Are you actually saying that you want the settings icon in the start menu to take you to the same thing you get when you click "all settings" on the settings tab?
If so, a 30 second search of this forum turned up this post...

If that's not what you want then can you please explain better?
