Collection of Radios inside (ALL Radio ROMS) - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

Since i was doing research for missed calls for TNT rom here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=435552
I've collected all known 2.xx radios for wizard. Didnt see a thread dedicated to radios only(and xda ftp only has few scattered throughout all folders) so thought i'd put them all in one place to help out people that might be looking for best one for their own network/rom/device. Inside the rar file:
Radio versions:
2.17.11
2.19.11
2.21.11
2.24.11
2.25.11
2.37.11
2.40.11
2.47.11
2.61.11
2.69.11
2.71.11
Updater (folder contains tested and working ROM updater v2.5.2 (for wizard-no ID))
Directions for use:
1) download and unrar Radios.rar file (password xda)
2) Copy nk.nbf file from the chosen radio folder into updater folder(overwrite if another is in there already)
3) Ran Updater.exe and follow instructions on the screen
4) To see the radio version you have go to Start -> Settings -> System tab -> Device information
All radios contain radios only so they will work with G3/G4 devices and any ROM that you already have installed(TNT/SVI). Updater will not let you proceed if your battery is below 50%(done for your own safety).
If you have Radio that is not on my list please post a link or send it to me and i will update

Sounds good
Good job Men it must be stickied!!!
Remember to said what is the only ROGERS Radio!!! from canada it dont works on most of the other carriers.

This should Definitely be stickied!!
And thanks for hunting them all down!
but i agree with + Que PPC, you should edit your post and list which one's were for each carrier, like 2.19 = Tmobile stock, 2.25 = Cingular/ATT stock, ect ect for atleast which one's we know of for sure
Thanks again ^^

unfortunatly i have no idea for brands since i found them all over the net and this forum, what i can vouch for is that they are what they say they are, i checked all of them on my wizard when was searching for missed calls issue

yes
You can find which one is for Only ROGERS users on TNT roms thread

I found the link on tnt thread you referring to(Rogers only radio) but it seems to be cooked into the TNT ROM, is this the one you referring to: http://rapidshare.com/files/114486530/TNT.19213_Professional_Ragers_Wizard.rar???
Cant check whats inside since i am on my wizard on the plane now and this file is 55mb

I heard that there are newer radios for wizard that are in 3.xx range now, anyone have one of those?

Only thing i do and you apparently missed it, its in the link and its 2.19
is 2.71.11 still the latest radio available? no 73.73.79 yet?

Hi,
Yesterday I installed the 02.71.11 rom from your collection which seems to work OK up to now. But today I saw that T-mobile (my provider) also provides a radio rom update to 02.71.11 (link). I compared the 2 binary files and they seem to be different. Any clue what the difference could be?

I have the Official T-mobile Windows Mobile 2003 ROM!!!!

I have in my power right now which is supposedly the final T-mobile Windows mobile 2003 release.
From the source that I got it from:
I got my hands on a T-Mobile 2003 release for PPCPE!
This is a pretty complete build, and it also updates your radio stack.
Usual disclaimers apply.

I tried doing it but it tells me that my device is not compatible with the program. I'm guessing is because I'm running the 2003 version that is been circling around the web. Also, I have the AT&T Radio Stack update. I'll try to Restore the original ROM, and then upgrade tomorrow.
One weird thing though, the readme file looks like like the last upgrade that they did (old). It menctions that updates the Media Player to 8.5, whereas the WM2K3 has the WMP 9.0, hmmmm...weird.
Whoever wants to try it, and gives me his FTP server in the next 20 min gets it! is late and I'm going to sleep, if not I'll send it to you guys tomorrow
Update!!!, I couldn't wait and I did the upgrade!!!
once you downgrade things get easier.
Bootimage that says T-mobile "Test Only Not for Sale"
Rom Version 4.00.10 ENG
ROM date: 06/20/03
Radio Version: 6.24.00
Microsoft Pocket PC Version 4.20.1081 (Build 13100)
I will keep updated!! As I play with it
UPDATE:. One of the programs included is ClearVue PDF and ClearView Presentation. Also AOL AIM!
Also, in the Network settings, there is an "auto pick" and the regular GPRS and VPN GPRS
GPRS is ZIPPPPY!!!
The OS seems very stable and fast, of course, I don't have anything installed. I gotta get some sleep, so, I'll catch up tomorrow, (or later for that matter)
What is the difference from the version 4.00.05 that is available here on the forum? Is it better or more stable (less bugs)?
You think I can flash the just the ROM of T-Mobile version over my xda Asian version without flashing the radio stack?
Does it have the Media Player 9 or still 8.5? And if it's the official release, why does it say "Test only not for sale" on the boot up screen?
Thanks in advance.
Yorch, can you temporary put it in your website??
by the way, its down for quite awhile already right?? what happened??
Thanks to Yorch:
ftp://ftp.alain-net.net
Usr: xda
Pwd: xda
There are 2 ROMs there:
- official-tmo2003.rar (the exe with Radio update)
- 4.00.10 NK.nbf.zip (only the ROM (nk.nbf) without the Radio part)
EDIT:
I haven't tested TMO2003 myself, so be carefull, especially on a non-Tmobile phone because ther is a RADIO update included inside. Maybe we can split the package, but I have to check that later.
(Thanks ejdmoo)
Remember people, this next release from Tmobile includes a radio update. This is the realm where "just reflash with a different ROM" doesn't work.

Are you saying you can't just use the extracted NK.nbf file on its own to do a SD flash?
You can do that, but don't run the EXE if you do not want to update your radio stack.
Radio 6.24.00... so it's 900/1900, right?
Gave it a quick try but going back to 4.00.05.
Problems with phone part, no GPRS signal. and obvious T-Mobile branding.
Was interested in AIM but was not built into ROM or at least I couldn't see it

Yeah, is Windows Mobile 2003, so It does have WMP9, the readme file I guess Is just the old one, this file is not the Final and Official Release, is the T-mobile release of it, I'm guessing is the Pre-release version and used for testing, and you should considered as such. (if you want to only run whatever is official then don't run it, But If you want to be in the bleeding edge then go ahead and do it). I'm assuming once they are ready for prime time, they will rewrite the Readme file, and take out the bootimage "Test only".

Unfortunately, I'm using my current ISP (Earthlink), which only gives you 10MB of space and limited bandwidth, If someone would be willing to donate Webspace (around 10MB) I would certainly appreciate it (and the community too). I would love to host all the ROMS for people to have a central location and easy access to them, and have a kitchen where people can customize their own ROM, but unfortunately, I don't have the space

Yeah, is not ovbious, is in the \Windows directory, just create a shortcut to Programs, and that's it. (is pretty much the same as PAC-MAN was hidden in the 1st ROM release [OZONE].
I've alreay extracted the nk.nbf and put it on my FTP.
My FTP is limitted to 5 connections and 45 Kbyte/s. So it is a little slow because when there are 5 users connected you should get around 9KBps. But I guess you guys (and girls ) don't mind since my FTP has continually 5 connections since I put it on my FTP.
Another news from the source of this file:
I got this from a source deep in Tmobile land. I was told this is VERY close the the final release they'll make in August. It is WM2003 that has been customized for tmobile.

I have searched for this info on google and on xda and I cannot find.
Thank you in advance.
You can open it with Winrar or Powerarchiver and a lot of other compression programs.
Good luck

Question...?
I have a question, if I load up the test rom on my T-Mo, will I be able to load the final release without a hitch or should i back up my orignal rom before??
Its always a good idea to backup your ROM and I strongly suggest doing so!
one question, I got an XDA with me, I know I will **** up my radio by loading in the PPC 2003 final edition..is there anyway which i can run the update without upgrading the radio stack??
thanks

I did pull it from the Artemis and I'm redoing it now. You're right it don't work but it doesn't brick. I looked at the size and the Hex Dump of both and they are similar. The Artemis ROM even had the G3 and G4 IPL and SPL when I decoded the ROM. I had so much hope but no go.
I was considering the Excalibur ROM as well but its bigger than the Prophet/Wizard radio ROMs. I'm more apt Prophet/Wizard Radios are usually around 2.5MB. The Excalibur ROM is 2.8MB. Not sure the the dedicated Radio space on the Prophet but the difference is just enough to brick.
I've already decoded it. If some one wants to try the Excalibur I'll post it.
i dun mind trying excalibur as well.. but redo the artemis 1st. i'll try again once u finish.. if u look at the post in artemis forum it says 2.67 got good battery life.. dat i want!! lol..
Confirming the radio rom does not work as well on my S200
I've created a G3 version for my S200 but it's not working, doesn't find the provider any longer, I'll play around some more, but a no go so far.

Radio rom upgrade problem!
I upgraded my s200 RadioROM to 2.63.90. Now my Phone lost Radio Rom and lost the GSM signal. The phone become very slow and con't activesync to the pc. I have try but can't upgrade any other rom now! Can someone help me?
I had the same problem! After radio update, Prophet does not connect to the PC anymore. I,ve managed the problem with the following steps, take them exactly:
1. Download the linked file and extract it in a known place: ftp://xda:[email protected]/Uploads/Wizard/2_47_11_radio.rar
2. Disconnect Prophet from the USB cable;
3. Enter in the boot loader mode (press power button + camera button in the same time and hit reset);
4. Connect the cable and in the left down corner the USB name will apear;
5. Go to the directory that you extracted from the downloaded file and start ROMUpdateUtility_Wizard_NoID.exe (is in itallian, but there are the usual steps for upgrading ROM, so I think you'll manage).
After this, hopefully the upgrade Radio ROM process will start!
I'll repet myself, follow exactly this steps with attached file, this was my way and the only that worked for me!
P.S. Someone should delete the 2.63.90 Radio ROM file from th Prophet FTP, is dangerous and brakes your Prophet!
Thanks very much! My Phone has come back!

I really shouldn't do this since I'm a Sprint guy but it doesn't look like there is much Alltel help around here. The steps are fairly simple ( make SURE you double check on the upgrade threads)
1. Write down all your phone info (MSID, etc.) in case you need to reprogram the phone later.
2. Upgrade to the latest Sprint ROM (this is basically to get the new Radio with GPS capability)
3. Load SPL 2.40-olipro bootloader (Extremely important! - DO NOT attempt to load a custom ROM without this bootloader installed)
4. Load any Custom ROM you want (most Custom and Kitchen ROMs will have an Alltel specific ROM)
Enjoy.
(just to be safe, if you are running Windows, I'd do this on a XP machine.)

Telstra HTC HD - Flashing the ROM

I have a Telstra branded HD and wanted to know if anyone has tried flashing the ROM on one of these to a standard ROM?
If so, which one did you use to flash the ROM?
Not that I know anything about flashing ROM's and the phone is only a day old so I am a little worried about trying it.
The first thing I suppose.....is there anyway of backing up the ROM and anything else needed to return the phone to a Telstra branded ROM for warranty purposes if required.
I am at my wits end with this phone in it's current form as I am trying to run it with a vodafone SIM, so all the Telstra shortcuts and websites don't work anyway, that and the Telstra tab seems to replace the weather tab with the current ROM.
I suppose I had better see if I can search the forum for instructions on flashing ROM's for dummies....anyone know a good thread?
Flashing a ROM is not difficult its flashing an spl that is scary(since if you mess up or if your device shuts off while its in the process you have a brick in your hands now, with a rom all you need to do is try again.), also if you want it to be at stock condition if you want to revert back to the original ROM, then use USPL, doesn't change the spl. You have to dump the ROM from the device and then you save it some where safe, then you flash a ROM of your choice. Its not that hard to initiate the process though, since its basically the same for all the devices, if you search around here on the forum for a guide then that should do you some good , but since I am nice here are some useful links.
Guide to flashing:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Flashing Guide
USPL:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=462347
HSPL:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=431217
List of cooked ROMs:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=464463
Awesome, thanks for that, I am off to do some reading, one quick question...
On the first guide it says I need to CID-unlock the phone, it that what USPL and HSPL can do for me?
Yea, you don't have to cid unlock since its not available for the Blackstone yet.
Just HardSPL'd my Telstra BLAC120?
I've just used HardSPL on my Telstra Touch HD which is a BLAC120? Is it safe to continue flashing ROM's or can I somehow go back to the original SPL? Then use USPL?
The phone is still in working order after the HardSPL Flash.
Cheers,
-Lucus
HSPL is perfectly fine, but if you want it to be like stock(for warranty purposes), just use USPL to flash the original spl back. You are perfectly fine how you are Lucus Maximus.

This is making my head spin.....been reading and downloading and I am getting very confused, once it all falls into place I am guessing it is going to be easy.
Right I would like to dump the existing ROM and flash with a new one....I need to confirm the steps and what is required.
CID-Unlock the phone, from what you said I don't need to worry about this part
1. Run USPL - have downloaded v2.4...should be good to go
2. What is RUU Update as it mentions it in the instructions for USPL
3. I am guessing at this point I need to backup the existing ROM, not sure how this is done
3. Then the guide says to download the new ROM and run the exe and follow the steps.....sounds easy enough
Some of the guides don't really explain much.....anyway I am thinking of giving it a go.
So do you flash radio's and splash screens using the same method.
Sorry for all the questions (I am guessing you have heard them all before, but I can't find a thread from a ROM flashing virgin like me with all the info), I have been reading, but gets a little confusing after a while.
Ok, RUU update is just the .exe file to use the .nbh(rom file) so it can start flashing.
Hmmm. . . . . .if I had any htc device right now I would make a video guide. . . .
It takes like 2 times for you to get used to flashing a phone, don't worry we have all been there .

Been looking at this.......
Dutty's ROMS
What is the difference with these:
HD V1.7 5.2.20769.1.4.5 Full CVSD WWE
HD V1.7 5.2.20769.1.4.5 Full MSVC WWE
I am yet to work out all this ROM talk......I am guessing WWE is the English version, but what is "CVSD" & "MSVC"
Oh and how do I work out what radio version these ROMS use to make sure it is the same as the one I have
When you turn on your device, look at the red R and see what it says, then when you flash a ROM with a different radio, just re flash yours.(same process as flashing a ROM but easier, and there are different radios available to DL).

Thanks for that....right now to go and find myself a new ROM.
Just out of interest, which ROM did you use Lucas?
Been looking at this.......
Dutty's ROMS
What is the difference with these:
HD V1.7 5.2.20769.1.4.5 Full CVSD WWE
HD V1.7 5.2.20769.1.4.5 Full MSVC WWE

FAQ: What are CVSD and MSVC.
Solution: CVSD is Cyberon Voice Speed Dial which is mostly the default voice application in most shipped ROMs. MSVC is Microsoft Voice Command which is an advance voice application from MS.
I tried Black Pearl, but most things I've read are saying that Dutty's is the best, so giving that a go now.
As long as I can get all the telstra site settings working I'll stick with it otherwise it's back to the Telstra ROM untill I can find out a way to get it all working.

Too easy, flashed the ROM to Duttys v1.7
Now to go and find all the missing ring tones and stuff, I think I saw something in a thread about Dutty having extra cabs to install this stuff...
I would recommended this to anyone who is trying to run the Telstra branded HD on anything other than the Telstra network.
Getting there now, I have managed to download all the ringtones and stuff, so I have more than the 3 ringtones supplied with the ROM
Where is this MSVC that is supposed to be part of the ROM???
Off to search some more and see what other software I can find.
This has made the Telstra branded HD a lot better, all Telstra branding has gone, including splash screen and the phone actually works now, can get POP3 email, Internet, Exchange email etc without an issue.
The first thing it did was set the phone up for the correct Network as soon as I put in the SIM and powered it up....great!
Well I was really pissed off with the HD with all the Telstra branding and was at the point of returning the HD and going back to the iPhone, but now things are starting to look up......we will see how things go.

Yep, all you needed to do is change the ROM, you didn't need to return anything. It was just the shipped ROM that's all.
Thanks again for your help....
Still trying to find the MSVC app in Dutty's ROM v1.7???
I downloaded the MSVC version, but can't see the application
great info here guys, just got my HD the other day and dislike all the Telstra branding. one question though before I begin changing ROM's, did you guys finally end up getting the weather tab to work, or the "customize tabs" option in the settings tab?
cheers,
Ditto! Can someone pls confirm Dutty's ROM has weather+stocks tab etc? And can someone who downloaded the Telstra ROM off HTC please mirror it somewhere? (attach here or mediafire it etc). Or if anyone has an official Blackstone rom from another region that would be good too... many thanks!

[SOLVED]Trouble with the rilphone.dll in my ROM

I have been working on cooking a ROM for my Tilt2 using the osKitchen. Everything is going swimmingly except for a couple of last things.
I am having some trouble with my phone connection and signal. The signal shows 5 bars and then then drops to 0 and stays that way for a while then jumps back to 5 bars. I have noticed this behavior no matter what the signal actually is. I may have messed up a setting but it seems like this all started happening when I tried to change out the rilphone.dll. Are there any things that I need to consider when using another rilphone.dll? I just grabbed the whole folder of the one that I wanted to use and replaced that in my OEM Driver folder. I am sure that I am using a TouchPro II rilphone.dll. I have tried three different ones from other stock roms and I know that they are radios that work on my device. Are there other files that I need to include? Or other settings that will affect performance?
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
cj

posting from the road..
re: rilphone.dll:
one way to implement would be to dump the rom that comes with the radio, grab rilphone.dll, insert into your rom, cook.
but that only works if you have the oem/rom/sys or if the rom is unprotected so you can dump/recook..
if the chef has patched nk.exe in your rom to skip security checks, you can simply copy rilphone.dll to device as rilphone2.dll
or similar, and change the registry to point to that, soft reset.. if rom is not cert patched it won't load without proper signatures.
if i recall there's a program in development and hacking forum that will allow you to open any nbh, and extract/inject single files..
with that program you can simply extract desired rilphone.dll, inject into desired target rom prior to flashing.. no need to worry about
signatures as rom files are always trusted. that way is probably easiest
apologies for poor formatting, etc.

I appreciate the reply. That link had some good info and Da_Gs quote was definitely great information.
Unfortunately, I am not having trouble getting the dll. I have several that I have pulled from stock ROMS that will all work in my Kitchen. The problem is that they don't seem to work completely. I can make and receive some calls but the signal and radio are very inconsistent.
After some more testing I can report that it is definitely the rilphone.dll. When I switched back the dll folder from my stock ROM all is well. There must be something else that I am not considering.
Thanks again,
cj
Hi CJ,
Although swapping around the RILPHONE.DLL usually provides functionality, keep in mind that each carrier compiles their own version for their Radio Stack. So in short, the RILPHONE.DLL is generally intended to work with a specific Radio Stack ... it's one of the reasons you'll often see the Radio & RILPHONE.DLL as one package.
HTH,
Thanks HTH,
I did try to flash the appropriate radio with each rilphone.dll which I assume is what you mean by Radio Stack. Sorry to be so noobish on this. I will keep trying. Maybe I did change an important setting. It has been known to happen.
Thanks again,
cj
Correct.
For example, if you look at the Raphael ROM Development forum Radio thread, you will notice that the poster(s) always include the RILPHONE.DLL with the RADIO.NBH file.
Cheers,
Solved!
Ok. so the answer is that I coked in a package called GSM_RSSI. Not really sure what this package does but it seems that it is only found in the ATT Tilt2 Dump. When I disabled that package then the newer dll's work great.

That package provides ATT functionality and the 5 signal bar graphic. It reads right from rilphone. If you enable it with another ril youll get flashing or no signal bars. If you use the ATT rilphone you get 5 signal bars. If you use custom top bar graphics it will override other dll files. Be sure you remove the corresponding reg keys in oemoperator or you develop other issues.
