OPAL dialer, someone has installed it? - Touch GSM General

Hi I have an HTC touch and i want to install this dialer
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=430354
But when I install it , fails.
Anyone knows how to install this on our HTC Touch Elfin?
Thank you so much.

If you have another dialer already installed (non original) you have to uninstall that first. Other then that, I haven't tried this one yet myself. Still testing another that seems to be working nicely right now for now.

What dialer are you using?
I've been using Minimal dialer recently, but my phone freezes everytime I do a conference call, or answer a call waiting, etc.

I am using Mr. Incredibles 3D dialer and so far it works great; however, I have not had to use Call Waiting or made any conference calls with it yet so I cannot say anything about how it would react to those things. Have been testing it for about two weeks now.
if you want to check it out follow this link

Indeed, that's the solution. But I'm wondering what causes this behaviour...normally, the Molski-Roms don't cause this kind of problems.
You should try install another dialer skin. I remember read about this problem of Molski recent ROM
i just installed a new dialer.. works great now!

Updated: Combo HTC 3G Dialer and SmartDial (3 April 2009)

Have you been getting frustrated with some of the dialers that after you install, either the screen will look funny (see first picture) or smartdial menu is not appearing?
Well, after many testing, I have managed to find the solution to make it work. The skins I used for this 3G combo dialer comes from bluemetalaxe and sakajati. Special thanks to both of them for their skins.
I only have a Kaiser, so not too sure if it will work for other phones. Do let me know if it works for other phones. Note that the new skins is only for portrait, not landscape. For landscape, it is the default from HTC. Hopefully, I can get some skins for landscape to add into the cabs.
Enjoy:
Steps to make it work:
1. SR your device.
2. Use a registry editor to delete the following registry. Note that some of the registry keys cannot be deleted the first time round, so after you have finished the list, do a SR and repeat the deleting of registry keys.
3. Do another SR and install the smartdial cab. Next install the 3G dialer cab.
4. Copy the white background video buttons from this link (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3486541&postcount=36) to \Windows. (New screen capture had been added).
5. SR and you should have a working 3G dialer.

Anyway, after that error it can continue install 3G dialer and finish. SR again.

I tryed it but video call dont work on my Trinity with French Rom (Netdrg 3.5L)
Apprearence is OK except in the "menu" which shows some trouble. I think it's due to smartdialling.dll.0409.mui and phcanrc.dll.0409.mui that are in english (0409) and not in French (040C).
Any Idea ?

Sorry, not too sure but if you think it is due to the two files, and if you have the right French files, pm me and let me know. I can change the two files for you and make a new cab.
Thank you for the proposal. I need first to find the 2 files.

Did you follow the steps I mentioned to delete those registries in between SR?
I've not experienced what you had mentioned. Tried on many Kaiser roms and works all the time without the problems you highlighted.

yes i did ... i actually did remove the entries from my rgus from rom kitchen and did then cook it in, but still the same issue
i guess it has something to do with that reg-key HKLM\SOFTWARE\HTC\PHONE\NikeOptionOnOff .. i did set this to 0 and the phone did actually not dial after softreset - but still "auto-dial" when switching on from standby
I installed Smartdial and 3G dialer and everything works perfect without any problems.
The only thing that changed and didn't wanted it to, is that the icons on the taskbar have changed, even the battery icon.

I have not try uninstalling it, but did you try installing the old version and see what happened/
The bluetooth icon is part of the HTC dialer software. Now that you are using a custom dialer, the bluetooth symbol will not show.

I'm not familiar with contact manager - did that also replace the dialer? I tried inesofts solution some time ago and had the same problem - hence the reason i know its the dialer. Uninstalling solved the problem.
Have you uninstalled it? if so, did the icon return? If not, are you now seeing the htc dialer or the wm6 dialer?

This is the only dialer that has removed the bluetooth icon completely....I've tried them all as the standard is pretty rubbish - dont know why it hasnt come back after uninstall?...
It didnt happen on any previouse versions that I used.
I quiet like the software and layout and functions so have re-installed it...Think I will have to live with it till a solution comes about.

installing phonEx did replace the dialer.

thanks for yr input.
You can try to use program such SKTools (Tune up!\Phone Edition\) to enable the OEM Dialer skin. The bluetooth icon should be back.
It's back
After uninstalling, I still had the standerd dialer - hence no BT icon. Somehow, after using the dialler a few times a message appears to uninstall the last part of Phonex - and then soft reset. And there the lovely blue icon appeared again, together with the HTC dialler. Although one could blame Iconsoft (and they have to solve it I guess in a new version), it is quite stupid of HTC to combine their dialer and the BT icon. And I can't think of a reason why. Anyhow, Phonex is great, I love the smooth scrolling and access. So I also can live with one icon less, although I would love to have this solved. So let's al inform Phonex about this issue (only on the HD?)

V1.4 is out, give it a go. There were a few bugs in 1.3.5, for me the dialler interface kept going back to the standard one but so far with 1.4 its seems to have fixed it so it may have addressed your problem.

Voice Command 1.6 on Xperia -- caller announcement

It works for me now that I've disabled the Xperia dialer. One way to disable the dialer is by using the Schap Advanced Config program. I wonder if I'm the first to figure this out?
Do you have no dialer at all now? Mine has been disabled but I have PhonEx installed and call announcing still doesn't work.
No, I have the original windows dialer. It's actually kind of cool to switch off and see a new dialer, since I didn't like the HTC dialer too much.

Wow, never tried it because it says needed for video calling.
But in fact I like the windows (6.5) dailer much better than the HTC one.
And video calling is still possible (the same way).
Thanks for the Info, Sfkn2!
PS:
caller announcement confirmed working.

Thanks for the info, but can you hear the called id clearly from the X1?

Yep, very clearly.
WhyBe - It may work with the HTC dialer since call announcement works on the HTC phones, though I haven't tried it personally.
^^^ Thanks, but I only use the stock SE ROMs, no HTC ROMs.

Anybody found a way to route the sound to the bluetooth on the X2 yet???

Please Cab AT&T Dialer? anyone?

Can any one cab up the original AT&T Dialer, cause most roms including the one I use doesn't have that, and for all of us using the AT&T version of the touch pro 2 and using roms, we all seem to be having the same lag and lock up problem with the HTC phone dialer and accepting calls.
Thank you.
