Anybody know how to enable it by default?
I've tried the SMSNotify Control Panel thingy and also lookoed in the Reg where it is definitely set to "On".
Still no notification though.
It's an htch Touch by the way.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Scrub that...works after all. Sorry
Nothing to see here

Bluetooth on Today

Can someone make a cab that would be a plugin for the today screen that would show a bluetooth icon that would allow me to turn BT on and off? What I have is the HTC home plugin, and i would like the BT icon under that on the left with my calendar showing up to the right of it....Do you understand what I mean? I have looked and looked but haven't found anything to do this. PLEASE someone help me. I have found one program similar but all I want is BT control with the icon. Can someone help me? Basically the BT icon on the left and my calendar show up right next to it on the right.
Thanks in advance!!
There's a program called BTToggle that allows you to turn it on or off just by launching it. You can put a direct link on your screen or as I did, a assigned one of my hotkeys to it...

restore (rebind) RESOLUTION & CONTROL?

How do I restore (rebind) the RESOLUTION & CONTROL dedicated buttons to the corresponding applications? And what did I do that unbound them?? [Apologies in advance if this has been asked and answered already; I just joined here, and searching FAQ etc didn't find anything relevant.]
answer to my own question
I found that NuClear235 had already posted an answer at
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=378650
But it did not work exactly as NuClear235 described. My Synaptics control panel did not have any BUTTONS option. I installed the generic driver from synaptics.com and the BUTTONS option appeared. ControlCenterLauncher.exe should be bound to SCROLL LEFT as described, but ResolutionSwitchLauncher should be bound to SCROLL DOWN, not SCROLL UP as he stated. It works fine now!!

Programmatically Controlling Backlight Brightness

I am trying to write a Today screen item that will allow a user to quickly change the backlight dimmer level (i.e. hit a button go to x% hit another button go to y%). I have been able to find plenty of information regarding device power states and turning on and off the backlight, but nothing what so ever on how to control the current dimmer level.
Could somebody point me in the right direction? Specifically I am hoping to find a low-level API function that I can easily hook into (which is what I would expect) and also related registry keys (which I assume are what's being used by the backlight control panel).
Thanks in advance!
Look for MVBklight, it's a backlight app, really great with today plugin, pop up dimmer and cycling functions. Hope it helps you to do your own stuff.
Thanks for the above link. I think I may have actually found an english version, but I still haven't given up programming my own today item (especially since I want to learn the ins and outs of Today Screen items in general).
I think I've narrowed it down to the following
// Get a handle to the LCD device.
hLCD = CreateFile(TEXT("\\.\LCD"), blah, blah);
// Get the display brightness
DeviceIoControl(hLCD, IOCTL_VIDEO_QUERY_DISPLAY_BRIGHTNESS, blah, blah);
The problem I am having now is that when I specify the above device (\\.\LCD) I get a file not found error. I have a feeling that the device name may actually be different (even though this was an example given on MSDN it was for a laptop LCD i believe). How do I know that this is the proper name for the device? Is there a way to enumerate device names? Do I have to create a link for a device name to a device?
Thanks again.

Getting access to Control Panel applets

Hey folks,
New pretty much stock T-Mo HD2. Customized with some tweaks/cabs found in XDA, but stock ROM.
The overlay Sense program restricts access to much of what was in Control Panel - like Owner info, and HW button configuration.
How do I get access to these areas? I've installed twaked the registry key for the Owner info - but it's not available in any of the other Settings areas...
I really need both items: Owner info, and HW Button config.
Help? Searched XDA for hours today - no find.
Thanks!

BsB Tweaks has switches to give access to both owner info and the standard windows settings (HW buttons, etc). I haven't used it on an HD2 yet, but many others have, it should get you access to what you need.
It's just a simple list of "on-off" switches, you'll see what you're looking for once you run it.
Hey - thanks!
I actually just found both in the Settings area, Menu command, All Settings.
However, the only configurable button in this area is the Send button. I'd like to map one of the other 4... Any known tweaks?

I'm afraid I don't...there's a great button remapper for the TouchPro2, but I don't believe it'll work on the HD2. I'm sure there's a way, I just don't know what it is
