SIM Lock / "Network is locked. Please input unlock code." - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

Hi All,
After the original contract with the carrier expired, I have unlocked my Qtek A9100 G4 with the IPL 2.21.0001 / SPL 2.21.olip, and was able to install an newer OS (WM6 Pro vs. the WM5 AKU2 that came originally).
Works fine with the original movistar chip, however when I try put in an Claro chip from one of my data cards, the Qtek opens the "SIM Lock" program and sends the following message: "Network is locked. Please input unlock code."
I have introduced the PIN of the Claro chip (movistar opens without asking for anything) but that's not the information it asks. The Claro chip works fine in the Huawei E226 USB card, without asking for anything.
I would like to discuss what information is being requested. Should I make additional unlock procedures? Who should provide the code? Claro or movistar.
Movistar operates locally in the cellular band (850 MHz), Claro operates PCS (1900 MHz). I'm in Peru. The movistar chip is an 128 kb version, the Claro is an 64 kb chip.
Thanks in advance for any information.
The Loco.
PS.
I ran the lokiwiz program, which showed the code.

Thanks 4irm,
I have unlocked the phone already. The issue now is the data configuration:
- The local operators express their configuration with both: the number *99# (apparently it's the same number for movistar and claro) and the Access Point Name / APN (which is movistar.pe or claro.pe respectively).
- The network wizard doesn't include the information for Peru.
- When I set a new connection, it asks for the number, but it doesn't allow to introduce the APN anywhere.
So far, I'm using the Network Wizard choosing Spain as the country and operator movistar, which auto-configures the device and later allows to introduce the APN (but not the number) and in that way the data connection works for both movistar and Claro.
However, I'm wondering what number is being called and if there is a better way to do this. I would appreciate any information about how to configure both, the number and the APN for the data connection.
Best Regards,
The Loco.

Why cant I use another network's Sim Card after Unlock?

Hi guys n' gals
I have XDA 2, using the following:
ROM Version: 1.60.00WWE
Rom Date: 12/03/03
Radio Version: 1.10.00
Protocol Version: 1337.18
ExtROM Version: 1.60.50
I have installed the XDAUnlock2 program and after I run it I get a successful message, then whin I insert my other Sim (UK: 3 network) I get a message saying invalid or no sim installed. Anyone got any idea's?
Many thanks
Matt
you wont be able to use a 3 sim, this is a UTMS provider
people report that older 3sim cards works but newer ones dont
utms phones use gsm networks when the coverish of utms is absent
Have you tried a sim card from any other network in your xda2 just to make sure the phone unlocked correctly?
I was under the impression that 3 network uses different types of SIM cards depending on when you bought your sim.
From what I can tell it seems to be luck of the draw whether your SIM works or not. (newer USIMs being less compatible)
Does the SIM work in any other GSM phones?
Personally I wouldn't bother persuing this - as I seems, from reading other posts on this forum, that you'd probably be limited to just calls. It seems that SMS and GPRS don't always work.

XDA-developers Special Edition ROM

Can someone advise me please I am new to XDA
when installing "XDA-developers Special Edition ROM" did you have to leave the sim card in the phone during installation?
Kind Regards
Moore, the rom doesnt affect the radio stack so it doesnt make a difference.
Cruisin-thru,
Thanks
much appreciated. NO SIGNAL what have I done wrong.
Regards
Enter bootloader, once bootloader shows press the button below antenna, choose your band from there, if the label on your phone says PW10a1 then choose 900/1800. If its PW10B1 then choose 900/1900. Hope that works for you.
Thanks,
I have PW10B1
The botton under the earial is the Calender bottom. should I choose the
900/1900 I thought is for America and North America.
I live here in England.
would it still work. do I need to change the GPRS as well?
Regards
If the label saya PW10B1 then your phone is capable only of 900/1900 which is for USA mainly, if your sim card is from Orange T-Mobile or Virgin then it will not work for that phone, all that will work will be Vodafone O2 or Tesco. It is no good choosing 900/1800 because the hardware will not allow this.
Thanks very much

Dualsim & Sim Status Switcher

Hi to the list,
This message is addressed to the italian guys maybe also someone else can give me an hand.
I ma using a qtek 9000 with a dual sima and the Sim Status Switcher program.
I use them with an Italian sim TIM 128k and an italian SIM WIND 64k.
All seem to work perfectly but i have only one strange problem:
Whe i am on Tim i can read on the Sim Status Switcher:
READY:338*******
OPERATOR: UMTS TIM (HOME)
while when i am on Wind i can read on the Sim Status Switcher :
Invalid or missing SIM
Operator: N/A.
Why this?
Anybody can tell me why when on the Wind i have this information and not as the Tim one?
I am sure that the Wind sim works perfectly because i can receive and send calls without problems.
Thanks in advance for any help that will be really appreciated.

Getting P3600i to work in USA

Hi, I have sen t my brother my Dopod D810 PDA. before doing that i got it updated to HTC P3600i hardware and got the phone unlocked. He still cannot use it in USA as it says Country code 310410 is not Recognized and ask vendor to upgrade your hardware.
Any suggetions what need to be done?
Can anyone help me?
What did you mean by "updating hardware"?
Any GSM phone with the correct band and with the correct SIM card plugged into it should work fine. I have the CHT9110 which is the Asian version of P3600i. I am using it now in US by simply putting my cingular SIM card into it and it works fine. The device does not ask you for any area code.
A bit late, see: http://www.science.co.il/Language/Locale-Codes.asp?s=hexadecimal
"Country code 310410 is not Recognized" switch this code to United States code. (i believe 409). It has nothing to do with software upgrade.
