Not true. It works with windows live mail, I have mine working. Where exactly are you getting stuck? I may be wrong, but I think you may need an account with the @live.com as opposed to the old @hotmail.com to get things working on your phone. But again, I might be wrong...

Really? When I try to sync I don't even have an Windows Live Mail option ... (I mean the program, not the @live.com).

it will automaticly update email only if you phone is online.

have a look here guys http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=334621

help please - I need to recover deleted contacts

I formated my PC and all contacts are gone. when I plugged in my wizard I I was so stupid and checked the option to sync contacts without setting the options(by default its set to make changes on the pocket PC). So, all my contacts are gone.
Is there any way to restore them ?
I have WM6 underground.
thank you
wow... that was really dumb.
(i did that too before)
if you were using wm6... wm6 uses windows live messenger. if you were using windows live messenger it syncs contacts to their server. if your contacts were synced they should be somewhere in your msn contacts. log in to hotmail and look at your contact list and see if they are still there.
if they are DON'T SYNC IT
it will erase the ones on msn if you do. but at least you still have them.

Hi hbushi,
It will depend on the way they are stored on your backup cd. If you have the pim.vol, then there is hope...

Do you have installed "outlook" or "outlook express" ?
In activesync do you see other options? like "files sync" or "media sync"?

I also hate outlook, coming thru win 98 to xp with outlook express which Im very used to.
I had to install outlook a few times to get it to work with my x1, my outlook is configured not to be the default mail program on the pc so I still use out-express on the pc and only start outlook for syncing the x1.
It (mine) keeps a different address book from express so you can configure what you want in outlook and sync to phone as required.
It took me a couple of hours to sort my contacts from uiq.

yup, either myphone, or Googlesync which you can use Activesync to sync against ur google mail.
Myphone can sync with Outlook?
Bump! Help.
Gmail can be used as a free exchange server, but for now, only to activesync Contacts and Calendars. Email is sync'd normally anyway - but the mail is not emulated as a proper "exchange" server, just IMAP (IIRC). That's still a good start though. I imagine email will follow soon though, now that they're permitting enterprises to sync email through exchange.
Haven't tried MyPhone yet though. Is that full exchange/activesync?

Hotmail on TP2

Is there a client for the TP2, so i can read my e-mails, sumthing like Outlook Express? When i use the "e-mail" program on the phone, it doesn't save my account, so everytime i open it, in have to create a new one. Windows live gives an error, and doesnt want to connect...
It's getting very annoying to use opera to check my mails...
Are you sure you set up your Pocket Outlook application properly? My Hotmail opens directly within in. You may have to configure it within th Windows Live app first -- make sure the option to "Sync E-mail" is checked.

You need to restart your phone and turn wifi on and do the windows setup connected to Wifi after you setup you can turn off wifi and use it as normal over network, some how some networks block Windows Live from setting up. That happens to me too so i need to do this steps first to get it working.

how can i remove all these contacts from my phone book? please dont say i have to do 1 by 1... plus i hate my hotmail account, to much darn spam!
don't start deleting them from your phone book! they will vanish from windows live too!
you need to signout of windows live on your phone and the contacts and email account will be removed.
