Hi,
I have some applications which don't play well in VGA. Is it at all possible to change screen resolution on the Universal (just like a PC) so it works in QVGA? I would only need this temporarily. If there is a utility that lets you do this then that might be an answer for me as well.
Thanks a lot for your help. Regards

But there are no native VGA skins... In each case it's resized QVGA skin, so the quality is very poor ;(
Can anyone post their VGA themes here? I can't understand their language so I can't register
I'll try and dig up my hacked version of the iPhone VGA theme that was from the clownfish one on ppc-theme but without the fish background and put it up later on tonight.
Ok here's the files I used to get it working. I did some editing of the original clownfish files to remove their original background but still able to keep the icons and menu bar. Works like a charm for me. qa_layout and the games.reg enable the 9 button support.
Enjoy
clownfish = iphone vga clone that they did on the ppc-theme site.
Al i want is the diamond look in spb 2.1, like http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=402021 ..... who can me help with that??

Is this a native VGA or a resized QVGA ?
Can you post some screen shots ?
I believe it's native vga. Like I said I just simply extracted the clownfish cabs and used the .dat files I needed and modified them accordingly to remove the fish background so I could just use the default colour theme backgrounds that come with it.
Basically it's the bottom menu bar, and the icon pack for the program menu. The rest is all default SPB stuff, but it works nice for me.
You can see some pics of basically what it looks like at the link below. Honestly I'm too lazy to screenshots and upload them, sorry, heh.

what are the chances to have some of the amazing stuff that posted in the SPB Mobile Shell 2.1 Theme / Skin Collections Thread ???

I have downloaded some and they looks excellent on my MDA Pro (which is 640x480).
BTW: At page 12 you find the Diamond theme in VGA.

It's not really a VGA theme but a blown up QVGA. But I made a VGA version of the diamond touch clock which is used in the "layout_C_3_contacts_vga" theme.

If you want Diamond Look on your VGA device just use Throttle Launcher with TouchFlo3D theme.

Showaco made does VGA files not me, just wanted to leave that cleared, i made the Qvga ones.
Hello.
I think that would be better if we try to change the resolution of the device , instead of porting manila's etc. ..
Is it possible?
thanks ,bye!
PS : Translated by google !
By replacing the touchscreen or......???
If it were that easy, it would have been done already. You can change the dpi of your screen, but you can't go above the max resolution because that is hardware dependent.

I've seen programs for WXGA to VGA etc. But I haven't found a VGA to QVGA yet. That would be nice to mess with....probably end up HR though...lol

That's because WVGA is just a variation of VGA, just adding a 160X480 rectangle of pixels to the bottom of the screen. VGA and QVGA are totally different. They are separated by a big hardware difference. I guess it might be possible (in theory) to downscale VGA to QVGA, but not the other way around.

In the begining of time, when Diamond isn´t release (hahaha), and Manila alpha leaked, we can run this version in our QVGA using Nyditot_Virtual_Display.
Maybe this app can help you.

They have done it with ASUS P750, which had a VGA LCD, but stock QVGA system (WM6). Search for it, You can find that the cookers made a VGA ROM for it. But of course, other way around is impossible.
NYDITOT Virtual Display should help you
would it then be possible to use the xperia panel manager or does that has an other problem???
