i put it in, and try to connect, and it gives me an error, then when i go back to the settings, in the password field, there's like 12 characters there....any idea what might be causing that?

Where are the hidden username/password settings!!?!

Ive been trying to find where i can change the username/password combination for a gprs or wap internet connection.
the only thing i can find is the initial prompt when i first dial the connection, but surely it can be changed at a later stage.
Does anyone know how to get into these settings?
passwords
i think these are server based passwords, not something a user can change. you will have your own security set up on your xda, the passwords used are login passwords
yes but i want to change them as my access passwords are different depending on which sim card i use.
I know, it is really annoying. If you select the option "Save Password", I couldn't find a way to change the password.
Either you may create another connection with different name having different username or password.
There is a way to find out the stored username.
Run a registry editor, and go to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER->Comm->RasBook and look for your connection listed in the tree.
I believe the only way to reset the password is to remove the registry entry (or the modem entry in connection manager) and create a new connection, though I don't believe it to be a bright idea.
While on the subject, I discovered that if you delete the connection:
Settings->Connections->Modify->General Tab, the modem connection neither gets deleted nor is displayed. If you try to create another modem connection of the same name, it just says that modem already exists, but does not show up.

IE Username/Passwords

I was having a play with my new SD WiFi card, and was accessing my D-Link routers configuration application which was at IP 192.168.0.11.
I was presented with the login dialog in which I enetered the admin username and password and checked the option to save password, however, the login was obvisouly incorrect and I got a 401 Authorization Required returned.
No whenever I go to my router I get the same 401. I have tried a softreset, changing the IP of the router, changing the login details on the router and everything. I have cleared cookies and temporary internet files.
I used to be able to view the application fine before I checked the save password option.
Can anybody advise of how to get around this problem? Is there a DB I can delete something from and how???
Cheers,
Dave
Do you must enter in the router system io in internet? if you want to go in internet you don't must enter the router password!
Is the Domain empty?
Cheers tuitt,
I got some help from MattM at http://www.Mtekk.com.au and managed to get around the problem by deleting the the DLink password from the registry.
Take a look at http://www.mtekk.com.au/forums/viewtopic.php?p=6244#6244 for more info.

GPRS settings password keeps changing.

I am having trouble connecting to the internet,
If I go into edit existing settings for my provider
the password comes up as a 16 stars even though I have only input 3 letters.
if I then clear the field and input my 3 letters and select "Finish", then re-examine the password it comes up again withn 16 stars not 3
Please help driving me crazy

[Q] Resetted motoblur password through PC, now cannot login through phone

So I wanted to check "locate my phone" feature of moto blur and went to the web site (https://portal-blur.svcmot.com/blur-web-portal), but could not remember my password.
I did a reset password through my laptop and changed it and logged in to the portal. But now that password is changed, phone throws up an error saying my blur password is wrong. I click on the notification to enter the new password, but the damn thing shows me the password change option with old password, and 2x new password instead of just the "enter new password" screen.
How am I going to enter my new password to this stupid blur?

Motoblur and Google asks u to relogin whenever u inset a different sim on the phone....so try putting a different sim (doesnt matter which network) relogin again .... it should work...
Not the best solution but should work..
Remove SIM card and connect via WiFi

Good idea -- that worked...
I was having the same problem.. Changed my Motoblur password (had forgotten the old one) online, then when the Atrix notified me of the password change, I got sent to the wrong screen. Changing the password here required entering the password I'd forgotten.
This procedure works on my wife's Motorola Cliq 2 - takes me to a screen that only asks to enter the new password. But my Atrix doesn't seem to do that.
I turned off the phone and extracted the SIM card -- I did not have another card handy to install, so I connected to a nearby open WiFi network. Motoblur locked the phone, and when it asked me to log in, I used my account name and the NEW password to log in, and it worked. I got one last notification about the password change, but I cleared it and moved on.
Everything seems to be OK at this point. Not the most elegent solution, but it did work for me (for now, anyway.)
I did the same thing. I had another sim card but it was a European operator card and I certainly did not want to rack roaming data for stupid blur So I waited until I went home, removed the sim, booted the phone, entered the new password, inserted old sim, rebooted the phone, re-entered the password yet again.
Deep from my heart I want to say "Idiots!" to people who coded this whole blur thingy at Motorola.
Thanks for the answers both of you by the way : o)
Looks like Motorola may be aware of the following issue (and may have attempted to fix it).
Their support site (Answer ID 63006) states: "You will need to type your new password in all three boxes, "Old Password", "New Password", and "Confirm Password".
I tried doing the following multiple times and had no luck. Finally found this thread and did what was suggested and all went well.
Had to turn the phone off/pull the back cover, battery & sim off/turn it on without sim/turn it off/turn it on with sim/re-enter my Motoblur username/password and it worked like a charm.

Browser question

I have a site I visit to read the local newspaper. I have to enter my email address and a password. The first time I entered my email address I made a typo so the login failed. I corrected the email address and logged in successfully. I created a bookmark for the site and every time I select it, the login fields are automatically filled in which I think is great. The not-so-great part is that the fields are filled in with my original typo. Is there anyway to flush this typo and replace it with the correct character string so that it sticks the next time I enter the site? I've tried turning off all the autofill options and re-entering everything but it still goes back to the original typo.
Also, is there a way to open links in a new tab so you don't have to constantly reload a site when you go back?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
