Disable shortcut to screen alignment? - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV Themes and Apps

First post!! I'm using a snes emulator but having trouble. I can use the volume keys as A & B which is what I want, but whenever I catch the middle d-button while pressing volume-up, it closes the emulator and launches the touchscreen alignment app! Anyone know how to disable this shortcut? Have searched but turning up nothing...

same here
found this topic via google when researching
did you solve this problem yet ?

Nope, still preventing me from getting full Super Mario Kart enjoyment!

How can I disable the Align Screen shortcut?

While playing the most excellent "1942", I discovered that simultaneously pressing the D-pad in and the top right button (calender) launches the "Align Screen" app. Does anyone know how to unmap this keypress combo from the Align Screen thingummy. It makes arcade gaming quite frustrating - every time I get to a tricky bit, and start pressing keys wildly, the game is interrupted.
There are other threads about disabling the screen alignment process altogether (e.g. on startup). I DON'T want to do that! Just remove the shortcut.
I have the same problem, any info would be much appreciated.
Thanks
i also want to do that and would appreciate help.
Unfortunately I could not replicate your problem,is this happening only while you are playing the game or into Today screen too?
What OS are you using?
Actually I am using Wm5 and this 'bug' is not present.
what WM5 device are you using?

Disable Align Screen shortcut for gaming

Is there a way to disable the shortcut of pressing the middle of the DPAD and the messaging button? When i play emulator games, it always pops up.
Ha, same thing here! At least now I know why it was coming up ...
Yeah, that would be q nice registry fix! Very annoying while playing action games, not so bad on rpg's though....
yea!! i cant play street fighter alpha without concentrating on not hitting the centre button. not easy i tell u..
For my snes i reassigned the buttons to be the pie button one of the buttons and the volume up another button (makes it easy to run and jump in super mario). Also, i reassigned my start to be volume down and it's perfect.

Need some help turning off a hotkey, anyway to do it? :)

Well, I'm searching around and I give up, time to ask the "Pros".
I have a 8125 and the only thing I dont like or cant fix, HOW do I turn off the align screen HOTKEY. When i'm playing a game and using the "control pad" (the outside pad with the button in the middle) I will be getting heavy hitting buttons and soon as I hit the "Message" key with that Center button...
BOOM!!!! "Align Screen" comes up and I have to align the screen and continue the game. As for remapping the buttons in the game, I could do this but prefer the 2 i'm using.
Anyone who can give me a quick fix for this...You got me beat.
Thanks for the read, and thanks for this great site.
Jay
P.S. I'm using Faria's Rom Crossbow reloaded 1.5 by Mfrazz.
Could be a BUG in the ROM or even in the GAME PROGRAMMING.
I use the D pad all the time to play games but never got the ALIGN SCREEN ... !
Does it happen only in a particular game or in general?
no it can be done anytime
if you hold down the d pad center button and hit the outside corner key with the envelope mail logo...you will pull up the align screen. its a hotkey setup..no bug I just want to remap this or get rid of it all together.
stil nothin?
bah was hoping someone would have an answer for this....still trying to find out how. anyone?

Software buttons working in Java apps

Hi,
I'm having a problem with Java apps and I did not find a solution for it for 2 weeks now so I decided to try experts help.
I wanna play some Java games but none of them seem to recognize the software buttons that are as you know located on the touch screen. I think Java apps do not realize that there's a touchscreen at all. I tried apps like AEBButtons (or something) to remap other hardware key but none seemed to work Is there a solution?
I'm using JBed 20080222.3.1
Please help.
I think you have to use AE Button Plus or go to button icon under settings to map the left and right softkeys. Those are the buttons shown on screen but cant be used by Jbed.
Hope that helps.
Yeah !! This works but I can define only one button there (camera button). Is there a way to add more buttons, like D-pad directions as you've said ??
I actually ended up using the volume up and down buttons as the left and right softkeys through AEBPlus. But There are options for long press button actions and other things so its just finding which button suits you best. BTW, I tried adding actions to the D pad but never managed it using AEBPlus (it didt recognise it when i pressed it).

[DISCUSS] Xperia Play - Gamepad Tip

Just upgraded from Nexus One to Xperia Play. Liking the gamepad so far, disliking the terrible Sony Ericsson UI and bloatware! Looking forward to root when available, then hopefully a decent custom ROM. This has the potential to be the ultimate gamers device, with the right support...
I have a little tip for those of you running FPse. In order to best imitate the PSX controller, I have mapped the L2/R2 keys to the volume up/down keys. It works pretty well, and whilst not totally comfortable for games that require a lot of use of the L2/R2 keys, it beats any alternative I have tried.
You won't be able to adjust the Media Volume in game, however if you press the Menu key, you can use the volume keys as normal.
Hope this helps!

yh thats a good tip, but i just like to use the onscreen L2/R2. i turn off all other virtual controls so they are not present on the screen and i move the L2/R2 ones to the bottom of the screen so you can access them easily and quickly.
What version of FPSE are you using.
I cant seem to map the X and O button on mine.
Very irritating.
well i've been using 10.17. i've never had trouble mapping X or O in any emulator. what exactly is happening to you? maybe try posting a video or something? it's hard to provide a solution without seeing it in action im afraid.
Why not just use psx4droid its not on the market, but you can still get it on the devs site!

Grrrrrrrr.
always press the power button when playing action game like street fighter EX2.
the power button design is really a failure

I am convinced different xperia play models exist.
It is impossible to hit my power button when using the pad. I can try my hardest to knock the power button even when using L1 and fail every time.
Power buton is hidden away nicely on my play.
Strange.
For people having trouble mapping certain keys try selecting them on screen in the menu with your finger then press X to map it.

Got a Xperia Play today and the first thing I did was installing snes9x EX. I had exactly the same problem, mapping the circle key seemed to work ok as the other buttons, but when I tried to play any game all worked fine 'til I used the circle-key (then it acted like I was pressing the "back" button on the phone).
This was VERY annoying but I found a solution. Atleast in Snes9x EX. In the options --> key config I just set the "Exit"-key (which default was mapped as "back") to "None". So now the circle-button is working as it should when playing snes-games. Actually it still is mapped as "back" (and pressing the "back"-button does the same as the circle-key - this is by the way how the two buttons seem to act by default on the phone) but it works
Sorry for my bad english, and hope this helps. I'll try install the psx emu tomorrow.
