Hey everyone. I have big problem and i need a help or somebody who can help me fix my problem. When i use XDA-developers-SER-v12 to upgrade my SX56 my PC freeze up and upgrade wasn't finish . Now i can see on my display only black and white line. Nothing more or less. PPC is not working with my PC
Anybody can help my or give me any adress i can send PPC to fixed (if it's possible) ? Or i don't know what can i do ........... :roll:

You need to use sd card flashing method, your phone will be ok, just look around the forum look for sd card flashing.

OK but how can i reflash my SX56 with SD cadr if I don't have any back up ?
plus everybody has bootloader 5.17 or older but my is 5.22 :-(

you have 2 options both use SD card:
1. get ROM backup from any other working XDA.
2. get SD card reader/writer. change the extention of the ROM file you cooked to .zip and use winzip to extract a file named NK.nbf under \english directory. use the SD writer to copy this file to the SD card.
in both cases, insert the SD card into your XDA and use the bootloader.

I had a similar problem last year. I found that while the ActiveSync monitor shows no connectivity you will still be able to transfer an OS image. One hiccup I did find, and I am running wallaby 5.17 by the way, is a version conflict with the proposed rom and existing header information. This is a windows registry problem on your PC caused by the crash which needs to be deleted prior to attempting the upgrade.

I was wondering. Can u only install apps with activesync, or can u also install from the sd card?
I'm new to pocket pcees, and i work with apple computers. Activesync does not run on them.
Also i was wondering were is the file were my contacts are stored, and can i copy this file from the device to my sd card in it?
My parents do own a pc, but it would be cool if i could install and back up things without it.

You can install from the SD Card. One way is to put the *.CAB file on your card open explorer click the cab file and it will install. I think the path will stay wih the Card though ( Correct me if I'm wrong here someone) so the app will be on the card as aposed to the device.

From what has been posted, the install mechanism is completely replaced in WM5. The install routine will always ask where you wish to install apps on the device itself, like happens on Symbian smartphones.
So installing from SD should be no problem at all.

First install Card Export II on your PPC, it will make your SD act like a mass storage... it works really good

Second.... Install any software that recovers deleted files on your PC.... lets say File-Rescue Plus

then try to recover deleted files...
Very Important.... to recover files successfully, you should do the Recover operation after files are deleted, and you should not write anything new to your card until you get the files recovered... this is because new files are being written to the same place your old filed were written to, and thus, you won't be able to recover them in case you added anything new!

Thanx a lot, I solve the problem with CardExport + TuneUp combination! USBMSC-Alpha doesn't work.
Why there isn't any programmer to write a PPC software to to undeletle directly? It would be nice without even need to go to a desktop to do it.

i have a problem with my memory card such tht whenevr i put in any files in tht after sumtime they disappear from there but my memory used is the same and i cant seem to find them anywhere. how can i resolve this problem. it is irritating me a lot. plz help
That's usually caused by the fat table corrupting. About the only thing you can do about that is to reformat the card and start over. Formatting the card in a card reader on your computer is usually the best option.

run a scandisk on your PC and it should find some files. There should be a folder called found.000. Search the web and you'll find some utilities that can search the contents of those files to see what they are if you need to find them. Or just delete that folder and you'll have ur space back.

ur card is corrupted..and as far as i know..u will have to replace ur Card..but u can try MMCMEDIC..or other repairng softwares...

All roms can be flashed this way mate, just use USPL or HSPL and use storage card method to flash

i have puted several roms(cloudy,xtgrid leo,nrg,goldlocke) in the root of my storage card and hard format my phone but my ph is not flashing with the new rom.
can any boss help me please?
i want to get rid of this trouble as soon as possible.i don't want to use any pc to flash.
what are the steps to get rid?

Personal experience is that any SD card larger than 2gb will not instal new Rom's
Cards smaller than 2gb work fine.
Yours may be different but try and see. If you do not have a small SD card they are very cheap these days mate

sure sir,my pc is disturbing,not only that,most of the time i used to brouse through my phone because due to my business i can't find enough time to sit infront of my pc.that's why i need help about storage card method.

as mentioned, ALL ROMs are capable of being flashed to a phone through SD Card. But since you are a new member, you might need to think of these:
1. did you have the correct filename of the nbh file inside your card?
it should be "BLACIMG.nbh" and must be placed at the root of your card.
2. do you know how to go to the bootloader mode(tri-color screen)?
phone off --> hold "voldown" and short press "power" button

thanks for your rep. sir, offcourse i know how to do that,i've tested most of the roms till april'10.last 3months i did not try any.but from till last few days i am trying to change my rom and non of them are working. i am using "xt grid evo", my redio is latest,i am taking rom into the root of my sd card,i am hard formating. but nothing works.
i don't know why,nobody knows why...
You have to rename the ROM image to "BLACIMG" before putting it onto your SD card. I use an 8GB card and have never had a problem.

i think you have to format youre 8gb sd card to fat 32
i also use a 8 gb card without any problems AFTER i formatted it

I think i have a dodgy card because every time i try to use it on my pc it ask's to check for errors. I have done that several times, copied everything to and from the PC to format it and it still has problems. It works OK in the phone though so I just accept the status quo and flash from the smaller card. Going to upgrade soon so will probably get a new SD card then and see if my experience changes after that. Thanks for your help though

It should be renamed "BLACIMG.nbh" NOT "BLACIMG.NBH"
Note LARGE caps AND small caps
When you reboot the phone hold down the Volume down button until the bootloader shows then wait till it reads the card. Then press power button and it will start ti flash the new ROM

All i can suggest then is try a new card mate. Like i said before, I have a card that does work and a card that won't work
i've also tryed in a 1gb card sir.anyway,no solution for my problem, bosses can close this thread.

for 1st time i hear someone to have problem flashing because of the SD card!
From 2 years i flash only from the SD card and im with the default 8GB Sandisk that comes with the Phone when i bought it.
So like already many peoples say the answer is
