ROM: 1.11.404.1 NLD
Radio: 03.15.90
Netherlands
same here and I'm from Belgium btw
maybe some one with an english rom could try it out?
I do not understand, why they don't bring out a new ROM for everyone... I mean, we also bought the device, and we have a right, getting the update!
It looks like it's only available for users in The Middle East & Africa region, since other countries don't have the link.

you guys think there's any chance this would work on a htc touch from an other region (why would they only put it on the african version of the site then? ) maybe some one from africa could try to download it and upload it somewhere so everyone can get hold of it
its work with me after i become madeeeeeeeee
i have p3470

Enable GPS on HTC Touch HD
Yesterday I purchased the HTC HD, what a lovely elegant device to deal with, now – for the 3rd. time – I'm facing the ever lasted GPS problem in Egypt as the authorities forbid the use of mobiles with GPS enabled, so companies like Nokia and HTC introduces their GPS mobiles with the GPS Comm. Port disabled.
Any ways, with the help of the Internet and good fellows I was able to solve this problem twice before, the first time was HTC Tytn II one year ago before I sold it and the second time was my beloved N96 two months ago and also the GPS was activated using a different methodology other than the Tytn II.
Is there any way to enable this Comm. Port and start using the GPS?
N.B.
QuickGPS software is not installed, I tried to update the device ROM through HTC site but when I entered my device serial No. I got a message telling me that this software is not downloadable for this device. I faced this situation once before with the N96 and I solve it through a pleasant process, when Nokia locks the mobile for a specific carrier or disable a specific feature, it does so through the firmware. And to prevent people from just updating their phone's firmware and bypass the lock, Nokia assigns "Product Codes" to each "version" of the phone. So in our case, the N96 phone that's sold in Egypt is the same as the N96 that's sold in let's say UAE except for the product code. This way, Nokia PC suite and firmware updater knows which flavor of the phone it's handling and can apply the appropriate firmware update.
The method I followed tricks the phone into thinking that it's from another region, thus enabling the firmware updater to apply a firmware with unlocked GPS.
My phone data are as follows:
ROM version: 1.14.485.1 (24011)WWE
ROM date: 17/11/2008
Radio version: 1.09.25.14
Protocol version: 52.49a.25.26U
Flash HardSPL to your Touch HD. <- Mandatory, must be done
Download and flash a stock WWE ROM from any region other then Egypt. (Blackstone Wiki)
Thank you

As long as you flash HardSPL first, you can flash any Raphael ROM to the Fuze.

Hello im new here and i have a HTC Touch Cruise (Polaris) Windows Mobile 6.1 (dutch) and i want to upgrade it now with a custom rom (dutch too) but it doesn't work it gives the error [262, 276, 284, 302] : UPDATE ERROR. I did what they say in a original RUU but nothing works i tried it too on an other PC but the same error WHAT TO DO?!?!?!?!?!
I downloaded to dutch custom roms but both same errors.
The error must be in my pda I think but it works normally
Oh, and i always do the quick recovery because ofter restart it starts normally
AND it always stops by 0% so even it doesn't begin

Same issue
I had this same issue, and i contacted HTC support with my serial number. Apparently, because i bought my from Hong Kong when it first came out, I have a different version then the version posted on the HTC main site for the U.S.A. I had to Choose Hong Kong -English as my country and download that version.
http://www.htc.com/hk-en/supportdownloadlist.aspx?p_id=59&act=sd&cat=all
You may want to check that link or other countries on HTC's web site. They will verify if that version will work before you download.
You have to hard-spl first before you can use custom roms.

Follow the instructions.
Good luck

Go to your settings tab and scroll down to "About Phone". In there, select "Software information". This will tell you the ROM version that you currently have (amongst other things).
The ROM upgrade on the HTC site is for unbranded versions only. If you want an official one for your phone then you have to wait until a Vodafone specific ROM is released. Alternatively, you can flash HSPL onto your device which will allow you to install any ROM, but this invalidates your warranty with Vodafone. If you do want to do that then do some reading in the ROM section. The stickied posts at the top of the forum are great for all levels, from total newbs to experts, so they should answer any questions you have.
Thank you very much aboput the tip.it was very hepfull
i will try to shrt it out since my rom version of my device is 1.43
I've got a HD2 with Vodafone and i managed to update to the last new ROM. I also had problems downloading it and eventually realised i was typing in O's (letters) rather than 0's (numbers). Perhaps try typing it in differently.
ah whatever happened to the good old days when an o was an o and a 0 was an ø.
My phone is not carrier locked and I updated with the previous (December) official HTC ROM without a problem. However, when I enter my s/n for the new ROM, it says it's not available for my region. I have a copy of the new WWE ROM, can I install it without a problem?

Changing the rom shouldn't change the serial number, double check you are using the correct serial (oh's as zero's perhaps?)
hi just got my hd2 a few days ago the software info is:
os 5.2.21845
manila 2.5.19202525
rom 1.43.110.2
radio 2.04.50.22)22)
protocol 15.26.50.07u
are there any updates i need to apply?
thanks
mark
well go to the HTC website... you'll be in for a surprise!!
i see theres an update to down, load but the serial number i have has lots of IO or is that 10's in it
also if i do the rom upgrade will i still need to install all the other updates or is this a fix-all?
Ive entered loads of combinations all seem to be invalid except one which states
Sorry, this software download is not suitable for your device.
???
It sounds like you got your phone from O2, Vodafone or T-Mobile rather than a 3rd party like Phones4U. This means that you can't just download and apply HTC updates.
Fear not - go to the Leo ROM development section on this forum, put HSPL on your phone and then load the latest ROM update from HTC (v1.66). This includes all the latest updates.
Use this UK serial number to download the ROM upgrade:
HT9AZNW00968
wow thanks for that...
only 2 days in and im flashing a rom... how l33t of me lolz.
