He Guys,
I don`t know much about hacking or programming my MDAII but I love this forum. I have used a lot of hacks and programs designed here.
Yesterday I was thinking it would be great to use the camera of the MDAII as a webcam when cradled. Does anyone know if this is possible or if there exists a hack for this.
Greetings,
Averix Cool
hey mate,
i asked this very same question like 2 times and so far no one has been able to shed a hint on it i've also done some extensive research through the net and so far zippo. but yes; it would be great if one could use the xda's cam as a webcam or as a live image feeder.
cheers
rob

You can use Microsoft Netmeeting's share application feature to share Microsoft PowerToys's Active Desktop or whatsever
Works quite well (go to pocketpc.com and see powertoys at developer's area for more info)

I'm still mulling over an HD2 and have a couple of App queries:
Is there are good RSS reader that will sync with Google Reader and allow me to save for offline reading?
Is there a good Ebook reader that will support pdf files?
Is there software that would allow me to playback .m4a audio files?
Hi Chris and welcome,
If you use search you will find the answers to your questions. Just used this...http://www.google.com/advanced_search?q=+site:http://forum.xda-developers.com&hl=en&lr=&as_qdr=all to find an answer to the e reader question.
Good luck.

PS: One more thing if you have not already done so; read the Hints & Tips thread on here. It should help inform your decision on buying the device.
Hi guys, I'm pretty much a noob HD2. Just got mine a couple weeks ago. Anyway, I have been having a hard to getting to config FPSEce up right. I really want to play FF7 and the game loads great, it plays the intro great, problem is I don't know how to set up a virtual dpad. I did A LOT of research all day today and I have no idea where to begin and I can't find my answers. I really want to use Kowboybebop's HD2 pack because the interface looks fantastic, but I don't know how to apply that. If that is too much to ask, I just want to know how to get on screen buttons working because I've tried and watched all the videos and I got the buttons up on the screen, but they don't work. I also read something about dpad overlays, and I've seen people use skins and I've tried to follow step by step but for some reason I just can't get it. I searched a lot of topics and nobody has the same problem with the on screen buttons and if there was nobody has answered. Can somebody please be kind enough to give me a detailed guide on how to config the on screen buttons? I really want to know how to use skins and if possible apply kowboybebop's HD2 optimizer pack. Thanks in advance guys, sorry if this is all too nooby.

Did you copy the skins from the hd2 optimized pack into the skins folder in the installation directory (program files/fpsece/skins)?

Thanks for the response. I just realized I needed the supporter version. I don't have a paypal email though even if I donated, do you know if schtruck will allow other methods to receive the supporter version after I donate? I can't set up a new Paypal because I had my SS on another account that my friend messed up and got it shut down.

If you have a credit card or debit card, you can use paypal to make a donation. That's what I did... I opened a new email address just for that, then used my credit card to make a one-time paypal payment and used that email when filling out the form. I also had problems with my old paypal account and got it shut down.
Otherwise, you can PM schtruck on the fpsece forums and ask him if you have any other options. I'm sure you can work something out with him... he's a good guy. The supporter version is well worth it.

Lately, a lot of the development of FPSECE has been directed towards the HD2. The free version has not been updated to include all of these customizations yet, so what you are paying for is a FPSECE with multitouch enabled and other tweaks that I don't know from the top of my head. It makes playing on the HD2 awesome. It's only 5 euro's which is nothing for what you get. Hit up the support forum, all info is there.
5 euros + donation to get the supporters version -- well worth it... all the games i've tried play at full speed.
The developer owns an HD2 so a lot of the tweaks are aimed at this device...yay!
follow the HD2 thread in the fpsece.net forum and you will soon have things up and running.
Hi there, I think this was released in the US only, so here's the apk for everyone else . Works just fine and it seems to be multi language as well

According to Google: http://books.google.com/help/ebooks/content.html books should be epub or pdf files. To keep the books available when offline, you need to press Menu then choose Manage ebboks and press the pin icon. This will download the ebook (if this option is available).
The books are stored inside (for me on SD): /sdcard/Android/data/com.google.android.apps.books/files/volumes. In that directory, you have a lot of subdirectories. Each one of them being a book. You then might have another subdirectory in there (if you "pinned" the book), called pages where each page is stored. I don't know the format, it doesn't open with a pdf reader but I could open it with FBReader (so I assume it's in the epub format).
Now the bad news: it is not possible yet to import external ebboks into Google ebooks ! That feature could be included in a further release, as the idea has been passed to the development team, but it does not actually exists. Quite a Shame (http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/books/thread?tid=356267d955de61a7&hl=en).
For the time being, I still prefer to use Alkido and FBReader (I do not arrive to choose which one to use yet) as I can import in these programs eoboks that I have (mainly in epub, some in pdf).

Google ebooks reader is mainly available in USA. It is not yet in UK, Japan or France. I guess this relies to agreements which have not be found between Google and major books companies (although I read somewhere that an agreement was found between a french book publisher and Google).
So it's a very early program, very limited (as it just works with Google system) and as such other solutions might be preferable (athough I installed the program and downloaded free ebooks to test it).
good but i prefer fb reader
