htc trinity availability

hi lmf here from singapore...
quite a hype for the htc trinity here but still a question mark on when it will be released here in my country, just wanna enquire has it been released yet anywhere other than ebay? hehe...

My good contact at HTC states today I will only be able to buy it in Asia from December, and it will not sport a GPS chip (what an ommission). Of course I would want the all white version, look more stylish and luxurious...at that price!

hmm december will b a good time, heard from my friends it will be available in singapore in Jan 2007, anticipating still...
white looks better than the black version n who knows, other colors might pop up

800$ (4,745 DKR) here - it cost 852$ (5,067 DKR) now since the price increased shortly after I ordered it. Fortunately I get it to the old price.
A few other dealers can be found here.
The P3300 is also avalable (for preorder) a couple of places - but it costs more than the P3600

wow that is almost like 1300SGD, quite expected for such a nice device, i believe its almost the same price when the Magician was launched in Singapore quite some time ago... thanks pal, would hope to hear a review from u soon!!!

Amazon Germany has HTC P3600 on the list for around 500 Euro incl. shipping.

Yeah right, 519 euros now. Amazon also offers the...Tytn for pre-order (not out yet), for 619 euros. Hahaha, the boys there have to get their act together.
According to my contact at HTC, there will be two PDAs with the HTC Prophet/Trinity form factor, but the one with more features than the Trinity - will only be released in the spring of 2007. Early adopters will love their Trinity - but miss out on GPS, AKU 3.0, an improved processor and a higher resolution camera. With my Tytn here now, I can wait...

Trinity OS is AKU 3.0:
OS 5.1.342 (build 15096.3.0.0).
Device feels much more responsive than TyTN.

My question to HTC was if Trinity would include the latest AKU (3.5 I think), and the answer was "no, sorry". If as per the above post 3.0 is included this would be a step in the right direction, but GPS, USB host and high resolution cam will be added later. You know the game, version I, II etc. And WM 6.0 (Crossbow) will also help sell almost identical plattforms further down the road...

As we early adopters know it is never advisable to get the 1st batch of anything, just too many bugs. Depends what one has now. A Tytn in hands is better than a half baked 2007 model, with important 2007 features (GPS, USB host, Wibro, VoIP in ROM etc.) missing.

well not that i have anything against Dopod but read in www.ppcsg.com that the service they provide, in terms of device repair and follow up is not the ideal so pray hard that when i get the device it would not give me problems so major that i have to bring to the service centre

Touch HD now available in Germany

I ordered a Touch HD a couple of days ago at Amazon.de without any delivery date.
Yesterday, they confirmed an early/mid December 2008 delivery date, too late for me.
So I cancelled the order yesterday.
Today, just out of curiousity, I looked up the Touch HD again on Amazon.de and to my surprise, a german company in Munich selling through Amazon.de had the Touch HD in stock but at that time only 4 units remaining.
I ordered one immediately and I hope to get it around Friday.
When I returned back to Amazon around one hour after my order, the dealer had only ONE unit left, so it seems these babies move fast.
Just wanted to let you know that the Touch HD seems to be shipping all around Europe, shouldn't take long until it will be available everywhere(I assume starting with next week or so).

Ah, thanks a lot! I'm interested in getting it at o2, so I think I'll have to wait till the next week or even the week commencing.. But it'll come for sure this month, thats already great news, because its not such a fiasco as with the X1. Can't wait for the HD... Greez, cad^^

Yeah. 2-3 dead pixels. they stay white all the time.
the 8GB Sd card was not in the package. but i think that this is not you an exclusive, as a german review site who got the device, also had no 8Gb card inside, even if it is written in the manual!!
and when ich switch to camera mode, there is an area of around 2-4 dead pixels which are always white. they are not dead, as it only happens in the camera mode. i think there is a sensor problem. mhmm strange

just came back from the store. I will recieve a new HD In the next days. The shop is called mobilecity.at and has at least 10 units in stock!

it costs 106€ more than in amazon.de. Thanks but I'd rather wait a bit more.

Yes your right, but on the other hand, amazon will have it a month from now. that stool ong for me. not to forget: the store i bought it from had no problem taking it back after i called them and told them about the dead pixels.
and: i got the information that the 8GB card is missing in the series they recieved. and immidiatly got a card from them

Good news: The German (not Austrian version of the HD is shipped in Germany this week. So by next week all major retailers and online retailers should have stock. For the price conscious that might be able to wait just a little bit longer, keep in mind that the o2 branded version lists at only 570 euros w/o contract, 299 with Genion L contract.

Today I received an email from o2 Germany and it seems Touch HD will be released in calender week 47 which would be 17.11. earliest. Just to let you know. No pricing information yet.

But as far as i heard, even the free HD they are selling is branded. meaning you can use it with every sim, but the software has got O2 specific branding. Like O2 Homescreen and more. It may not bne possible to get the normal Touchflow screen without overwriting the rom and thus, losing warranty

Yes, just what I wrote and you quote, "the o2 branded version lists...w/o contract" - I meant SIM-free. And judging from my experience with the o2 Trion (Tytn I), if ever one has a warranty issue just put the o2 WinMobile version back on - as long as you dont hard-spl and super-cid it. I dont mind branding anyway, as long as there is no button tying me to the providers internet offerings. And as Touchflow is concerned, it would surprise me if HTC would allow branding to not include it for the sake of a homescreen.

Where is you information from about o2 branding?

I'm contemplating buying a Touch HD. I don't really want to wait until half way through 2009 until WM 7 comes out, or perhaps even later when it is used.
Would it be possible to upgrade OS when WM7 DOES come out? officially or with a ROM upgrade?

I dont know about official ROM from HTC, but I am sure this community will cook it for ya.

Yeah I would bank on the Touch being able to run it. WinMo hardware changes very slowly so specs wise should fall in line with Win7 and dont even get me started on the amount of times ive seen this community churn out roms for devices you didnt think possible

Looks good then just one more nudge toward the buy.... now I just need to get payed lol

WM7 = Multi Touch OS Vs Touch HD non multi Touch Screen
WM7 is a multi touch enabled OS. The HTC Touch HD does not have a multi touch screen but I am sure we will be able to upgrade using it as we do with WM6.1.
Do you guys have any idea when WM6.5 is due?

Well you would have to replace the screen physically as it has a capacitive screen and not sensitive... "Touch HD Sense" maybe

they say mid 09... they said it for WM7 also

We still have one year to go before seeing WM7 appear, I am sure we can enjoy playing with a Touch HD meanwhile

considering the touch dual was being used with wm7 in the live mesh ad, I'm guessing that wm7 supplies multi-touch drivers for htc's resistive touch screens
don't take my word for it, though. the HD is a big purchase

VAT is "value added tax" it is a tax for goods or services rendered from any establishment within the euro zone and its based on percentage of the total value.For buyers outside EU the VAT is not applicable so the total price should not be inclusive of this tax

Indian ROM version?

Heard that the HD2 went on sale yesterday in India. Can someone post the ROM version and other particulars such as Radio?

TATA Docomo started selling HD2 on 15th. They say that HD2 will be sold exclusively by them for 7 days. However I could see that the phone is already listed in Univercell.

I ordered through online on 15th Dec in Univercell site. They are saying that they are yet to get the stock and not sure when they will get it. On the other hand in chennai many other stores have HD2 ready to be sold. So call up univercell and enquire about the availability before ordering.

By the way i have ordered from a hk website...but its way too costly than in india. It cost my Rs40,000 plus Rs5,000 custom. And in india the rate is expected to be around Rs36,000. So sad. If i've waited just few more days.

Since I buy for my personal purpose, the customs duty was very less.
It came AED10, which is around Rs.130.
And yes. It was through DHL only and the price I have given is including it.

Tata docomo had a lock in period on the HTC HD2 from December 15th to 21st...they have horrible customer service, who would want to buy a phone from them, specially something so expensive!
from tomorrow onwards, the unlocked versions should turning up, have confirmed with a dealer here in Chennai...
only thing is i am wondering if i can push him to lower the price a bit!

Officially, it is the latest ROM available from HTC.

Xperia Z: Releasedate in Germany 21th February

just read it in the news: sony officially announced the releasedate for the xperia z in germany to be the 21th of february. but at this date, only in berlin.
on the 22nd, it'll be available in stores everywhere in germany.
yeaahhh...finally.....looking forward....i'm so exited... :laugh::good:

I ordered it through a danish company that get their phones from Germany ( I live in Norway).
According to them I'm supposed to recieve it 7-9 days from now.
I could have pre ordered it from Norway but they have expected dates of 7th of march, and so far none have offered the purple one.
Although I have no confirmation for this I have a strong feeling the dk26 will be bundled.
Norwegian hands on review shows this, and I've read that people in France, Germany and others also will get this.

Definitely uppie :good:! it's really an awesome device! Love it even more every minute. but maybe i'm the wrong benchmark, because i'm coming from a good old htc hd2 (leo).
i ordered the black one, 'cause i think it's the most elegant and timeless color. the white one looks nice, too, but the black screen on the front...
the purple one is a nice one also, but i'm afraid after a few month i'll be fed up by this color.
i don't regret purchasing this phone. it's just brilliant in my opinion.
