Hi,
have you tried unchecking the option in Activesync?
Sync your phone, go to Tools > Options. Select the computer, click Parameters and there uncheck "sync time....".

in windows device center i didnt find any tools menu neither option menu

I meant on the computer side , sorry.

If you don't find the option, check the Time Zone in both the PC and the PDA, they should be the same since AS will update time according to the Zone in the PDA.

im using windows device center on Vista ! so theres no option in it ...
and i cant do anything !
there must be a registry
any other suggestion ?

Activesync not working on XP SP3

am i the only one that can not make work activesync when using XP SP3?
Help please.
i've been using 4.5 under sp3 without any problems
tell me how
i have no way to make it work.
It sounds when i switch the pda, it also starts detection on activesync, after that it says "could not stablish connection.
Tell me how please.
i ddient do anything after sp3
maybe you should try to delete the patnership and set it up again
you can also try removing anything in pc regedit about activesync and reinstall it
Some anti viruses or firewall programs may also interfere with active synch....check settings and connections in your pc and ppc....you may need to delete and reinstall the program....
Solution
Trying things i've got the solution.
On the PPC, Configuration, Conections, USB to PC, unmark the option --> Enable Advanced Network function.
After that everthing is working, live is wonderful and maybe World peace could happen.
Thanks to everybody that tried a solution.

Cannot synchronize Touch HD with Vista

I got my Touch HD yesterday and I have not been able to sync it with Vista. I get an error on the HD saying there was a problem with repllog.exe. Vista simply tells me that the sync could not be completed.
I checked google for solutions, but I haven't gotten anywhere.
Anyone else having this problem?
I installed Windows Mobile Device Center today. Do I need anything else?
EDIT: My Touch HD is German and my Vista is English. I don't think that plays a role, but I thought I'd mention it in case it does.
Did you solve the problem and how? I have the same problem and I can't find a solution.
Hey
I had that problem too and that your Windows Mobile problem.
Go on your Touch HD to: Start -> Settings -> Connections -> USB to PC -> and check Active Sync (synchronize with Outlook) and clear the checkbox "Enable faster data synchronization" and tap OK in the right screen corner.
You don't have to restart your device.
I think that this should help.
Cheers,
Sz.
i had this problem when trying to sync it to my laptop spent about 5 hours trying to do it in the end i was getting that annoyed with it i was going to smash laptop or phone
i thought id try it on dads computer and synced staright away no problems

I think this is not the solution. This is used when you want to synchronise using Active Sync.

Active Sync problem[Solved]

Hey & thx for reading
Recently i performed an upgrade form the HTC site. I was succesfull (except i had to install everything again )
Now, the problem is that, when i connect the phone to the pc (XP SP3) with the usb cable, it doesnt ask what to do.
I used to get a choice of 3 option: Sync, diskdrive or shared internet.
Now it doesnt ask that and it directly opens the shared internet. I tried adjusting the settings in the "connections" tab but no luck.
Can this issue be resolved? I would like to see the 3 choices again when i connect the phone.
you did tap the tiny 'ask me' box in:
start ->settings -> connections -> usb to pc (al the way down the screen)?

Even if it automatically select "shared internet" it can be disconnected and continue with activesync.

That was my 1st guess. I have checked and unchecked it many times but the result stays the same.

If i close "shared internet", active sync(pc) doesn't connect to the phone and the active sync app on the phone just says "connecting".
Try this

The problem is a bit solved. I unchecked the "choice" boxe, did a soft reset, checked it again and it worked. Active synce asks me what to do again
Now, it works about as good as before. Just need to figure out why Active Sync is open in the taskmanager even when i don't use the phone :/
Thx all for helping (and reading)

How do I stop ActiveSync's autosync?

Hi TP2-ers!
Since using my TP2, ActiveSync continuously syncs it with my PC. When I used AS with my old PDA (QTEK 2020i) I could select manual sync, but this doesn't seem to be possible when connecting a WM6 device.
I tried all the tricks (changing registry entries Continuously Update and Update on docking to 0), the exchange server trick to enable the AS schedule button and setting it to manually, all to no avail...
I know of tools like ActiveSync Toggle, but I do not want to disable AS, I just want to sync manually when I think it's time to sync!
Has anybody out there been able to disable the autosync in AS in combination with the TP2?
Thank you very much for your reply in advance!
Kind regards,
Piet
Open ActiveSync on your phone, then click on MENU on the bottom right, then select SCHEDULE and set both peak and off peak to MANUAL. After that it won't sync unless you go in and sync it yourself.
Connect to PC
What about when the "Connect to PC" screen appears when you plug it in via USB? For a week or so if I didn't touch the phone it would disappear and Internet Sharing would open and automatically connect! it was awesome, but now the ActiveSync bubble is selected and it opens ActiveSync on my PC. Are there any registry values to reset this?
So open ActiveSync on the phone again, select MENU at the bottom right, select CONNECTIONS, and uncheck "Synchronize all PCs using this connection"
=)

Nope, all that does is go directly into the "Disk Drive" option....It used to open Internet Sharing and connect automatically. I even removed my SD card and it just charges the phone.
Have you tried to end the partnership between your phone and your computer from within the ActiveSync software on your computer? That should do it as well.

First, I really appreciate your help...now, let's make sure we are on the same page. I don't have a problem using internet sharing, that works fine. My issue is that I want the internet sharing program to start on my phone automatically whenever I connect to pc.
Oh, hilarious, I've been responding to you assuming you were the person who posted the original post. I've been trying to resolve his issue, not yours. Oops. As for your internet sharing issue, no idea. I use WMWifirouter for my WIFI and wired network sharing, and it works GREAT, though I do have to click the program icon before it fires up.
SUCCESS!!!
ok, so I went into the battery properties and unchecked the "when device is turned on, do not charge the battery when connected to the pc" This reset whatever I was looking for and now when I connect to pc via usb and don't touch anything it automatically starts internet sharing and connects. LOVE IT!!!

The schedule option is grayed-out.
It's also grayed-out on the PC and you can enable it through the old fake server trick, but although it's set to manually, ActiveSync still syncs continously...
Thansk!

No, because I don't want to disable sync, I just want to be able to contol the moment of syncing!

Problem with PC sync

So when I hook my HD2 up to my PC (Windows XP) via USB I select on the screen to active sync but the Windows active sync program on my PC doesn't connect with the device. Instead my PC keeps insisting that the phone is a modem and tries to use it, it installs it as a modem. I can use the phone fine as a storage device, but I cannot get it to sync.
It did it the first time, but not again after that.
To try and remedy the problem I have uninstalled the driver Windows installed then tried reconnecting the phone...but every time it connects as a modem and its getting annoying.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.
No option on your HD2 when connecting to the PC?
Try this:
Open Start -- Settings -- All Settings -- Connections -- USB to PC.
In here you can change it to what you like as default, but there is a tick box at the bottom which stops it being shown etc.
Thanks. In my post I did say that I "select on the screen to active sync", however I didn't specify that it was on the phone that i did this. The pop-up screen you spoke of does appear and I do select the correct option.
Does having outlook help? lol. Don't say yes because then I will look like a total douche. haha. But I did sync once with it like I said, but then my PC decided to hate me.
Active sync problems
I found that ActiveSync behaved different after I upgraded to 1.48 from 1.43 using the ROM update on the HTC website.
Maybe this will help you too:
Go to Settings -> Other (Misc. settings) -> USB to PC
Select "ActiveSync"
There is a checkbox under it "Enable faster data synchronization"
If it is on try deselecting it, as I said with 1.43 I had to disable this, but with 1.48 I had to enable it.
dude
have you xp still or did you upgrade? did you dl the latest active sync from microsoft?
Thanks y'all. I managed to fix it. Don't know exactly how...maybe my computer was being a *****.
Thanks for your replies anyway.
I'm also having the same problem.
Hey!
I was wondering if you could help. l'm having the same problem. did you manage to work pit what you did to get it working? without it I will not be able to update the ROM.
thanks in advance.

Haven''t find the solution yet and started to use my laptop to install programs and sync via microfsoft myphone, but still I am very interesseted in a solution for what seems to be a compatibility problem between HD2 and Windows XP. Anyone can help?

Select "ActiveSync"
There is a checkbox under it "Enable faster data synchronization"
