[New release] VistaHide Battery Gauge 1.1.1

VistaHide Battery Gauge 1.1.1
- Default height is now 3 pixels instead of 4. I just find it nicer that way
- Added missing code needed to handle correctly screen rotation, and it is now working in version 1.1.1.
- Implemented code to make it work with the Smartphone edition. It is partly working. The bar appears at the top on every screen, except the home screen (in the emulator at least). Of course, if this is not a bug in the emulator, this makes it nearly useless (I think). Ideas anyone ?
If anyone uses this on a Smartphone, again, please report if it works as emulated.

EDIT: I feel kinda dumb now. I found out that you can rotate the screen in the Settings -> Screen panel. Duh! I could now actually test it, and found the bug. Sorry!

So this battery bar acts just like the battery bar from SPB Pocket Plus??
Running the exe file on my device will put the battery meter at the top of the screen? and if thats the case, for it to run when the device starts up, that means i would have to put a shortcut to it in the startup folder?

1. this program won't be able to be closed once launched. If it is launched when it is running, it will close the display, but the process still remains in memory.
2. Using task manager to close the process will kill the devices completely, only resetting can recover it.

Also, how much memory does it use when you viewed it in the task manager?

soft reset.
task manager can't tell the memory consuming well. I found 23 copies in task manager v2.7 when I was trying to edit the colores of the bar.

Will there be any updates for this app? Like being able to close it once launched.

Just discovered this and it is very nice! It has now replaced the original (LVMTopBat) on my phone. I do like that it stretches full screen, which is one thing I wished LVMTopBat had. Good work!

great find! i was hoping this would show up when i first saw the video. I got it loaded and it's pretty nice to work with. One question so far....where is the comm manager located on the 8525. Im trying to find the path so i can link the settings button to it but i cannot find it. Thanks!
Edit: This is a little bigger issue for me, my clock on the device it self it correct but in the iphone launcher app it is 4 hours ahead. How and hell do i fix this? Any help is appreciated

Connected the phone via activesync and copied the file to my pc. Then I can edit with notepad by right click - open with etc. If that's not working for you drag the file and drop it onto a notepad icon

i have some problem with the clock i see only 0 0 in my main screen and when i tap it to lock the screen i see nothing ....maybe it'a beacuse i have hebrow installed in my pocketpc what should i do?
and another quick qustion can i make the screen automticly lock it self after a few min that i didn't used it?

That's the same for me, "0 0" instead of the time on the clock, but the locking works when tapping on it... any idea?

I do not know how to do that, but I managed to map hardware button to slide.exe. To do that you have to create a link to it (for example to programs folder). Then you can map this link via Settings >> Buttons. Only issue I am having is that the time is lagging two hours on Slider screen.

Very nice find! Like many other my only problem is with the slide unlock the time is off by 5 hours and the date is 1 day ahead. If anyone finds away to fix this please post, thanks I will continue to play around with it and see what i can come up with..........

tried it on wm6 slvw version and get "installation of iphone slider for wm5.cab was unsuccessful. the installation file is not intended for this device.

Just a guess - I don't have the application installed and haven't had that program but your phone has to clock settings Home -> Visting. Maybe your phone is accidentally set to Visiting clock and the home clock is off by a bit and the applications are pulling the time from the Home clock? It's a shot in the dark guess but worth a shot!

Thanks for the reply that was actually the first thing that i checked when i noticed the problem

Best guess I can give is that the time isn't being adjusted for time zone. Mine is 5 hours ahead and I am in US Central time zone (GMT -6) so it is close to Greenwich mean time.
I would try to fix this myself since the source is provided but I need a developers kit and a compiler...

Actually if I remember correctly (big IF) daylight savings time is a US thing so with DST right now that would put the offset right at GMT.

Latest version 1.0.2 Supports wallpaper switching too! and better file browser has been implemented.
Here is the theme/wallpaper switcher application I built to switch themes (*.tsk) and wallpaper (*.jpg,*.gif) based on the schedules you setup. i.e, Automatically loads the theme/wallpaper you specified at scheduled time.
I am using day, evening and night themes to reflect on my HTC today screen.
Supports command line execution

To enable the application--> \program files\rk-TSR\rk-TSR.exe enable
To disable the application--> \program files\rk-TSR\rk-TSR.exe disable
To load the theme--> \program files\rk-TSR\rk-TSR.exe “\storage card\rkAzulBlue.tsk”
To load the wallpaper--> \program files\rk-TSR\rk-TSR.exe “\storage card\MyWallpaper.jpg”
(To load the theme from command line the theme must be configured and listed in rk-TSR, but wallpaper would load without being listed in the application.)
Looks cool with the HTC weather icons!
Install and configure schedule for each theme
Also included my themes(You can use your own themes)
It will work on WM5 and WM6.
Does not write anything to registry and not memory resident (not a background process)

You need compact framework 2.0 installed inorder to run this application. The compact framework is already part of WM6, so if your device is WM6 skip this step. But most of the WM5 devices do not have this update. So you must download here and run the installation on your desktop (then active sync to update your device). Copy the *.tsk files to any directory(do not copy to \windows directory.)
You can put the tsk file on storage card or under \my documents. Now when you click 'add' button on the rk-TSR you it should show up. But when you click the 'add' button you have to make sure that the theme you are adding must be already loaded.
To load the themes go to Start\Settings\Today

It can be custumized any way.... eg.
You can setup 22:00 to load the night theme(or any theme you like) and setup 06:00 Day theme, may be 15:00 to load the olive theme.
Bascially you are telling the program to load a theme for you at a time specified by you.

I use a program called 'Theme Generator for Windows CE' Its very nice program but the UI is really bad and very confusing as to 'what is what'

When the theme changes at the scheduled time, all elements of the theme change except for the background image. Works fine when I manually use the 'test' option.
Also, its a real pain to have to load up the theme before being able to set it. Also would be nice to beable to edit an existing entry (i.e. change the time and/or theme).
Looking good - and it could evolve into a great little utility.

Are you using a theme and some background picture? Try themes only and see if it happens(Try the themes i posted and test it) I have been using only themes on my TyTn and never experienced any issues so far. Let me know what happens in your test.

Yeah, I know the theme loading is kind of a pain, but I need some additioal info from the theme in order to load it silently! So only when the theme is loaded I can get it from the registry and store it in my program!
Yes being able to edit the time and swich existing themes should be a nice feature! I will do it for next version

FAQ ( Please Read)
Q. It crashes because of xxxxx
A. First try copying and running the files from system memory as some devices (HTC Touch) have issues resuming from standby with program running from the storage card. If the program still fails - edit the config.XML and select YES for errorreporting - then run the program - when it crashes post the errorreport text file here and I can try and help you.
Q. Why is there nothing on the calendar or music or blah blah page?
A. Because the app isnt finished yet - as clearly stated above! - more is being added
Q. What version of WM do I need?
A. 6.x - it does not work on WM5 or below
Q. How do I install it?
A. You dont! - simply copy all files to a folder on the device and run the EXE - that's it - no install - no uninstall - nothing changed on the device - no registry entries required.
Q. What is the default unlock sequence
A. 1 single guesture - ^ (you can change this on config.xml)
Q. Can I change stuff?
A. Yes - everything! - the landscape.xml and portrait.xml contain all the positions for the icons and layouts for the skin, while config.xml contains details about non-skin related options
Q. What Compact Framework do I need?
A. You need either 2.0 or better still 3.5 - unfortunately some custom rom cookers have not fully incorporated CF into their build and this may cause you problems - not just with my app but anything that uses CF. My only suggestion here is to try an updated (or different) base rom! - it works perfect with all the WWE builds with CF installed - so I know it's the rom

Current Functionality of Highway theme:
Home tab is about 90% finished. There will be some modification in the future like: Tower when press to open comm manager or WiFi. When press signal meter it opens default comm window. When press sun it will open weather. When press clock will open alarm.
The contacts tab is currently empty but has been tested and will have a very smooth scrolling contact list.
The settings tab currently is only for program exit, future additions on this page.
The Big red power button is the Program launcher and is on all tabs. When you open the launcher just scroll and tap firmly in a straight up and down motion. To go back to the main screen gesture from right to left
Volume, still in development but to see how it works click on the speaker icon, then gesture up and down to change volume. Note Vibrate not functional yet. Gesture right to left to exit volume.
For email you may have to edit the Portrait.xml to define your email account. Mine is set to Hotmail. If you need help let me know.
Vmail indicator does not seem to be working. This is one reason for me to release this now as I need help testing on the I780. It seems to be working on other devices.

For future expansion, you can consider installing an ICU (in-car unit) that will call out the player (s2p, mortplayer, HTC AM, WMP, etc..)
Once this is completed, it will be an awesome theme!!

First you are using omnia i900 right? With the monday morning the correct? Is it the same in landscape? And is the calender and contact page ok?

Worked on this during the summer, mostly because i wanted to read the books myself
Regarding the VGA version,
Had problems with dynamically calculating the height of each page as the VGA device i tried the app on played tricks on the font size... 12 px font height, as an example, means nothing anymore since WM tries to compensate by resizing the fonts at runtime...
I think i solved it by adding a feature in the exe file that does the text box calculation. Have not had time to try it out though.

I've tried to load the VGA version here's what I did:
1. Copied HPL directory to storage card\program files
2. executed Gslide_install.exe
3. executed HPL_Install.exe
4. copied font to windows\fonts
5. executed HPL.exe
6. Face of satan worshipper shows
7. tap screen, hear music, white screen with top bar half trimmed off.
8. Can't do anything except minimise or close.
Context: HTC Touch Pro, EnergyROM Aurora, WM6.5.
Please help! I'm keen to fully understand Cthulu and how I can open a stargate through sexual magic!

Regarding the frozen white screen, this is supposed to last like 5 seconds. After this your supposed to see the library.
Try bringing up you keyboard an press space, just in case the pause mode toggle has messed up. The symbol means that the app is in pause mode.

Nice. Good way to introduce people to GSlide too.
Installed on Sprint Touch Pro (VGA, CDMA) -- working fine to load app, book, chapter, and for scrolling up and down, but I cannot seem to get it to change pages with a gesture, and have tried every variation on 'swipe or 'flick' or that I could come up with. Any thoughts?

Unsure so far about the sweep problems...
D-Pad left/right is mapped to paging as well if you have it. So is the keyboards left/right keys.

6. Face of satan worshipper shows
7. tap screen, hear music, white screen with top bar half trimmed off.
8. Can't do anything except minimise or close.

same for me. I'm running MightyROM6 on a TP. I hit the space bar on my keyboard but didn't change anything. When I executed HPL.exe, I could only see "Pocket Collection" and part of the "The HP Lovecraft"; when I executed GSlide.exe, I could see the whoe top banner correctly. Thanks for trying to get this working for VGA!

Drop this in your /HPL/GSlide/ folder.

Running the GSlide.exe in the HPL/GSlide folder works as well. The HPL.exe was made to get a nice splash and a custom icon.
Will fix the splash bug tomorrow

for VGA, only lets me close or minimize; nothing to choose from or view.

Hi,
If you dont get the library on start-up use this context.xml file in the HPL/GSlide/Context/Default folder.
This just adds a new menu item which lets you reload the library.
