lock + standby in one go?

Hi all,
I was wondering if it's possible to lock the device and put the phone in standby in one go?
Often when you lock your phone you don't need it anymore and putting it in standby immediatly might save some precious battery juice...
Cheers
B
or for example when in standby, when receiving a message .. the phone wakes it self up .. if you have to leave it in yur pocket, it means that you can touch the touch screen unwillingly.
So yes, I want to be able to lock my phone and put in into standy mode at the same time ;D

Hi twolf,
that thread has 32 pages, can you point me a bit closer to the standby thing? Thx!
cheers
B
just th first, its a software...
:/
quite aware of that but I don't want to alter my slider behaviour... maybe I'll send a message to the creator of the soft to see how he has added this functionality to his app.
cheers

Why not use key lock that's on the device already - put it into to standby and it locks the keys but wakes up on calls & messages.
Start - Setteings - Key Lock - Lock allbuttons except Power Button
well.. the normal keylock doesn't switch the mobile into standby, you need to wait a while before the auto-standby kicks in... and I really don't find the standby button convenient to press
I have the same problem
Another solution?
My standby buton don´t work
Use Slide2Unlock, you can tell it to lock the phone when it goes to standby
Thanks, but, the Slide2Unlock don´t power on my PDA.
the Standby botton, is the power on/off.
best regards

help plzz HTC touch elf keep shuting down

Lock all buttons

Well i just got an HD2 (love it btw) im successfully running Hyperdroid no problems what so ever . However i have a bug i need fixed , when the device goes into standby , ALL HARDWARE BUTTONS REWAKE THE SCREEN (excluding volume) is there a way to LOCK ALL HARDWARE BUTTONS EXCEPT for the volume up ? For instance , i reply to a text , press "end key" to suspend device , device is in standby and all buttons (green phone, home, menu, back, red end key) are DISABLED and the only way to wake the device up is by pressing the Volume Up key . I like this idea because there is no designated power button , and when the device is in my pocket , the buttons get pressed and it SERIOUSLY drains the power (i noticed in my logcat this was happening) and since the volume buttons are on the side they are less likely to be pressed . However, once volume button is pressed to wake the device i want the volume buttons to go back to normal . I hope this is possible .
Well, it's not exactly what you wanted.
But you could use Tasker and tell it to turn the screen off again if it's upside-down (in your pocket) and/or if something is in front of the proximity sensor(in your pocket/bag/purse). you could also specify it so that these events won't lock your phone again when it's awake for over 3 seconds or so
I could help you with this if you don't understand how to set it up.
This would partially solve your problem, but there is a small delay between recognizing the events and the action taken so it would stay on for about a second and then shut it off again.
Tell me what you think about it.

I found a similar program . Forget what it was , i mean i guess that could work but its still not gonna keep the screen from coming on when the buttons get pressed . Which , with having front facing buttons , will happen a lot . I'll try the program and check my logcats for device wake. Also , how hard is it to develop in android ? ive written many C# programs for my computer and a couple simple ones ror Windows Mobile . Would i pick up android programing easily ?
Bump ? Really would like some INFO
Yet , ANOTHER bum smh -.- anybody ???
I have no idea to your actual question, but I would like to know the answer as well!
Hi there,
As far as I know programming is 10% grammatical and 90% knowledge of the vocabulary
If you know how to program, you should. Pick. It up easily.
You could follow some tutorials. On. YouTube to get yourself started, although. Most of them. Are really basic.
Start by googling for android sdk. And eclipse you'll need those programs to. Start programming

Sgs4 kitkat dialer fix//workaround

Recently I just found out how to fix my girl friends dialer, I had the hardest time finding any info that could help me solve the problem.
Everytime she would try to make a phone call and have to push any button on the dialpad her phone would either lock up and not allow her to push any buttons or the screen would turn off until the call had ended.
After research I realized was from this double tap feature that samsung used to stop you from hitting dialpad with your ear or in your pocket...
Anyway this is how I fixed it
1- first you need developer option.. By clicking your build number, in about phone 7 times, when u back out you will see the menu.. Half way down the page you will find ANIMATION DURATION SET THIS TO ---- .0. ----
2 change lockscreen setting to tapping lock button... Instead of swipe..
3 . making sure anything to do with gestures while in call are turned off.. In accessiblity . when window pops up about some voice whatever... Cancel it ... And in accessibility turn off power button ends call. Also if you have custom ROM with active display u will find more to do with this. U want to make sure pocket mode and anything to do with it has been turned off.
4. If your phone is rooted lastly I deleted- voice dialer
Doing this solved my girlfriends problems for the time being. In the past, just kept coming back so I pray
Please let me know if thus worked for or has helped you.
thanks...

Hi Galaxy ,screenwakeup and OK Google.......how to

Hi ,
This method i am currently using to wake my phone without pressing power button !!
( plus , if you want to carry on to use OK Google. commands )
Maybe similar to LG knock to wake ????
Firstly ,i know this method is similar to S voice wake up etc , etc but with a twist .?
I have disabled S voice in my Application manager (but "voice wake up " is not ,and app is running in App manager )
I also have a swipe lock screen to unlock activated ( im sure no lock screen will also work .)
If device is in sleep mode i issue similar command ( than S voice ).....
." Hi Galaxy " the phone will wake up ( no S voice activating ,as disabled )
I can then again issue another command OK Google ........etc if i want to !
The reason i follow this routine is firstly,
i don't need to press power button each time
especially, if i just want to check info on my lock screen etc ..
I also found that my OK Google ,
does not activated when in sleep mode ,but if phone is awake OK Google works fine .
Yes, OK Google used to ,but im sure Google has disabled it as it was disabled ( always listening )
on pc/laptop You have to press mic button to activate.
I have tested battery usage overnight ( re battery drain )
and found it had no impact on my nightly /sleep battery drain .
This info for any member interested in using this method to wake his device .
Please note,
obviously if you are in noisy environment ,this method is not going to work
good luck to all .
guys, may try download "wakeup touch Nexus" from play store. use proximity sensor to wake the phone simple and easy.
No offence OP but I don't quite understand that. Might want to simplify it a bit?

hi ,
sorry ,if its confusing, i will try .
ok, if you want to wake up your device................( its in sleep mode )
eg... check info on lock screen .?,
check the clock alarm
anything or just go to the home screen ?
What do you do ...?
You press the power button to wake .?
Yes ( normal action )
Ok , in my case,
what i do , to wake my device...... Note5 ( stock ROM, no root )
is by just saying /issue a command "Hi Galaxy "
My screen will wake up ( and no S Voice activating etc. etc )
and i can then proceed with "whatever" check lock screen info or go to home page .
( no power button press , involved )
Above is similar when you want to activate S Voice, but just after configuring S Voice ( Configuring your voice ,Hi GALAXY ETC )and when S Voice is activated , it will obviously trigger the Voice wake up app and then reboot your device . I then disabled only S Voice app ,in Phone/Settings /Application manager .Just make sure your your other depended app /process
"Voice wake up" is running or not disable in your Application manager .( see screenshot )
That's it ,to me this method is similar to Lg "knock ,to wake " etc .and others ?
A voice command surely, is a bit easier than a action/gesture ?
Real life situation .......
So you can sit in a chair ,with your phone lying next to you on table and just say "Hi Galaxy" ,
your phone will light up ( no S Voice irritating you by activating itself ..disabled )
You can glance at info ,to read notification ,time, etc or just pick device up and proceed .
I have configured my device to wake up in this way for a couple of days now .
I have observed the following ....
99% of time it lights up /wakes up ( no button press )
No extra battery drainage noticed .
I even tested it in quite noisy surroundings ,works fine (most of times )
I used it next to my vehicle ,with engine revving quite loudly ).
I still press power button now and then by accident, but above method is very convenient .
hope you followed above .
good luck
