What Today Plugin is this?!?

Check out this link for TMobile's Official WinMobile6 release. On the today screen there is an awesome looking media player plugin and I was wondering what plugin is that and where do I get it?

seems to be not for us, not for WM5/6 PRO.

Looks nice. If smartphone can use it, PDA phone can use it.. I think. Wait til someone rip it off.. doesnt seems like anything I've known. AFAIK, there are two media player plugin for Today screen.. both has some problems.. like one of them are not sync with the media player.. and another one... ... can't remember. One of them is from SPB or SHxx .. one is free ware, but they don't look like what youve shown.

I'm pretty sure that I saw a plug in like the one showed while searching for a dialpad for the TyTN...but I'm realy sorry I don't remember where...
It was a today plug in that controls the WM player...it display the title of the song and some control buttons too.
If I find the place will report back to you...

Has anyone tested this on a hermes with WM6? I cant get it to show on my today screen no matter what i do. also there is no option to remove it after installing it. Any help would be cool since im in the dark on this one folks..

I do not think it works for wm6

do u mean i wm6 dash rom version or the version in my post? the one in my post is tested on a cingular 8525 running black 2.5 cingular and works no prob.

SPB has a similar plug in. its called, "Spb Pocket Plus Plugin - ToPlay -WMP 10 Controller"

hmm.. well the ToPlay -WMP 10 Controller hasnt ever worked on my hermes..
it just crashes on boot, and the whole SPB app. stops working.. havent done anything about it thou.. it doesnt really bother me.. since i can just minimize the media player and bring it up again..
does anyone else have this problem?

PocketMusic includes a similar Today plugin. Not sure though if you get the plugin with the free version. I bought the commercial version.

Kinoma Play

Trying Kinoma Freeplay now (warning - link goes straight to download page - the Freeplay page itself seems to not be accessible...).
It gives an initial warning saying "... has not yet been fully tested on this phone (HTC Touch Diamond P3700). Press OK to continue."
Then get a Windows error (offering to send a report to MS).
... The End.
Looks nice, obviously not working on Touch Diamond yet.

I just installed free play and it works fantastic! Almost sure that i'm gonna buy it if they get support for Diamond or Touch Pro (my next phone, hopefully).
Anyway. Kinoma has got a great finger touch interface. The only annoyances i found so far are that it's scans all folders on startup which can take a while. You cannot specify your custom folders. Also when viewing images it shows all in one list instead of per folder.
Hopefully it will word for diamond soon!

Tried it, doesn't work for Diamond (yet). Hopefully they'll update it for the Diamond, seems to be a nice product!

Working like a dream on HTC S710 (WM6 Standard)... It's the best media player for wm ever imo, now coreplayer feels old.

Touch HD, first impressions

So indeed the UK model is available in the Netherlands, just got mine.
My first impressions:
- The device actually feels smaller than I thought, feels only slightly heavier than my Diamond and much lighter than my Pro.
- The screen sensitivity for my finger is great, however it seems that I have to press harder with the stylus than on my Diamond.
- I cannot prevent touchflo 3D from installing, softresetting before customisation brings the device back in setup mode.
- The screen and the size of the buttons are great for finger usage.
- The device is faster than my Diamond and Pro, Touchflo 3D is really improved in terms of speed, however there is a lag when using the file explorer I didn't had on my previous devices.
- I really like the small led in the power button, indicating charching, bluetooth, etc. No more irritating charching lights from the action button when the device is next to my bed.
- All software I installed on my Diamond works on my HD (Spb products, Mobipocket, Pocketbreeze.)
- Did not test the GPS
- There is a soft bag for protection of the HD. The good is that it doesn't make the device much thicker. The bad is that it will not provide much protection (but it is included!!)
- The device comes with a 8GB microSD card (Sandisk.)
- The HD can be used in the HTC cradle, but without the special inlays, so a bit risky for the connector.
- No video-out (not in settings.)
- The full QWERTY on screen keyboard is better than on my Diamond, but still small and not as responsive to touch as I would want (I am used to my Iphone ;-))
Overall I think it is one of the best devices I have had for the last two years (a bit early to tell, but... first impression)

Can you tell us how vga apps work? Do they get stretched to fill the screen or are there black bars on top and bottom. I am talking about apps with no WVGA support.

please oh please try to play a divx movie thats perhaps the only thing that will make me sell my diamond i was used to see movies on my x7500 diamond sucks on plaaying video

yeah please try coreplayer/tcpmp with divx/xvid movies tell us the results!!
also if possible try some H264 (mp4 AVC) encoded videos
try resolutions around 640x360!

All apps I tried so far just scale to fill the screen.
It looks great!
The apps even look better than on my X7500!
After tweaking some performance settings and after installing 10 apps, this baby is fast!!!
Everything is almost instantanously, never seen this on a HTC device before (and I have had a lot ;-))

if you tell me it plays divx flawlessly ill put my diamond for sale right now hehehe

Any comments about audio quality through the 3.5mm plug. Also does the cradle have audio out (through usb of the device)?

The audio quality through the headset is great, its roughly the same as the Diamond, good bass, etc.
No sound through USB though, so no music through the cradle.
Looks great in the cradle though ;-)

OK, good news,
TomTom navigator 7 is working perfectly.
Better, no GPS lag (inside, because it is raining terribly here).
And look at Mobile Shell
This really is HTC's best device in years!!!

How does the sound compare with your iphone?
That cradle is huge, does it come with the package?
You have really kept up with all the PPC since the black and white days! Do you keep all of them or have you sold and upgraded throught he decade?

To be honest, the sound of both the Diamond and HD is much better than the sound of my Iphone, the sound is....more alive, more bass, etc.
I really like my Iphone and used it together with my Diamond for more than 3 months, and last month I mentioned that I was only using my Iphone. It is so much easier to use and the screen is really great.
But beside the UI, I think the HD beats the Iphone in a lot of aspects.
You have to buy the cradle seperately, it is a bit huge, yes.
I think I am an addict..... I kept some, not all, I am not that rich ;-))

I can't seem to make tomtom 7 working though. Wich cab did you use? I get the error message that it is not compatible with my device.

It was to good to be true...
I found a bug; the rollout menu's (don't know how to call it) do not work on non standard programs.
I had this bug also on my Samsung i780 with a 320x320 pixel screen.
You can select the different items using the keyboard though.
Look at the screenshot to see what I mean; I selected the main window menu.

There is a special version, taken from the Diamond.
Use google and you willl find it ;-))

[GAME] Collapse Chaos- Another Block game from AT&T

Collapse Chaos​This came from dumped Topaz ROM and should resize itself to most resolutions(see below for confirmation). Works great on VGA Raphael(Fuze). I had a whole thing typed up about the game, but it got lost when I tried to upload. It is a game like Tetris/Bubblebraker which you have to touch similar colors to clear the stage. There are several types of gameplay as well as "Quest" and "Free Play" modes. Unlock more by playing quest Attatching a few screens. I suggerst you try this game If you find where game data is saved I willl add a backup feature in my Flashback scriipt(see sig).
I will remove the cab at request of AT&T or software developer if there are any copyright issues​
Tested Devices
(Report if it is working, stock ROM, Cooked ROM, any details)
Tested and working on Fuze.
Tested on TP2 some working, some not. May be a ROM issue?
Does not resize well on QVGA devices, but can be played if you dont mind the resizing issues.

Refuses to work on my HTC Diamond with 2.03 stock rom, all that happens when I click on the icon is that the screen flashes for about 0.5 second.
I've restarted my device and tried again without any luck...

Thanks for reporting. Lets see any other Diamond users have same issue. Thats too bad you couldnt try it out If it works on other Diamond then could potentially fix it

Orange UK Diamond Working Fine
Great little game, nice find dude!
Working great on my Orange UK Diamond (1.93.405.1 WWE).
Oddly isn't resizing correctly on my GF's Omnia - graphics all chunky, edges and tops of screen missing etc.

But the resolution is definitely off. I can only see part of the screen (part of the black area in the center actually), as if it zoomed on the middle. So the blocks on the periphery are not visible and the bottom row is almost completly cut off (I'm talking about the row of blocks before the horizontal line). The score on top is not visible during the game either.
The pixels are also kinda large. I think it tries to display for a VGA screen.
Oddly enough, I can still play the game and reach level 10.
And the link to the menu is superimposed to the bottom row of blocks.

on my touch hd the resolution is off a bit but the rest works fine, miri 2.5 rev 7.1

Same error on my Diamond with the latest Gen.Y ROM

does not work for me either. just flashes by, and then kills itself. no error or nothing.

[APP] Q-Mobile Midomi 1.6.57 (BEATS Shazam MusicID)

Hi, this is the famous Samsung Midomi music identification application for the Windows Mobile devices! You're probably wondering why I've re?!? posted this. Then again, those of you who know me know I don't just repackage and repost things. And you're right, I didn't.
I loved the one I found posted by Ikkari but it had two problems. The first was the fact that the default internet connection was via WAP, for which Ikkari posted a registry solution to and shiranmotha repackaged and posted. So credit to both of these people for providing the packages they did.
Unfortunately that left one annoying (and ultimately grating) issue for someone like myself. The menu didn't work. In fact if you accidentally clicked it, the whole program froze. Well, not anymore. As a sidenote, I also made this install under program files (either on the device or the storage card as you so choose) because I personally don't think something like this belongs in the \Windows directory And even though the menu is fully functional and you can choose ANY connection you desire I did default it to use the device's Internet (GSM/CDMA) connection.

You are a legend, looking forward to checking out the menu of this. I though the development of this was forgotten once it was made to work.
The app itself is golden on a TP2, i tested a previous version with a success rate of 10 out of 11 (not bad!).
I have tried it in several stores to id a song playing and it worked every time - awesome and real handy...!
Be mindfull of the additional lyric look-up as this can kick your data use in the pants real fast. I ran a test on lyrics for a Bowie song and checked my provider's stats, i was surprised to see a use of over 3mb....
But for pure song ID it is a star!
Now all we need ported is Samsungs 3d audio processor app, this is apparently better than SRS WOW HD (which is great, but sadly does not work on a TP2 - makes your phone go into fatal standby....)

I've successfully installed it but haven't yet played around with it much on my Wizard (QVGA). Visually its working perfectly. Have to test it with a couple songs to see how it compares to MusicID.

Good: Visually, everything fits and looks great.
Bad: Does not recognize anything. Set to internet connection, I can see the data arrows (showing that it is connecting) but the end result is no songs found. Why? Beats me...

I would like to know if there is a registry edit that can make it open the default htc youtube application on the phone also? That would be perfect instead of going through internet explorer.
