(athe400) how to increase the volume of the bluetooth headset - Advantage X7500, MDA Ameo General

hi there,
did some searches, read some wiki and didn't find anything. tried on a french forum but doesn't look like they have the solution. the level is so weak that I can't use my stereo htc headset with a senheiser intraauricular headphone outdoor just to get some phone calls!!
the only thing I did was to edit the SetAcousticParam??.csv files.
and set all the value of the codecRxGain line and rxVolume to 4000.
but to no results!
quite desparate!

i just turn up the dial on my BT headset, it is loud and clear
seems like your headset is poor quality.
i use:
Jabra BT8010
Sony DS970
Moto HT820
they all good with their normal out of the box volume level
in noisy environment, i just crank it up, but usually i leave it on default "mid" volume

I use the htc headset to get the stereo and the ability to choose my earphone: seinheiser intraauricular.

Set as Hands Free

I'm somewhat puzzled about the terms Headset and Hands-free.
There is an option to set my BT headset as hands-free, but I have no idea what that does.
My BT headset (airoblue) is supposed to have an mp3 interface, but when I play an mp3, the sound comes out of the speaker.
I would like to hear all sound to go through my BT headset.
So there are 2 questions in the latter:
1. What is the difference between Headset and Handsfree?
2. Is it possible to have all sound go through my BT headset?
any ideas?
I can answer the first one.
Headset is pretty straightfoward...plug in your headset, use your bluetooth, etc
Handsfree is kind of like speakerphone I guess. No headset or accessories required, the sound is played thru the phone's main speaker instead of the earpiece, so that you can sit the phone on the desk in front of you and hold a conversation. (I haven't used this feature on my mini yet tho, so no idea how well it works and I *think* you activate this mode by holding down the green answer button onc the call has been answered).
I think you misunderstood the question bleepy. The latest Radio Stack of the Magician seems to implement the Handsfree Profile for bluetooth in addition to the Headset profile. The difference between these two is, that Handsfree has some additional capabilities compared to Headset. I think it allows voice dialing as well as initiating calls by the headset (therefore: Handsfree!). It is not meant for audio transmission and i doubt that the WaveOut of the Magician is linked to the bluetooth profile. That's what the A2DP profile is there for. This is not included in the Microsoft stack and i think currently also not available from third party developers. So I think you should forget about the audio streaming over the headset, also because the audio quality should be really bad since the handsfree profile wasn't developed for music streaming.
Thanks for the clear explanation.
I hoped there was a way, because it is nice to watch a movie or something in the plane, or bus.
Guess I'm stuck with the wired headset.

A2DP High Frequency Noise

Does anybody find that when listening MP3 through Bluetooth stereo headset, there is high frequency noise follows every voice of the song, however this high frequency noise does not appear when slience. I am using PocketMusic 4.2.6 and using Nokia HS-12W Bluetooth Headset, I heard some other Atom users' iTech R35 and other Bluetooth Headsets also have this problem.
turn off equalizer
Both equalizers of PocketMusic and Atom have been turned off, however the noise is still existing.
I've got the same poroblem, but I'm using a wizard/8125 with Globesat bth-820.
I also got the same problems with a K-Jam and a Motorola HT820.
I guess it is a problem with A2DP and some headsets.
And maybe it's the cause that the patch isn't officially released: They are afraid of the support towards their clients.
It doesn't bother me very much.
I tried
1. i-Tech S35
2. Gobalsat BT-830
3. Nokia HS-12W
with equalizer off (on/off don't have any effect) using WM10, TCPMP. High frequency noise apeears all the time when listening to music. See the following thread as well:

I followed the instruction from this post to change the registry
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=54621
almost 99% high frequency noise has been eliminated. Go ahead to try it.

XDA Neo (JAMin ROM) and Plantronics 590A,perfect combination

Just bought Plantronics 590A bluetooth stereo headset, and tried it out with my prophet (XDA Neo with JAMin WWE 2.13 ROM). I would say it is really a perfect combination.
I have tried HT820, and also another one from Creative (I can not remember the name), but for those two, the sound quality is really bad!!!!! Espcially for HT820, you can clearly know that you are wearing a wireless headset, since the sound quality is way much worse than wired headset! I do not understand why so many people are still use HT820, anyway it was really terrible. So, I sold both my HT820 and Creative one on eBay, and started searching for better quality headsets. I found many reviews on Plantronics 590A, and all of them compared the 590A with HT820, and concluded that 590A is way much better than HT820 in terms of sound quality. So, I finally decided to give 590A a try.
It is really a perfect match to my Prophet. The sound quality is superb. You would never notice you are wearing a wireless headset through A2DP. The sound quality is even better than many wired headsets on the market. Anyway, the 590A is the best bluetooth stereo headset I have ever tested. All the buttons worked perfect, forward, and back button worked perfectly. Play and pause worked perfectly, too. When a call comes in, it automatically switched from stereo music mode to handfree mode (during the call, it is still stereo, but the sound quality in handfree mode is not as good as in stereo music mode. But you can hear crystal clear voice in handfree mode from both ear phones). Anyway, everything is perfect! I strongly recommend the 590A.
Also, a universal bluetooth adaptor is included (3.5mm). I used it to listen music from my laptop. It is wonderful. But you know, since I used the 3.5mm adaptor for bluetooth, the forward and back button of the headset is not working. That is normal. I can not blame it. Again, the sound quality is superb, and the signal from the bluetooth adaptor is amazingly strong. I can listen music from downstairs, upstairs, 2 or 3 rooms away without losing any signal and sound quality.
The only problem I found is that after I used the headset to listen music from laptop through the included bluetooth adaptor, if I want to switch to my prophet, I have to turn off the headset and turn it on again, otherwise, the headset will not automatically switch from one device to another device. I am not very sure it is really true, or I did not set it right.

Low speaker volume using THB Take&Talk handsfree

Hi there,
When using the Bluetooth take and talk handsfree kit, the speaker volume coming through the car speakers is really quite low, and adjusting the volume on the car stereo does not have any effect. Does anyone know of where you would increase that volume? Call volume is fine without the handsfree kit.
Thanks,
Anyone have any ideas? Is it a common problem with the wizard and the take and talk universal cradle? The speaker volume is fine when using a Parrot 3100.

Shjena! my BT does have volume control, however I will date to try this soft to gain BT settings
Thx
I have a chinese bluetooth rearview mirror without digital volume control (only an analog knob like a fm radio volume one), and the output volume was extremely low with my new hd2 (with a nokia n97 was perfect).
Tried to modify registry settings without any results.
Then I discovered that disabling "single volume" for ringtone/system in settings i was able to raise the conversation volume using the hardware volume button on the left of hd2. Now i'm totally satisfied with the output power.
you might set the volume with the volume keys on the phone when connected to headset.
