I normally have a external mouse for my laptop, but today, I did not have it. But, I did have my Diamond next to my laptop.
That made me wonder.., can diamond act like a basic bluetooth mouse (using the accelerometer) --- the buttons can be on the display (touch)?
Is there a WM App which already does this? ?
Probably not with accelerometer as phone would have to be lifted and would not be easy to use but with touchscreen yes but that wud just be like the touchpad
Ofcource it can, like wii-remotes.
I see them do that with N95's so our beloved Diamond should be capable of it just as easy

I have the tytn 2 ppc, a while ago i learnt how to operate and control sky plus recordings though wm6, sony sky software and a little java thown in for good measure! problem now is i have the touch hd. i tried to install the sony software i use on the tytn but with no luck, the tytn version would only work using the pull down keyboard but i need to operate it using the onscreen one. can anyone sugest other sky software i should try?
I'm interested in this too. I can programme my Sky+ box from my Hermes and would want to be able to do it if I get an HD.
Anyone?
BUMP - this would be a killer feature for me

Thanks Colin, I have been looking for this before....
To you this software works?
http://www.virtualspaghetti.com/index.php?index=31&language=en
Would like to know also, the thought of such a large screen and scribbling notes... I think this would swing me to the HD over from the Pro!
I don't know this software yet, but you answered your own question by posting the link.
Look at http://www.virtualspaghetti.com/index.php?index=30&language=en
and search for:
New Version 2.5:
* Now Compatible with 240x400 screens (WQVGA)
Samsung i900 Omnia,...
* Now Compatible with 480x800 screens (WVGA)
Xperia X1 Sony Ericsson, HTC Touch HD,...

it installs fine, it is compatable with the HD (version 2.5 supports 480x800)...
...but, after installing the program on the HD, i realised it messed up the screen, when you try and make a note, its not calibrated, you tap one part of the screen but it thinks your touching a different part.

i guess its not compatable with the HD, the resolution is supported, but its probably another problem, the website mentions the x1 is supported and doesnt mention the HD. im guessing this is the reason why. You will just have to wait untill they release something that works for us.
All I know is that the webpage says it is kompatible to the hd. (see attachment)
But if you got problems then there may be a bug.
Or they didn't test the new version on the hd.
Anyway.
I don't have this program.
And I don'T got my hd yet.
The developers claim this works on the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 which is also WVGA, but I have the exact same problems as reported here.
News from the developers...
---------------------------------------------------
Hi,
First of all, sorry for the delay.
We have discovered some screen problem with the Touch HD.
This problem is know and will be fixed in our next release(available soon).
Best Regards,
Virtual Spaghetti Support.

I do have exactly this effect on my XPERIA X1. Hopefully the developers from spagetti can fix that because I'd really like to use the soft.

What do you mean by "it not good"? You can adjust everything in the settings-dialog, so that it works perfectly on my Xperia...
Or is the program too expensive for you

Omnia's touchpad-cursor moves like a laptop's cursor. This one moves only to 4 different directions with touchpad (or 8 with keyboard). But i think its impossible to get laptop-stylish cursor on Xperia cause Xperia's touchpad is developed only to sensitive 4 different direction.
try fake cursor plus.. search

Has anyone tried Experiment13 on their TP2? It's a game designed for the Sony Xperia X2, so presumably should run reasonably well on other Qualcomm MSM7xxx devices such as the TP2, TD2 and Touch HD.
You can download it here:

Such a nice game! Runs perfectly on my T-mo TP2 (stock ROM)!
Working well on my ATT Tilt 2, nice find, thanks!

It does, in the Games folder.
i tried to access through quickmark barcode reader but it seems 'im not authorized to view this page'
Does the game work with the accelerometer for anyone?
It works fine for me using the on-screen controls, but I can't get the tilt (accelerometer) controls to work...

The game is specifically designed for the Xperia X2 - I guess its accelerometer works differently from the one on the TP2.

That's basically what I figured... It's still fun with the on-screen controls, but would be better with accelerometer controls.
Thanks for confirming.
moving sensor doesn't work on tp2,but never mind, game is great indeed!
Nice game
Thanks!
Quite fun. The onscreen controls are quite adequate since it is a puzzle game so lightning quick reactions aren't necessary most of the time.
Now quick question... Anybody know how to move the blocks in 6.5 so that they kill the plant? I'm stuck there with no idea how to move forward... Would appreciate any help.
awesome game
i need an a WM phone with an hardware keyboard;
i've tried a touchpro2 for a couple of days: a so-so experience. now i need your opinions (or info) about some critical points of the X2 (i've just read almost the whole forum, so i know the software issues)
gps
the tocuhpro2 has a small gps lag, even after some patches
keyboard
the touchpro2 has a great keyboard, maybe the best 'ive ever tried
the optical pad
the touchpro2 lacks any hardware scrolling (the zoom bar sucks)
free ram
with a custom rom (senseless – i hate sense/manila) the tp2 has 120mb free RAM
i remember tha X1 suffers too low volume problem. what about X2?
thank you very much and sorry for my english
gps I don't use
keyboard on X2 is great
optical pad is very OK
rings volume is OK if you set it to max
there's less RAM than on X1 but actually no problem with that
X2, it's on HW side a way better phone than any HTC one.
But the power of htc it's not on the toy HW, but on the large customer base.
On the x2 side, instead, seem that the main job of the majority of users is complaining about the phone and blaming sonyericsson.
And scaring the potential new users, will keep them away.
So, few users= less probability that someone (or SE itself) discover a fix, or produce a good mod/utility/sw.
That said X2 (as tp2) is a bit underpowered to run wm 6.5 but is still usable using few attention and few tweaks.
The GPS is absolutely great (few seconds to get the fix in indoor)
The keyboard is almost perfect
The display is really really nice
And the optical pad is useful in most situations, although wm 6.5.3 is more finger friendly than previous versions.
The build construction is great and is light years from the one seen on X1.
The audio power requires a longer discussion, unlike the X1, is powerful on the multimedia side (you can easly hear the gps direction even in a noisy car), but the ringtones and notification are low.
I just discovered that is one of SE cab that lowers the ringtone's volume, so I'm just investigating in a way to get the sound back, w/o loosing some of SE features.

yeah i know. but generallly i use a naked WM; then i install my "businness" plugins (pocketbreeze, rcm and a launcher) on the today. with this configuration (and with a little boost from the overclock) the tp2 almost flies.
i've read (in the change language thread) that it's possibile a barebone X2 (no panels and no SE customization). is this true? and how does it work?
at last: is the SDfix necessary even after the last fw upgrade?
thanks

I mean globally...
Better camera, better build construction, sexy design, optical dpad, and so on.

With the almost vanilla WM you can obtain blocking most of the oem cab installation, the phone is fast enough and pleasant to use, i never used RCM, but the stock contact management in the x2 is nice, other than the bit odd dialer (no quicksearch on the default tab).

I'm not sure: i got a (minor) fs corruption, with the original SW (which was the worst WM implementation ever seen) after 5 minutes of usage, then I upgraded to MR2 and edited the registry, now the problem is gone, but I can't say if the "culprit" is MR2 or the registry fix.
I'm actually using the X2, without panel manager, slideview and other SE's ****s, and the phone works fine with about 110-120 mb of free ram.
Keyboard is great, trackpad is great, GPS works fine, camera is not what it was supossed to be, but it's still is better than TP's one. SD cad fix is still necessary, i've lossed data even with the last firmware, but with the fix works fine.
The phone speed is not great, but is enough, and if you want you can overclock it, but it's not necessary.
So if you don't like manilla, and you don't mind the software issues that are still present, i'll go for the X2.

I don't think that SE softwares are ****s, they are simply too heavy for the X2 processor and memory. pixecity and growing panel ares simply useless, but the panel switching and slideview are nice, too heavy, a bit buggy but nice.

Your English is better than mine, and your description of the camera is perfect.
I confirm almost everything above.
Actually I use TileView Panel and it's very well working.
As well as SlideView.
As for camera, X2 takes great pictures.
Actually is one of the best in class IMO.
Video is edgy on start but it's indeed ok, especially with bigger resolution you can watch this full screen on laptops.
It doesn't match some HD cameras on Symbian or Android but it's ok.
The main concern is stability, but it mainly means X2 needs reboot every 3, 4 days.
Even with this, I still hardly imagine any substitute for X2.
And SE graphic elements suit me.
P.S. SdCardFix is a must.
ouch, i've just read that X2 seems to have problem running iGo8. can you confirm?

I'm running igo8 (double installation Navtec/ Teleatlas) and it's working fine but not out of the box, you need the correct data.zip.
Navigon (final) is also working fine.

Yes, i know. But i'm coming from tp2...
In the meanwhile i've removed almost all the programs listed as installed, i've applied sdfix and installed some of my favourite sw, except igo8 and operamini.
The X2 runs smooth, as smooth as tp2 with no manila/sense. In the near future i will try the stop-customization trick and the overclock.
The keyboard is good: better than X1's one but ages from tp2's.
The pad seems to me as a killer feature; finally a device "touch-non-touch".
Hope aebuttons (another favourite of mine) will let me set all the other buttons.
thanks

The hard input devices are indeed not common in the age of iphone dumbness.
Seem that no one cares anymore on how a jog dial (like the one present on the P series) or a joystick (like te one present on the k800 or the imate 8502) can be handy.
Btw the optical trackpad is definitely better than nothing.

Yes I'm using it, it works perfectly on the clean phone, it works mostly when used with the stock SE SW.
I mapped the slideview button as start menu button with short press, and as task manager with long press.
I also mapped the volume buttons as a fake jog dial, so I can read ebooks happily as on my beloved p800.
