Has anyone thought of/already produced a small Slide to Unlock bar that could be used as a today plugin for your home screen? That would be the bomb! Anyone agree or heard of something already? I know of S2U2 but that is more of a screen saver... could be a "slide to lock" and then "slide to unlock" type deal. Anyone feel me on this?
Some people have discussed a "transparent" S2U type of app. The PointUI guys said they may try to add that to their app at some point. THat's the closest thing that's been considered...
yeah :/ hopefully someone comes out w/ it soon, would rather it be independent from pointui...
That's a neat idea.
I"m having a hard time making s2u2 actually be useful for me, because i really want to use it. but i dont want to use the native lock function either, and the batterystatus locking functionality is boring! i want to sliiiiiiiiiiiide
yeah! i hope someone on this board with any type of programming experience picks this idea up, i'd be more than willing to work with them on the gui for it, if it is at all even possible.
bump... i refuse to let this idea die!!!!

yes i read through that but it isn't quite what i was inquiring about... hopefully that developer can cook something up
great idea would love to use
If there be a nice Graphic today >> Slide to Lock (instead of Lock) and call S2U2 would be very nice
if you're using ftouchflo, setup the left->right action to run S2U2. I find that to be a better solution so I can easily lock my phone no matter what screen I'm on and save my precious today screen space...
Nah, Personally, i'd prefer just an lock/unlock slider sitting on Today screen, so that i can see my Batterystatus and TodayAgenda all the time. The fact that S2U2 covers the Today screen (and my events/tasks with it) is the only thing that keeps me from using it.
What i would expect from such a plugin is the simplicity, ability to skin it, and customize its size.
someone please produce this, maybe we can get a paypal going for the author? i'd pay a few bucks for it forsure.
this is what your looking for...
for some reason this wouldn't come up in the xda search, had to do it directly in google... but this is what your after

Just wondering if there is a way to make finger sliding work on HTC home?
I have it set up just the way I like it... and I just want to slide my finger across it to make it switch panes.
I know, TL and RL and whatever else will do it, but I just want something simple. I'd like to stick to a minimalistic phone here.
ps - on a tilt.
Thanks!
Finger sliding on the HTC Home meaning that when you slide left on the clock tab, it will change to the next tab on the right? Say weather or contacts?
Yes it could be cool
Some times I try it and wonder why it doesn't work
a good idea
Good idee!

touch commander does exactly what you want.

and there are skins that look exactly like htc home
Hello all,
I like having my phone locked on the Windows Classic lock screen, as it means I can see the Manila homescreen when the screen is locked (unlike the slide to unlock of the Windows Default screen).
However, when I receive and incoming call on the Windows Classic lock screen, I am first asked to unlock the device, before I can answer the call with the Manila answer slider.
This isn't the case with the default lock screen.
Does anyone know if there is a workaround for this? Or some fix?
Or do I just need to get used to the Windows Default slide to unlock screen?
Thanks ^^
Anyone got any ideas if there anything we can do about this?
80 page views and no one has any ideas.
Hey again guys,
Sorry to bump this, but I was wondering if anyone knew/knows of a way around this. Basically, what happens, is this:
When the phone uses the Windows Classic lock screen (ie what it used to have on WinMo 6.1, not slide to unlock) when someone phones me, the phone brings up the unlock button to press, before I can use the slider to answer the call.
As far as I remember, it only did this on my X1 when I switched to itjes Leo 10 version, which had the Manila version our phones had.
It's a bit annoying, as I like to have my phone locked on the Manila home screen, but having to unlock the phone before answering a call is very annoying.
Maybe someone has an idea of a fix, or a work around to stop it bringing up the unlock button?
Hum and what if you just press the real physical answer button ?

I could do that yes. But the screen stays locked with the unlock button on the screen. So it still doesn't really fix anything other than being able to answer the phone.
I was wondering why it does this (always used to bring up the slider on Manila 2.1 on my X1) just wondering why it doesn't with WinMo 6.5 and HTC Sense on.
Anyone managed to get this to work yet?
Can't get the screen to auto-unlock when someone phones =(
Still having to use the slide-to-unlock slider. Oh well.
I am looking to purchase this phone and have a query regarding the lock screen.
I used to have the I-Mate K-Jam, the lock screen on this phone used to lock on the Today screen if i'm not mistaken. I could basically see my today/tomorrow calendar items, no. of unread message etc. Since the k-jam i've had the i-phone and i have severely missed the today screen, there are apps for this on the i-phone but they get buggy then there's compatibility etc.
Does the WM 6.5 have the same lock screen, i know the new lock screen looks totally different, but i do understand there is a setting to enable the classic lock screen. Does the classic setting allow the user to lock to the today screen.
Any images would be great.
Thanks in advance
Anyone answer the above please.

Thanks but thats not really answering my question, all those images are of the new windows lock screen.
Has anyone got the classic lock screen on the HD2?
More to the point can the HD2 lock the screen on the 'today' screen.
Thanks

yes you can i have tried it...but first you have to disable the default lock screen in wm6.5
if you post that you got it, why not post how
go to settings > menu > all settings > lock > display tab choose windows classic from the dropdown.
then the phone needs to reboot and you have an empty original today screen..
to get sense back or put other items on the today screen got to settings > today > items tab
whatever you choose, now when you push a button it will show you a locked windows today or sense home screen..
edit: althought it takes an extra tap to unlock, it easier with one hand then the slider on top of the screen..
You can also try PocketShield which works nice on the HD2.
It has a "transparent lock" mode which might fit into what you are looking for. Not free though...
Not sure this is in the right forum since it's really a general WM question, but anyway...
I want to be able to view my today screen since it contains all my appointments etc even when the screen is locked.
I guess a transparent screen lock would solve the problem, but I havent found one yet.
Is there one?
Another solution would be something that kept the screen locked until I press the power button. Then it would be easy to unlock but still locked when it's not in use so I dont make calls etc without knowing it.
try s2u2 http://www.xda-developers.com/windows-mobile/s2u2-new-version-v2-30/ it will show your information on the lock screen

That's not good enough. I have everything specified just as I want it in my today screen and to find a custom lock screen that matches that is impossible to find. A transparent lock screen or a lock screen that gets unlocked automatically when I press the power button would solve it perfectly.
use the old (standart)lockscreen. like wm6.1
it is your homescreen with a unlock softbutton.
(i use wm6.1 and now i don't know why everybody is needing blown up lockscreens, when the old one was best )

How do I get the old style? If I show the lock object on the today screen it will still show the new 6.5 lock screen when I lock the phone.
i do not know how to get it back , but i know that it is possible.
i hope someone can show you the way.

Seems to work, thanks. Still interested in other soultions, but this will probably be fine otherwise.
or install Cookie Home Tab
it has customizable lockscreens, emphasis on multiple kinds of locks.
each has the ability to move the parts around like CHT always does. and you can make it fit your every need !

Does that requier HTC Sense? I'm using a clean rom without any HTC software, since I want to use the old today screen. This is very important since I use TodayAgenda.
