Using A Calling Card on HTC Diamond - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV Themes and Apps

Greetingd guys, Im just wondering if there such a program or software that can program your phone to have a pause and dial a second number?
ie, calling a 1800 number and wait couple of seconds and then dial a pin number for a phone card then pause for a couple of seconds and then call a number again just like the old motorola phones doed where you can insert a 3 second pause in between dialing thank you for some info on this guys.

Sunnysoft calling card

Thank you guys
Thank you guys for the informations I tried sunnysoft but It was too complicated for a newbie like me but I already figured it out tough, there's that option Im looking for on the HTC dialer itself If I press the * sign twice it gave me the option to p "pause" and w "wait". I feel stupid asking for help while the answer is right in front of me. guys over here are really doing a great job and Im slowly learning new things the more I spend time on this site.

Try COMFI calling cards... they used to have this service if I recall right

AUTO Redial Program.

Hi Friends,
I want to know if there is any software available to Auto redial a number in case the phone u r trying to reach is enaged...!!!
Wont it be lovely to have such software. Most of the Nokia phones have such a feature.
Also My wish list is to have a software which will ask me to dial alternate number from your Contacts if the number u r dialing is busy..
Say if I call a contact at his home and the nuber is busy can the software pick up his / her mobile or office number and give a choice to dial the same..
I am sure some smart software engineer around in the forum can develop such an application.
Thanks in advance.
SPG
Hey SPG,
u r actually very rite mite!
it wud be great to have such a software..
coming to think of it... isnt NOKIA fones...the SYMBIAN OS a lot more advanced and better then Windows Mobile 2003 ?
well, it does look as if it is..coz they almost do everything our xda2's r doing regarding the Phone Functions... what added advantages r we getting out of having a Windows Mobile Phone OS ?
hardly anything!
infact, even the Last Caller details r so horribly organised! if u call a person's number continiously if buzy, the name gets added the no. of times u been calling ,and it moves the latest calls contacts to a page or 2 back!
it shud also be arranged like in the Nokia fones, where u can tap on the number, and it can show u how many times u been calling them
Windows Mobile , must not show a contact name more than ocne in a Day. all the no. of calls to a particular contact in a day, shud be categorised within one entry!
well, as i see lotsa geniuses here around , making lil lil very important apps, i think, if the geniuses put their minds together, they will come out with a better OS than Microsof'ts...... if not that, atleast a goooood solution for this Call handling
Gurus, please do put a thought at this n try to make some nice app for this.
thanx a lot!
long live Xda-developers forum! I'm lovin it!
i would really like an auto redial on my XDA IIs.. i can't find one.

Caller ID display to contacts only

Hi every one ...1st time poster and short time reader
I have a Cingular 2125 and I love it ...but with the corporate discount I get I get 2 phone upgrades a year so as my 1st year was ending I decided to get the 8125.
So the question is
in the 2125 I was able to set the setting so that only people on my contact list could see my phone number .... I dont this option in the 8125, is it possible to download something that will add this feature ?
That sounds interesting.. Dont know if that exists.
I just block my caller id for everyone
it was like that on the mpx220 but not on the audiovox5600. which is werid cuz the 5600 is the old ver of the 2125, i got a mda and this option isnt avaiable. i wish i could also only allow calls that are in my contacts list like on my moto v360 ...miss this feature MUCH!
but to anwser ur question no there is no way to do it unless u edit ur contacts and put *67 to block or *82 to unblock
yeah my phone history is
Smt 5600
2125
8125
the 5600 and the 2125 have that feature ...but its does not in the 8125 which really sucks ...
Sorry if this may be inaproriate to ask
but I have seen post about people making custom/moded roms for the 8125 where you flash it and stuff ...was wondering if making one would allow this option ?
Any way to have this fetaure put in a future offical update ?
okay I am going to venture out in my quest ot get this feature and useing a registry tweak ap called total commander I am going to try to look at all the registry entries that deal with this ... I still got my 2125 so I got something to compare to ...so lets hope for the best ...if all else I think I may pay some one to wrote a script or find the setting for me

Even if there is a Registry setting the Dialer Application is the workhorse for this so just adding the setting does nothing unless you also replace the dialer app on your wizard with one (say from the 2125) that pays attention to that setting.
kyphur u bring up an intresting point ...and I am guessing that the 2125 dial application is not compatible with the 8125...humm maybe back to sqaure 1 ...i wonder if the next version of the wizard will have this featuer.

I doubt it would work simply because of the differences in the devices. I don't think the 2125 has a touch screen and the 8125 lacks a numeric keypad.
once again ur right ...humm I wonder if any of the other touch screens has this ... I might just sell my 8125 and get an unlocked SDA from tmobile since I was at the tmobile store today and found the setting on that ( but not hte MDA) its defenitly something HTC puts in the phone ...I wonder why they take out such great features in some phones and put them in other phones ...HTC if you read this post ...PUT this feature back in ! tehehe
caller id to contacts only
yea i have the feature on my htc p3450 (touch) but it doens't work. i was going to post something about this, but i caught this thread. i have the same experiance though my audiovox 5600 caller id to contacts only works, my torq n100 didn't and neither does my htc touch. so if anyone could add some input it would be appreciated.
just a couple of notes
audiovox 5600 originally an att phone unlocked and used with cingular and tmobile the caller id works fine.
torq n100 unlock device bought online, but the caller id feature does not
htc touch unlock device bought online, but the caller id feature does not
thanks

Is there any software which can do this?

Basically I am looking for some software which, on receipt of an SMS will initiate an outbound call to a number in the contact list on the phone.
something along the lines of :-
SMS received from 1-555-5555 containing the word CALLBACK and a password.
Phone then dials 1-555-4444 or any specific contact as defined in its config
it doesn't have to use the contact list but must be triggerable remotely.
Target device is a HTC Hermes. and possibly a StarTrk
The program doesn't need to be stealthy, it's to initiate the call with full permission from the owner but without intervention.
Partly it's for my grandfather, if I give him a Startrk then I want to be able to activate a call remotely if I get notified that he has triggered his medicalert system, so I can try to see if he is ok without him having to answer a call.
I googled, and found nothing, I'm hoping someone here can either write an app that can do what I need, or suggest a product that will enable me to do this.
Auto answer is too generic, I want it to be just for myself and not all callers, and the password is because there may be times I just want to send a generic SMS
Sounds like you are talking about an SMS Callback trigger, though I have never heard of a mobile based one.
I always seem to want the impossible or the unwritten maybe it's time one was written?

just unwritten, it's not impossible
pretty easy actually
i'll try to throw some together this week if/when I have the time
try this
Just place it on the phone and edit the config.ini if needed default settings are:
trigger = CALLBACK
password = pass
I tested this on my TyTn2, and it seems to do what you wanted, the program will activate the speaker when calling (can be changed in the config.ini)
this way if your grandfather cannot reach the phone he still be able to talk..
But test it before use, I'm not sure how sensitive the mic of the phone is.
I do like the idea so I'll probably add some more functionality
- auto pickup on call from fixed number
- status
- call/sms log
Let me know what you think.
PS. this was created for a touch screen device not a smart phone...
also I can not be held responsible for damages, phone bills etc.
but that goes without saying ..right
-=edit=-
tested by sending an SMS to myself, the program then called my number, but when i tried with a friends phone it didn't work
let me know if it works for you (if you have 2 phones)
also make sure if the number you send it from is in your phonebook or not (could be the issue)
-=edit=-
that is the issue, working on it
Issue solved
now I need to figure out how to replace the attachment
I'll add it in a new post
I also believe SKSchema can do this in watch mode. Actually SKSchema can do lots of cool things in watch mode.
new version attached

build a cab, also added apptodate support
is it just me or does it seem to autodial the number that sent the SMS?
one addition would be the facility to set the option that if number X sent the SMS then callback to number Y
example - if I am in the US I will have the number 1-555-1234 but my grandfather is in the UK - +44-555-5555
I run a voip line with a UK DID number such as +44-555-6666 so when the SMS is received from 1-555-1234 the return call goes to the +44-555-6666 instead of the US Cellphone (cost reasons lol, UK landline free, international call of any length = US national debt)
Here is a SMS Trigger I built, do not know if that satisfy you.
Check rk-SMSSwitch under my signature.

yes you are right, don't know how i could have overlooked that
I'll fix this in the next version

Program updated, you should be able to run apptodate to get the new version
don't you love just that program

Sorry, i just noticed this reply
To be honest i wasn't planning on creating one, but i could give it a shot
the biggest problem is i don't have a Smartphone to test it on..
I'm sure you could probably find a few testers in the forums, there's quite a lot of people on here!
I'll obviously be willing to test anything you are able to come up with. I don't know where you are located mr gee but on ebay UK you can buy an old Orange spv c500 (HTC Typhoon)or c600 (HTC Tornado I think) really cheap now. There are also WM6 roms available for these devices on this site somewhere.

I already checked eBay, and there might be some good ones but I don't want to overpay
I'll keep it in mind
Attached is the same program but compiled for a smartphone, I'm not sure if it will work, I remembered I have an emulator for smartphone installed, but I received an error message when running the exe.., I think because the CF.NET wasn't installed..
let me know
I tried it on my QTek 8500. The exe ran but all I got was a window with a blue background and the words "SMS2Call v. 0.03" in black.
No buttons to press or anything, had to use Task Manager to exit it. Which id did without complaint. Thanks for trying, some work may be needed I think

Currently that is the program
Could you try to edit the ini file?
in case you have 2 phones, add the number from the 2nd phone in the file
save and run the program
send an sms from the 2nd phone with the passcode mentioned in the ini file
your 1st phone should call this number after the SMS receipt
I know the program doesn't look like much but i might fix this in the future
when i do i'll also look at the exit button.
the reason i didn't was because the application was for an older person,
this person could be playing around with the phone accidentally closing the program ...
I looked in the .ini file and then tried sending a text to the phone containing the words CALLBACK PASS. I tried this with/without a space, up and lower case, with the program in the background or on screen but it didn't do anything. Do I have to put a shortcut in the Startup folder or something? Or am I not formatting the text message properly? The sending phone number is in the contacts list if that makes a difference.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Could you just not set his phone to auto answer ? - that way you can call him any time.

not really, assuming it works maybe it has to do with the formatting,
Callback should be in capitals and pass in lower letters.
when I tested this with my TYTN2 it worked the way it should.
also did you enter the default number ? e.g. the number that will be called?

[sarcasm]
Gee why didn't I think of that...
[/sarcasm]
Seriously have you read the thread?
the topic starter didn't want it this way for several reasons...
Default number and closed flip
I didn't enter a default number because I want it to respond to any number that sends the text. I deleted the DefaultNumber line from the config and it worked, to a point. The phone I'm running it on is a Qtek 8500/HTC StrTrk, which for those who don't know, is a flip phone. My problem is this, if the phone is closed when the text is received the call is made but cut off immediately because the phone is set to hang up calls on closing. Nowhere can I find a setting to stop this from happening, anybody have any ideas?

HELP! Gyrator 2 hanging up my calls?

Hi, everyone, first time posting. Good to meet you!
I bought my Touch HD in Taiwan and have been having fun learning more about this nifty device. This forum has been a great resource. Although there are a number of UI irks that bug me, the most annoying thing is mysterious call hangups.
I have installed Gyrator 2 and I'm not sure if its the culprit. Basically, when I am talking on the phone with the phone in a normal, upright position, it works okay. But if I change the orientation, say like I lay back on the bed and put my head on the pillow, then it will hang up my call. Any guesses?
Another thing I hope to get help with. Being out in Asia, I have to add a couple of digits in order to dial the States (002/006 depending on the carrier). However, all my US contacts have just 10 digits. When I try to browse a contact to call, I can't find an "add digits" function like on the Motorolas so I have to manually type in the numbers. Am I just thick and can't find it or is it a missing feature?
Many thanks in advance to any help!
Have you tried adding the phone to the exclusions of Gyrator?
Edit the Gyrator events and remove or disable the hang up phone when face down event. You might also want to do the same for answer when the phone is upright to avoid it auto answering when you have it in your pocket.
For the number problem you could always try storing yor contacts in international dialling format, which for dialling the US is add to +1 to the start of the 10 digit number. The carrier you are using should recognise that as a US number and sort out whatever numbers it needs to add itself.

windows mobile 6 style dialer screen for wp7

ok so i was checking out a wp7 phone yesterday for the first time and everything was looking great.. but i noticed the dialer screen is just the dialpad and a display of the numbers you have punched in.. does the job but come on.. how about some innovation..
i have a windows mobile 6 phone and when i start dialing a number, it shows me suggestions from contacts and more importantly, recently dialed numbers..
so for example if i called someone 2 weeks ago.. and i only vaguely remember the number, i can punch in the first 2 or 3 digits and the rest will show right up...
anything like this possible on wp7?? its kind of important for me

sorry not sure where I had the link but a simple google search will give you the answer.anyway yesterday at the mwc the new update is confirmed for a march release.
still really looking forward to this... haven't heard anything so far..also, it looks like the mango update will not be bringing this feature.
i did buy a samsung focus after creating this thread and the lack of smart dial is killing me.. i'm actually thinking of getting another windows mobile phone until this feature is implemented
