Hi,
one question.
Did the HTC Niki (MDA Touch Plus) now a GPS Onboard or not?
If yes how could i activate it.
Thanks a lot
The chipset supports GPS but the Touch Plus aka NIKI200 have no GPS antenna! If you want to use GPS, you have to use a GPS mouse over Bluetooth!

I love the Hermes.
Is there a HTC phone with a similar spec (400 mhz) but without the slide out keyboard...and with a built in GPS antenna.
This would cut down the bulkiness of the phone. I find myself using the touch screen keybd more...
Hermes without keyboard and GPS
Hi there,
I believe the HTC device you are looking for is either the 3300 or the 3600, you can see them on the HTC website... www.htc.com
I hope this helps

Sounds like you want an HTC Trinity-based device ... Dopod D810 is how it's marketed here in Australia.
The trinity would be your best bet....
hi guys, i want to use GPS on my htc 8525 but i dont know how. Can u tell me some options to use GPS on htc 8525 without paying any monthly charges? I heard about gps reciever or microsd card gps etc... but i dont know how. help me thank you
Get TomTom or another GPS software that doesn't use data, and pick yourself up a bluetooth GPS receiver. When I had my 8525 I had a GlobalSat BT-359W receiver that I picked up @ Amazon and TomTom 6 and it worked like a charm. I've since upgraded to a Tilt (built in GPS) and TomTom 7.
You will have to pick up at least a 1 GB microSD card because the TomTom maps are 600 - 800 mb...depending on which ones you get. I would recommend something bigger though.
Hi there, i just bought a GlobalSat BT-359w like your and i have tomtom software too? so how can i make it work on my phone now. plz help thanks

CDMA is commonly used in India, so you have got Touch, but the CDMA version. It's not Elf, but Vogue. It has got faster CPU (400 MHz) and in-built GPS, right? So you're writing in wrong forum.
i am using GSM one HTC Touch....
right now none of the gps software is installed.....
Try TomTom, it's one of best navigation apps.
But do you have and EXTERNAL GPS ?
no i dont have any external gps......
Then, first things first ... you have to buy an GPS to use/configure a GPS

The GSM Touch does not have builtin GPS, like said. You need to buy an external one to use GPS on the phone.
Hi i wonder if its possible for me to get the GPS on my swedish htc touch 3450?
Ive been reading about roms and such but i dont know if the Swedish version will allow GPS, and if it does how should i do it? It came with tomtom6, but i says no gps device found, i tried all settings and so on and not working.
Just let me know if its possible to get GPS on Swedish version ov HTC Elf.
And if possible how?
/Thank you
There is no GPS receiver in the 3450. You can try all you want..
ELF has no built in GPS hardware so no rom or software can intiate it however you cn use external (bluetooth) GPS device and tomtom will work on it
Hi There,
I was wondering if anyone knows Rogers HTC Touch ELF has built GPS and what are the steps to enable it?
Please help me out as I spent so much time search on the net.
Best regards
From what I can tell it doesn't have one. I could be wrong, but I've never found anything on mine. I had to use an external bluetooth one.
Only Vouge has a GPS built in, and Elf doesnt has GPS
As Vouge processor is diferent from Elf.
As i know Elf doesnt have GPS thing.
Don't want to beat it, but here's your answer in English.
The Rogers HTC Touch doesn't have GPS. Only the Telus & Bell versions of the HTC Touch have built-in GPS.
