Does anyone know if i can change the Splash Screens?

After I upgrade the Qtek ROM 1.06.00 WWE ROM on my O2 Xda II mini,
everything works fine, but I really don't like the Qtek splash screen
I've downloaded the O2 splash screen from the xda-developers ftp,
but where should i put the files? does any know? thx...

It's a standard .cab file. Just copy it to your device and run it, like you would any other .cab file.
If your Today looks like [email protected] afterwards, just select another Today screen and then switch back. No harm done

Change the O2 image that shows on boot?

Hey there,
Just wondering... is it possible to change this image? ie the one that says 'O2' with the bubbles when your Exec loads after a reset.
I have a 640x480 PNG image which I'd like to use.

If my memory serves me correctly, its an MS-DOS exe file that'll place the image you want into a file then you upload it via activesync.
I've done it myself and it works, it stays on even if you upgrade your rom.

HUGE thanks! Worked perfectly I've attached the file I've changed it to incase anyone wants it... it's very pretty lol. I got it from another forum (not my own work!!) and could be an offical Windows Mobile screen?

YES, create a PNG image with 640X480 dimensions and name it "welcomehead.192". Now copy and paste "welcomehead.192" PNG image to the "Windows" folder using Total Commander and perform a soft reset.

Not 640x480, but 640x640! Otherwise you will have cutted splash in portrait mode.

Yes that is true, but it is hard to find a good picture that would fit very nicely in the center of both landscape and portrait mode during soft reset. Since majority of the time, most people soft reset on landscape, it looks better to center the picture on one than both.

I have tried but didnt had ne luck as it has replaced my file can i get an imate image of the same dimension?

how about on a Wizard?

Hleeo, anyone please kindly upload the original splash image form O2 EXEC, i'll change the splash screen, but i prefer to make bakcup before. (Who know I'll miss that screen sometime)

SplashTool - convert old splash screen NB file to new format

I've created a small tool which will take a splash screen NB file created using madkat's NB image converter and convert it to the new splash screen format used in HTC Devices such as Kaiser or Titan. It just adds padding with zeros and the string "This is HTC splash signature" at the end.

Image Converter not working.

It's been a while since I've been back here at XDA Dev. Was around when I had my Universal and hacked it to kingdom come. Now I have a HTC TyTN II. Had it for awhile. I've tried Dutty's ROMs and they are amazing. My problem is that I tried to create my splash images that I used to use on my Universal. However, the image convertor in the first post keeps giving me an error when I try to run it? I've attached the error. Was wondering if anyone could help. Also, is it possible to create the splash image from the Universal? However that one used to have a a 640x480 dimension. Let me know. Thanks.

I tried the above s/w and it worked flawlessly..maybe u are getting this error because of the great VISTA...1 prblm thought..now i got it nb forat...what should i do now

I use to mess with alot of .ocx files when making misc yahoo tools long long ago. My thought would be to download a new copy of comdlg32.ocx and re-register it. I'm sure if you do a search on google you'll find them all over yahoo booter sites and such. All their prog's are dependent on various ocx files.

Thanks. I actually got it working! ... Found it on google. Added the OCX libraries on my machine. Thanks again. Much appreciated.

For future reference:
Place the file in %SYSTEMROOT%\system32
e.g.: C:\Windows\system32

Hi just tried the converter but it's corrupted. I get the error message:
Component 'comdlg32.ocx' or one of it's dependencies not correctly registered. A file is missing or invalid.
I tried downloading it again but keep getting the same result.

This cabinet file contains the missing files which need to be put in the same folder as the nb converter.exe http://activex.microsoft.com/controls/vb6/comdlg32.cab

Startup Animation on P4350

Is it possible to have Startup Animation on P4350 Like Wing ?

From my understanding, we couldn't change this without recooking the rom. I was experimenting with this once, and nothing worked. If I'm wrong, please please please someone let me know how to do this.

WHICH splash screen? Technically, there's three. I can show you how to change all three.
EDIT: The first one requires you to flash your device with a custom splash screen. The second and third I've only done while cooking but I don't see why they wouldn't work as cab files or done manually...

ok, well, I just made a cab to change the first bootscreen.

Do you know what the registry entry and the file name is for the second bootscreen? In the original Tmo rom, it was green Windows with a circle.

There's also the PrimarySplash.nb bootscreen.... I'm not home right now and I don't know if that information survived my PC "issue"... we'll see.

I think I was not clear enough.
I have tried installing Animated startup on my P4350 but it just not smooth, there is kind of a jump when the animation start.
I replaced the the animation dll's with the one's from a elf rom and it works very smooth but then you loose the vibration.
Has any one experience this before.
The rom I am using is based on the original herald rom not the wing rom.
I also tried the Wing rom and replaced the TMO_Startup animation with another Gif file and it also jumps at the begining with a screen flicker.
The Startup animation I want to use is the elf animation.
Please advice

It works very nice and smooth with the elf DLL's but somehow the vibration does not work

I've always wanted to just get rid of the first T-Mobile Splash Screen but I don't think its possible. Stock Rom.

-To stop the Startup Animation Delete the following registry key and it will not work anymore.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\StartupAnimation]
- The Attachment is HTC Splash Screen which I made from Elf Startup Animation in NBH format and RUU Flasher included

Its not the Startup Animation that I want to eliminate. Its the first splash screen -- the T-Mobile screen I want to get rid of. Its not possible.

Here you are, The RvBCrS HTC Startup Animation.cab I found somewhere here in the forum.
It works without Sound but have to delete the Flags Key in HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\HtcInit.
Also there is a Jump at the begining of the startup animation.
When I replace the StartupAnimationEngine.dll with the Elf Dll, The Animation is very smooth but you loose the vibration.
Same issue if I replace all the DLL's with Elf Dll's, Also loose vibration but animation is very smooth and still no sound also.

- Install RvBCrS HTC Startup Animation.cab
- Delete the Flags Key in HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\HtcInit using any registry editor.
- Soft Reset your device.

Ever since I got my TMO Wing 2 weeks ago I've been trying to replace the 1st boot splash with a custom graphic. I've managed to get it working with other people's ROMs (ie. Open Touch & Touch-IT) so I know it is somehow possible.
The Spash Only rom for HTC above has also worked successfully. However, I still cannot get a custom graphic converted to nbh and flashed to the device no matter what I try.
Can you provide the steps on how you made the ROM for the HTC Spash from the ELF Startup? or let me know what I need to do to my BMP to get it into a valid NBH?
Everything I do gives a ERROR [328] : INVALID COMMAND at the end of the flash.
I have a TMO Wing

I use HERALD-USPL-beta3 and it works for all ROMs but my own.
I've tried Splash Screen Changer and nb_image_converter.exe with HTC_ROM_Tool to no avail.

A few new Diamond splash screens for you all....
Unzip and run the 'DiamonCustomRUU.exe'.... it looks like a rom upgrade but it will only install the new splash screen... nothing else will be touched and it WONT hard reset
Splash 1 = generic version
Splash 2 = MoDaCo branding

EDit 1 : slightly modified Splash2
EDIT 2 : Added Windows Mobile OS startup screen replacement... same as splash 1
copy the 'welcomehead.192.png' into the /windows directory.
EDIT 3 : Added startup animated gif... unzip 'StartUp_480x640.zip' and copy into the /windows directory.

It looks great, but it takes more time to boot with this splash screen...it would be better to kill the animation after it, so the reboot will be faster. Have you an idea?

What does the exe do?
Can't we simply change the registry entry of the file or overwrite the default?
Advanced config has an option for selecting a different image as splash screen.
Also has option for selecting shutdown (default is none) and carrier (default is the same with the startup - welcomehead.192.png) images
